hmm thats tough. summers will handle teh best in teh wet and be quietest.
but if you need all season capability (and cant just rent a car for it) then maybe an All weather tire (cross climate 2 in particular)
A/S are summer tires that are then modified and dont really work all that great (though high Silica compounds do better than most)
an all weather is designed to do everything from the get go and ends up being a much more rounded tire for actual daily use.

I've never made my own cables outside of patching together 2 short usb cables to make it longer, or re-wiring a plug. Rented a Bouncy Castle before and the plug for the air pumps didn't seem to work. Opened it up and none of them were screwed in properly and the ground wire had >2mm exposed metal
