To be fair RDR2 was very hyped also, along with other Rockstar games. I have lost some faith in Rockstar, as they used to be my favorite studio by far. But between the fact it takes so long for games to get released now, the scummy stuff they pull on their online, and very importantly, Dan Houser leaving... I am skeptical, but not unexcited. I absolutely do not care about anything to do with GTA VI online, but I am looking forward to seeing the singleplayer.

This may be the last game Dan Houser worked on, and if that is the case, I am going to be more skeptical of anything that comes after.

You're right, there was also TakeTwo pushing them to become more profitable with their IP's through online and microtransactions. Frankly, as far I am concerned as long as the singleplayer is good, I don't care about online. Until GTA V Rockstar games has always been about singleplayer, multiplayer either didn't exist or was an afterthought in GTA IV and RDR1.

However, what I am mad about is the fact that neither GTA V nor RDR2 got a DLC/Stories game because they only focus on online (or making a new game, which isn't bad). There is a very good chance GTA IV and RDR2 are going to be the last games to get stuff like The Ballad of [Censored] Tony/Lost and the Damned, or an Undead Nightmare DLC. The only GTA before GTA V to not get a DLC/GTA stories game was San Andreas.

I spent a little bit of money early on in GTAO, but then I stopped caring about the online as much, by the time I came back to it they had gone way too far with the crap and I just refuse to spend money on it. Not to mention the fact they completely abandoned Red Dead Online.
