But yeah, I'm just already fucking sick of car companies trying to turn cars into a locked down consumer electronic device rather than a fucking vehicle. My issue with turbocharged cars have to do with. Manufacturers tuning in excessively aggressive throttle mapping to make the car feel substantially more powerful than it is.

That's also means that people don't realize how hard they're working the car.

Like an old 1.8 Civic if you were doing 80 mph you'd be at like 31- 3,300 RPM you knew that you were working the car hard to do that.

Nowadays with these multi-speed transmissions you can run 18 -1900 RPM but you're actually running 90to 99% load and because OEMs tuned rich you're burning a ton of fuel and super inefficient.

Yeah, the issue is I just couldn't double how much I can pay today. So even if I were looking at a new car, more likely looking between 4-8k because even if something does go super wrong, im not completely screwed money wise. Its a very common issue that kinda makes poor people stay poor at times.

Also turbochargers are naturally unpredictable with the way that they build power.
(There's some really good examples of ways to solve this but many OEMs don't because sudden torque load becomes a warranty issue lol)
So you step on the gas you're not really going anywhere so you hit it harder you get a big surge of power and now you're lifting and then getting back on the brakes. so it kills fuel economy.

Because it drives like a much bigger engine on boost than it really is.

It weighs 6,000 lb. When it's loaded. The bigger issue though is it's got almost 30 in of ground clearance underneath that belly and it's nearly 10 ft tall so it moves around a lot so you need something with a lot of stability.

I'll even behind that big bad 8,000lb Duramax I almost lost complete control over it when I got sucked around by somebody with a fifth wheel that couldn't stay in his lane.
