24 is not enough if you're trying to get immersion with your own inputs, like video games. But 40ms is the threshold for a lot of things related to our senses, such as audio video latency, or in this case, time between frames. 24fps (25 actually) is just at the 40ms per frame threshold which means even if it's a bit jittery, it's a video and not a slideshow.

And my real beef is that today that can be your status quo. Or some sht like msfs2020 cockpit reflection on glass is somehow ultimately shown to you as no interpolation whatsoever on geometry 1:1 with whatever resolution youre on.

So no antialiasing some people are ok with it but problem is that droplets lens blicks at you that you either see or dont see if youre like nearest neighbor that sht and nothing else. So you get that fuzz of pixels popping in and out. Only way to fix it pretty sure is to render >100% resolution altogether. So 1080p 150% already looks decent. Then it resamples it with anything that isn't nearest back to screen res. It will fix the issue at least

In the old days, they used cubemaps for this sht. It's just another skybox with 6 sides textured to look like roughly some sht with the same color. A lot of people were fine with cockpit reflection but it's actually cube projected and lensed, etc with 6 sides textured to be some sht that at least has tint of the whole scene in general.

You could use skybox if you see it when char is outside idk. Source engine all maps you generate a bunch always at the end of making the level. You basically added an entity that hinted to make a cubemap from this position and then the closest one in gameplay would be used for reflections on everything

For a while reflections of actual scene were pretty uncommon. Games that did it lost like half fps just because of it. Tony hawk 3 has level reflected on gloss floor somewhere in airport level (pretty sure). The FPS is already questionable but looks to be some of the worst there I feel like. But what's funny is they don't render anything twice. It's legit that same part of level copied upside down. The floor is translucent giving illusion of reflected level. Now the alpha on textures they could do

Water can be heavy, heavier or normal. Heavy and heavier is deuterium either replacing one or both hydrogens. Still water chemically. If you drink it, nothing significant happens.
