I want to use something else besides windows its too bloated when I had ubuntu booted not to long ago it would boot faster then my ssd with windows on it, ubuntu steam took 2 and a half seconds to launch so did discord and it was on a 5400 rpm hitachi deskstar from 2006 my ssd takes about 3 minutes straight staring at my desktop waiting for paint to dry before anything launches I can launch the browser sure but discord and steam take ages to turn on

Linux can be very simple...the problem of course is that Linux is distributed and so you have every distro doing things its own way.

Ubuntu has Snaps. Fedora forces technologies too soon (eg Wayland) and such.
