then i made another email, and i sign up for things with that email. if they don't spam me, and i don't suddenly get a huge jump in emails, then i swtich em over to my main email account

Eh, Chromium based Edge is okay. I'd even argue it's better than Chrome for those working at M365 organizations cause it integrates with M365 / Azure Active Directory managed accounts nicely. It's nice to use Edge at work for work things and Chrome at work for personal things. And Firefox when you need something that isn't Chromium for web development / inspector things.
