If you use CSM, it can be supported. Highly recommend against it though. CSM adds a layer between the os and hardware that only adds a point of failure for no benefit

What do you mean by that? The Windows installer can just do all that formatting on its own from an unallocated drive. It will even convert to GPT if you boot the installer in uefi mode

Windows installer is janky but it'll do that at least. I love the way it'll use the first ESP on any drive even if you manually create an ESP on the drive you're intending to install windows to. I love needing to take drives out to avoid that... so much
