all it takes is downscaling and then reupscaling back to original resolution using ESRGAN and the noise is gone

it's slow to manual depoison but someone who scrape images under the basement can easily automate it and funnily enough depoison it faster than the time it takes to poison it

It's just a reverse denoiser

and a poisoned image with low enough intensity to be invisible to the human eyes straight up don't need to be depoisoned

while those with high intensity do prevent that but end up looking like shit

its an extra step you have to do, its extra cpu cycles, its extra energy cost, its extra human cost to create that automation... and if you are doing this low level, or at scale, either way, number of images you can consume per watt, or per second, is vital... if this slows a large corp down from 100 images per second to 80 images per second, that corpo could blacklist where those images come from, and use other things instead, to avoid the slowdown

you underestimate how important efficiency is to people who do this stuff

and a "just a reverse denoiser" could add enough cpu/gpu cycles to the mix that it becomes not worth using those images, depending on the rest of the setup

and, its never just that 1 pieice of security on its own, its part of a toolkit

the slow down is not from 100 to 80

and even even faster if we use something like DLSS3.5 denoising technique using also an AI

which can literally denoise hundreds a second on consumer GPU

Really it's only strong point is that it exists on multiple platforms to let more players play it, it has an actually functional built-in multiplayer that doesn't lag your world to hell and back like a Spigot server handling more than 20 players on it at a time, and it runs well on low end hardware that people for some reason just can't make Java run on properly, even with optimization mods. Why that last part is, I don't know.

It’s strange but you can get used to it fairly quickly IMO, and then it’s fine

The overlay just freezes in a lot of games and I forget about it, then I’ll be playing cyberpunk and press shift+tab and suddenly my game is locked up :p
