Recently, (couple years now) I've got a Dell r730 server with two xeon e5-2696v3 (2011v3), 256GB DDR4 and installed Tesla p40 and gtx 1080 in it (proxmox), alongside I have a "PC" with xeon e5-2667v3 with 32 gb DDR4 and RTX 4090 in it (windows/linux), all that running 24/7 with 99,95+ uptime/month and 80-95% of idling.

I know, that place a hardware  to rental is more useful in the end, and its paids for itself a waaaaay faster, then mining.
like, currently I mine with 4090 + tesla, and thats gives me around 1,48$/day, that covers my electricity bills for rack.
Alongside, average community rental service like golem network, vast.ai, etc, pays 0.1-0.5$ per HOUR, (mostly double price, for commercial computing), but unlike commercial services, that utilize 60-70% of its powers, community rental services barely scratches 0.2% of rented power (like 2000+ online nodes with 99,95% uptime, and 5-40 nodes actually rented constantly)
Isn't there more communitie services where you can rent out your extra hardware capacity, with good chance not idling 99,999 of time? Because I think there are more important tasks that need inexpensive power than mining.

In short, I'm looking for (community?) services where I can rent out my idle capacity, and get for it more, than for mining, preferably by performing more important tasks, like rendering, or something like that.
Very desirable with payment in cryptocurrencies, because they are easier to transfer. But the withdrawal to the card is also not bad, although more complicated. Thanks.```

even tho it sucks having two spots for games, its dumb to RAID or combine M.2 drives especially if you only have 2. For you sake just have 2 locations, it will be better

the is 0 performance benefit for games running them as one volume, just increases use time on each, and when 1 fails, (Which it will because you are using it more to run the RAID) youll have to reinstall all games again probably cause who know where those files are

Can you explain what can happen to the raid configuration and why it happens? I am pretty sure big companies are using raid to provide a smooth service, so if it's that bad why are they doing it

the main issue with a raid config is that by combining them, you're having to run them at all times, even when usually you'd have only used one of them at a time. it's straight up unneccessary wear and tear to your hardware

for the sake of having 1 less drive

its not that RAID is bad, its stupid/Bad to use them for gaming. Raid is ment for redundancy, meaning if a Drive fails they dont lose any data. Raid 0 is literally the opposite of that, you will lose EVERYTHING on it and at the same time ad wear and tear to both because you are over using them

I'd personally suggest having one of the drives for steam, and another for everything else. makes it a bit easier if you ever reset your pc @pearl cosmos

i know epic games, rockstar etc are annoying to import already downloaded game files.

That is a great idea, I am probably going to buy another m.2 ssd over Prime Day, will have to clone my current drive, use the new one as a boot drive, then use my current one as a "game drive".

Its an open source launcher made to serve epic games, prime gaming and GOG. But you can pretty easily import any title by directing to the launch .exe

Consoles are just PCs that have very special optimizations to get all the performance out of the system as possible, developers spend a long time trying to get the machine to be as fast as possible through all sorts of hardware and software tricks
