The way current large language models work is they need input to build the model. All the low hanging fruit is done, but also the quality of the input absolutely affects the output. You use reddit, and you get troll posts in the output, because troll in == troll out. The LLM has no way to functionally tell the difference. So .... you can have people generate the input, except then you're basically having people do the work, but with more steps, and it costs more money and resources!

I think I have a very plausible explanation for the corrosion in the latest video. He found what looked like a metal filing in one of the blocks. What if that filling got stuck in that portion of the loop within the jet plate? This wasn’t a complete blockage so it may have appeared normal. This then allowed galvanic corrosion in one specific area. It wasn’t clear in the video but if that server was the bottom most in the loop that also makes sense why it didn’t impact anything further up. Density of metal is more than water so it naturally settled at the bottom. It may have not been stuck in this case but this is where it could have settled in the loop.

I’ve found I really like Linux for my server. Ubuntu server specifically.
What really helped me was keeping a text file with a log of the commands I ran to provision the server.
Now I can provision my server from scratch with minimal effort.
Then I learned docker and did the same- kept a text file for each container.
I can literally rebuild my server from scratch within 1 hour.
But then populating data for jellyfin takes a while. 😛
This all came in handy when my SSD gave up the ghost.

Honestly, Fedora Silverblue is fascinating to me for the immutable OS.

Though, I still think Plan9 had a bit of an early grave. I think it would have worked out rather well.

every single platform (including iOS) is constantly locking down access to data. There is not much different between platforms in data safety really. Not for ages. Not even back then when you switched platforms. At that time both platforms had next to zero data protection

it won't happen on either platform these days because store apps are very locked down by constant rule changes

for example in October they are killing access to media for most apps - if you only need access to pictures to pick one image once in a while, you have to use the system picker instead of being able to read all images.

It's not really. That's just the direction of current through the multimeter. If you swap the probes around it'll be the opposite.
