We had certain cultures getting drunk that did it on purpose lol. Vikings idk... did they initially try making meads because they somehow found out first it kills germs in water? Or did they make it because it's fun or good for battle?
Back in the days Germans/Nords started making beer and definitely the earliest we supposedly have like Egyptians actually being first actually!! š¤
Yeah we didn't even know that microbes existed.
Out of all the things I've seen related to bread on this discord this is probably the weirdest
So we weren't even aware of anything that alcohol kills. At least in its true observed form.
One of the local computer shops posted, but doesn't have images allowed....
Bread slavs use to ferment and then after it comes out of cellar, it's like white Kvas. Has alcoholic content. But it's legal to drink all ages.
(Because it's sub-one percent)
It likely started out as "oh shit this food went bad but we're starving" then shit got real fun
i see
Yarp, they did know it was a healthier solution tho, even if they didn't know why. Romans used to mix wine with water to make to purify it
Like it's not hard to figure out things like stagnant water is bad
Idk. It's much more complicated than one would think. Like when we first made beer of root resulting in 'root beer'... that 'root' was of sassafras. It had alcohol and got you decently buzzed... but also an oil from it called safrole turned naturally into MDA or MDMA eventually in human metabolism. Our ancient ancestors did drugs without even realizing it. We found out about this much later in like 20th century (maybe Nazis as always). Then we finally scheduled it
So like organic root beer they gotta treat to remove the 'harmful' things if you make it from authentic ingredients. Sass root. It's what you want but irl not really unless you remove certain oils from it lol
Then we finally scheduled it
which sucks
Well actually it's good. Even if you want that final naughty product, you don't want it do be like synthesized or reduced whatever by metabolic process in liver from safrole lol
Problem is it breaks down into one of the things being amphetos, true. But the other biproducts are really cancerous and toxic in many ways.
hindsight is 20/20 tho. I think it's easy to say that from our own educated perspective, but unless it's literally reeking stagnant water you might now know from the look/smell. Plus...imagine you're dying and it's your only option.
No I mean it's learned experience, like we know it's bad now, were told this. The only difference is we know why it's bad
The first thing in stranded situation you need to get is fire started anyways. So what you're talking about (finding water source) should assume you already got burn going
go even farther back. think Egyptian and roman wine
Any water you bring to like 90C even for a few seconds should be safe bet lol
I have a similar theory about some religions that have strict rules about food. I think it stems from way back when certain things were more likely to carry pathogens.
Well it's similiar with that, figured out pretty early on that cooking food made it safer. In guessing preservatives like smoking and salt too
Egyptian 'beer' goes way farther back than roman wine. I mentioned it. The whole cool part of it is that they seemed to have made alcoholic beverage on purpose lol. Egyptians partied
Like pork and trichinosis
What's funny is we're the only carnivore that cooks or boils meat. Everybody else eats raw. Max maybe bush meat evolved to eat if it's sundried.
isbread\
gotta find something to do when all the jobs are taken by egyptian and Jewish slaves
paint
they did
they also occasionally made happy little accidents
pretty sure that's how booze started. A happy little accident
"fuck this fruit is rotten, but I'm starving"
Literally mid-discovery of chemistry, we got the perfect by volume ration of vodka though :P
then humans big fat human brain's did the math
Mendeleev like discovered different elements I guess and that you can make a table... but he didn't observe or at least acknowledge atomic number and their correct order lmfao. Then western physicists got the real one from hydrogen up
or "hey remember when we hid this from the tax collectors 3 years ago and forgot about it"
But tbh even when they got atomic number, they still didn't know about neutrons and isotopes lmfao :P
So we discovered actual perfect vodka comrades before even neutron or atomic number
I think it was waaay before taxes. Some uncontaced tribes were observed to eat rotten fruit to get drunk. It likely evolved out of that before advanced civilization
we found out what an atom was and instantly tried to weaponize it
taxes are older than time
wether it be giving up money wheat or meat you had to pay
Nah the weaponization was around a century later. Even the intent wasn't immediate because we still didn't even realize that nuclear reactions can happen. Things like positrons, cathode ray tube, neutron radiation were later
But tentatively we did know a lot of shit just couldn't really make it in practice from the looks of it lol. Like rocketships apparently were talked about by one of those very manhattan project-era German physicists lol. People wanted to go to space since at least during ww2
jules verne came pretty close to how it happened with his book
Just couldn't do it. Both soviets and US even had cartoons n sht pretty sure depicting basically rockets with thruster going to moon lol. This was way before space race/
published in 1867
He's known for the submarine I think. Yeah Jules Vernes the whole book 40,000 leages takes place in sub lmfao.
hes also known for from the earth to the moon
Wait journey to center of the earth right
Wait a minute. I know a soviet cartoon that has pre-landing rocket going to moon and there's a population in the moon's core lmfao.
he wrote that but the book im talking about is from the earth to the moon
So basically like journey to the center of the moon + it's a bunch of little bug-sized earth people and communism good vs capitalism bad themes. On rocket too.
The famous cartoon actually I think is at least 80s but the story itself was same exact thing before space race. Some sht like that. Neznaika na lune
Brings me back to our discovery of 'planets'... and therefore satellites/'moons' if you think about it... because what's a satellite? It orbits a planet and not a star (since formation)
Historically, you know those symbols we had for all planets except for pluto (which turns out to be not a planet anyways c. 2006 lol)? We had them for like the sun, the moon, mars, venus, mercury, etc in the inner solar system. And then basically all the gas giants (that we discovered to this day tbh) in the outer system.
mood
recent like ratios show that he is no longer canceled
So picture living pre-Newton times and you don't even understand any differences besides the moon and sun looking like circle with noticeable radius. Because they didn't look like points in sky to human eye, they weren't exactly considered the stellae basically like everything else. Stellae meant stars
lol what
that was the mistake
The other planets were looked at basically as stars but they were mobile. The rest of the stars that looked similar in night sky were 'stallae fixae'. They were fixed stars.
not correcting mistakes
"what do we do now" has 188k likes vs 192k dislikes and 5.1m views. "heres the plan" has 169k likes and 18k dislikes with 2.2m views,
bawls
So wtf you're telling me about going to the moon when spherical Earth was accepted by at least majority of west last 10ish centuries. Then the fact that everything in sky didn't orbit around Earth and we weren't 'In Sphaeram" was accepted a few centuries later lol. Another 200ish years pass and a Sir by the name of Newton (maybe not knighted yet?) actually even conceptualizes gravity properly with no subjectivity (which we knew was there subconsciously for a while perhaps)
you hear all this and people will still call theoreical physics bogus
Yeah well those people are still trying to be perhaps even more meticulous and wanting the ultimate scientific observation with their own two eyes. At least they say. Whenever I think of a modern flat earther even getting sent to space and looking at Earth... would he accept round Earth finally?
The windows have stereoscopic displays projecting it. It's all fake! You're all loominati lizard! Standard model is a hoaaaaa.....
Gets ejected into space
yes
lol nevada police just bulldozed a climate protester roadblock with their cop truck
3 people died in a Game to see who is the better military...
Who in the fucking World thought of this idea
and this is also the reason why POTUS isin't allowed on Osspreys
they were melee kills
The crash happened during Exercise Predators Run, a series of war games being held in northern Australia between the militaries of the United States, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor Leste.
protesters blocking roads has to be the dumbest thing ive ever seen. yes advocate for the climate by causing cars to spew pollution while sitting there doing nothing
What about you? Inquires about intelligence in some way of two entire countries... conflates their general opinion as nation to whatever is written on ABC article
the general idea of having a "game" to demonstrate who's military is strong is just stupid.
||Perhaps you should first look up what the insane majority American and Aussie opinions are on news source like ABC, etc||
its not
whose
if you can show that your military is the strongest people will want to attack less
"how dare militaries take a break from daily training"
mans thinks wargames are stupid.
yes, Just show everyone your yearly spending on the military
and also, Satalites exist
and Americans ain't showing off what they researching in Area 51
such as the f22's successor
this wasn't daily training
i assumed the bad takes were over once the LTT drama was subsided but damn this is bad bad
doesn't work. russia for example they invaded Ukraine thinking they spent all kinds of money years before on infantry equipment only to find out it lined someone's pocket and no equipment was ever bought
scariest this that flew since the cretaceous period
Honestly military irl has one intended purpose: to protect the country minimally when it comes down to physical combat. That means at least holding whomever is decisively not allowed to enter the borders back. Protect both the government and the 'people'. Just all individuals considered to make up the federation. Boom.
The military should be minimally trained and equipped to be capable of those things. At the very least...
they do though. they are constantly declassifying shit they worked on decades ago and it scares tf out of other countries because they wonder what they are woking on now
if you think this is bad it ain't even getting started
the sr71 was a area 51 project and so was the u2 bomber
Wdym question mark. Literally the one thing nobody disagrees on when it comes to what the ideal military is: it is one or more humans who protect the country's interests and physical safety right?
I meant during the R&D
U2 bomber?
wrong model
that ain't my question mark
the f-117
also the B2, which is what i assume you were referring to, the U2 was a spyplane
so your telling me, that 3 casualties and 20 injuries were worth it? just to show off an odd 750 personnel show
that took a while to send...
I sent that 5m ago.
you do realize casualty numbers include injuries right
training accidents happen, whether it was in a wargame or not is irrelevant
yes, so lets spend trillions on a piss contest
if someone says they took 30 casualties it means 30 people were either killed injured or captured
the cold war was one big burning of trillions and trillions
Australia casually capturing US sailors
No but even if you have a utopian democractic socialism or capitalism (w/e tf you idealize)... what if another nation with literally the opposing interests of your entire utopia decided to spend their own trillions and attack you?
i am afraid russia is not able to conquer a country next to its own borders, let alone one across the sea.
By your ideals already a utopia means that you've achieved what you consider to be the morally correct way. You're the good guys. This applies to any viewpoint. So the other guys are against freedom, well-being, the rest of usual sht. So they're the arsewholes. You better have a military already able to fight them off lmfao
the russian military is the worst example on the planet of a properly prepared military
where did i use the word utopia?
Poleticks š¤¢š¤®
Whatever that trillion is of as actual intrinsic honest to god value, you probably need somewhere around that to defend against their attacks. That's best case scenario irl honestly. Like nukes. They don't even cost much but to defend against them properly... yeah... insane moneys sunk
and yet people thought it would crush ukraine in a single day. and now the person that was heading the operation is dead lol
Puupin is still alive
the western military's just handed the ukrainians some weapons and trained them a bit and they are kicking ass. imagine how capable a fully funded and trained western/nato military is
putin just hides away in his mansion, he doesn't know how to win a war, he knows how to plant bombs in a building but that's about it.
/s right?
Personally, I think this should apply to literally everybody if they want to be logically consistent:
If you do happen to believe that an existential nuclear threat is out there, you must believe in spending enough money to defend against it. Self-preservation. Even to have a contrary opinion is broken. You can't have either opinion if you're dead.
nope ive been following the war since day one and im just seriously dumbing down what happened
Problem is today they say apart from nuclear powers, we collectively reported more than enough enriched uranium missing or whatever enough to make nuclear weapons as well
nuclear war is gonna happen at some point regardless what america or russia does
So the whole planet agrees somewhere out there we probably have terrorist organizations that don't align with any gov that could easily have nuclear doomsday device.
Basically pirates w nukes.
you think countries are good at holding nukes?
And if you haven't seen videos of contemporary pirate today, you should google it
||They charge with ak47 in rubber outboard motor boat at like US destroyer||
and when i say kicking ass i don't mean they are taking back their territory like its nothing. they are a small nation that has ben successfully holding back a former empire with little to nothing other than whats given to them. and you don't do that by being incompetent or continuing your soviet training style
they are all idiots playing god. when one nuke drops, all the others will too.
it is probably the dumbest invention ever
Idiot is accurate word imho. Because nobody can play god. They must be an idiot to think that any intentions they had prior to dropping the nuke can ever be fulfilled after humanity is dead... unless they want to kill themselves on purpose
there was a video somewhere explaining how all the nukes in the world actually isnt enough for total planetary destruction
the world as we know it would be gone but there would still be more than enough places to live radiation free
you know nukes are gonna be dropped where it hurts the most. most people would starve to death.
yeah but thats ignoring nuclear winter
its not
Yes they are. Planetary destruction you're talking about what? Define it.
mutually assured destruction is the best destruction
As in disintegrate planet and spread mass around so much that it turns into asteroid belt?
Toast the planet
the amount of nukes we have isnt enough to send the entire planet into nuclear winter.
just most of it
i guess we'll find out some day
are you actually arguing semantics over nuclear winter?
given the amount of super markets in the world, there would be SOMEWHERE near a nuke where the bread on the shelf is all perfectly toasted
i would not be surprised if putin drops a tactical nuke on ukraine, or somewhere in the sea as a threat.
i spend a long ass time reseaching it with the weather patterns of the world its legitmatly impossible for the entire planet to be affected there will still be habitable zones
They say that the alarmists about prehistoric super volcanoes are crazy if they claim any naturally caused scenario. On the other hand, they also say that for the first time ever, us humans with our nukes already have enough to at least shake the tectonics enough to cause like Yellowstone eruption lmfao
the question came into alot of peoples minds with the release of oppenheimer
There are things that happened once since planet formed. Like the Earth got an atmosphere and never lost it since. But idk with all our nukes in arsenal, perhaps we could be the first and only thing that is capable of making the Earth lose entire gas atmosphere lmfao
yeah it apparently takes a dramatic movie to make people think
Or like there are actual climatologist theories which to this day are believed to be official for certain aspects of our atmosphere. Like the CO2 concentration is said to have been insanely high up until a certain point. I think that certain point in time was during or after the birth of life on Earth.
Hello loafs
So like picture us doing something bad enough to wipe out actually 100% of all life on Earth. Some say if we at least launched all our nukes in stockpile at once, we have a good chance
Which is messed because none of the ice ages to this day wiped out all life on Earth. Not even separately plants, bacteria, animals, etc
yeah except the nukes aren't gonna be dropping in random areas, life would still end up returning and flourishing.
humans probably wouldn't, no crops no population boom.
Prehistoric sht survived all ice ages to date as well clearly. Prehistoric to various degrees. Sharks, lampreys, leeches, etc.
mice and frogs
I don't think any animal even left the water yet when leeches and lampreys happened
basically any reptile as well
š„
Nah frogs are amphibians. Theyre already defined with the whole ocean and land animal ordeal. At one point, all animals lived in the sea pretty sure
Biggest leap in human history
True
? all i said is they are prehistoric. some have been found in amber and determined to be 100million years old
Yeah. We find (mostly insect-like) animals in amber washing up from like ocean or some sht. Insects are already interesting because I don't even remember if they're classified as vertebrata or not. They have nervous systems but very basic compared to like mammal with brain and spinal chord like we're used to. Their circulations are also weird I remember. Not exactly blood vessels. More free flowing
neil armstrong would like a word
Man lands on noon
LTT posts pictures of bread
But if you take like arachnids... a spider already has the same mutation as all animals with the male-female thing. Spiders are still male and female. There are animals that still reproduce sans biological gender at all. Sea sponges I think are one
Sea sponges if you look them up should be invertebrate animal... they reproduce by esentially cloning themselves on their own lmfao.
i dont know what is this big frog lobby propaganda
Parker! Youāre fired!
i thought rdj was a better spiderman.
Who?
rdj
Little known fact, Bully Maguire came back and put dirt in his eye. And that bitch who didn't pay for 2 minute late Pizza when he spent a good minute and 30 seconds getting out of the closet and fixing the brooms.
Some random jumble of letters.. okay?
Give me my š
is it just me or would he be way less cool if his name was robert downey with no jr
No, he played Captain Am-er-ica. Conquerer of the elusive Peruvian puff pepper
@pale osprey for many years in movies, his credit name was Robert Downey.
i dont know. but before him spiderman was a bland character, no one was buying comics
miles morales only good spiderman
To be fair, he's pretty down now. In fact, a whole six feet down under
where are de new videos? tanks!
Soon.
im starting to dislike the average ltt viewer
rise of the revenge of the return of the character 2: more.
so iāve heard
i think that's just disrespectful
they can't let spiderman's rdj just rest
cause no one knew what spiderman event meant before he came along
and that was in 2009, now that was 16 years ago.
i hated RDJās iron man
LTT viewer: make less videos of better quality LTT: okay we have scrapped all our planned and completed content . LTT viewer: why is there no videos i thought they came back
Heretic. Miles was never even Super Man like my boy Peter Palmer
i need videos to know how the world works?
didnāt they retcon Peter Palmer into one of the Spider-Men that Morlun killed
Probably idk, I try to get that clone saga shit out of my face as quickly as possible
Nah, wasnāt even clone saga, lemme try to find it
nvm iām thinking of āPatton Parnelā
they did retcon Palmer into something else though
I know they did this
In one of the comics, MJ died and then later got cloned or some sht
Iām trying to return a battery bank from shargeek and they have the worst customer support they are literally gaslighting me saying that I dropped my batter bank
And they arenāt giving me the 30 day no questions asked return policy
Do they have any proof of you dropping it yourself after unboxing? Like damage that can only be caused by drop outside of packaging? Or g-sensor and e-fuse or some sht?
To be fair they knocked Spider-Man out of the park from issue 1. Within the first 20 issues they already created the vulture, doctor octopus, the sandman, electro, the lizard, green goblin, kraven the hunter, and scorpion. And that's just the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko run. Two issues into the run of Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. they made the Rhino and a bit later Kingpin. That's ignoring important but lesser known villians (to the general public) like the enforcers or the spider-slayers. Spider-Man knocked it out of the park like no other super hero in existence. He has one of the most iconic rogue galleries (the only one coming close or surpasses him is Batman) and there were so many iconic stories so early in to his run. How many iconic stories do you hear coming from early issues of other long running superheros? Many of the most notable come later, origins not withstanding. This is also my biggest defense against anyone who trashes Stan Lee or over hypes his writing.
Bro I only know of like the main characters from Sam Rami movies and a few others like rhino, electro obstacle course guy, aliens in ufos because of video games idk. Comics I never read too much as a kid
They asked me to send pictures so I did and thereās a small gap in the casing because there is a separate piece in the middle since itās clear plastic
Ok ask them that if they're saying the damage breaking it is from shock when it dropped to floor which that gap might prove I guess... how did it break your unit lol. Like is the actual thing broken from being dropped?
i Love spidey but the current run is doing him no justice, I hate Paul so much. and thereās still so much you can do with him as a character
let peter get older and married, let Miles explore the āinexperienced youthā angle they keep trying to force on Peter
They themselves implied it broke from you dropping it. The airgap probably didn't break it. Just an indicator of it dropping. What's the actual malfunction? Where is it physically broken in a way you could get from dropping it that screwed battery bank? Because I can't think of anything other than like actual cell getting open or contact lost somewhere idk.
Idk but if warranty covers defect and you're within that time period after buying it, it should be enough to say that no you're wrong and I didn't drop it; it came like that and they replace it lol. Just keep bothering their customer support until they agree to replace for free incl shipping
š¾
Itās not broken thereās just a small gap
Oh. So the battery bank is working fine no problem? Because a small gap between like cells when they shrink wrapped it or some sht... that shouldn't make a diff no?
Yeah I haven't read anything from the newest runs, I'm reading all the old stuff from the beginning right now. I do agree about him getting old, though. One More Day fucking hurt Spidey so bad. So many writers are idolize highschool Spider-Man, even though he was only on high school for 28 issues in main universe. I like young Peter, but they need to let him grow in the main canon and leave the other stuff to alternate universes like Ultimate Spider-Man. I do not mind having different universes being published at the same time, I love that shit. Ironically, by being so obsessed with young Peter they're ruining one of the things that made The Amazing Spider-Man so great in the first place, the fact that he actually grew and changed issue to issue.
I swear they have like one guy shrink wrap with heat gun and it and then it becomes 'closed cell'. Then they go out and say yours or from ali express is more dangerous.
Ultimate is back* now so hopefully theyāll let him grow one way or another
š
Why is this only $270? https://a.co/d/2De3kvz
i was hungry
Why did you shorten a url to amazon product? I gotta see the page because so far I only trust the embed image
Rule of thumb for price too good to be true is:
a) Check the official marketplace guaranteed condition. I.e. ebay 'as is
when is scrapyard was coming out?
ohh exciting š
b) If you're basically looking at an 'as is' product, check description and see if anything is written explaining low price
c) Ultimately, try to always find crisp and hires pic of entire boards the hardware component has. Look for charring or liquid residue. If none, now you can consider buying. If no clear pics of all sides are posted, it's sus.
Like don't get that card if the price is suspiciously too low and the only picture is that thumbnail. That's not even a photo of the unit. Taken from OEM site. Steer clear
Still though should provide at least filled in option for quality/condition. If it's as-is, idk. Should be something on site that indicates at least good shape and functioning lol. Or description should say it functions without problems.
But in my experience, generic thumbnail taken from OEM or retailer site is red flag. You're not OEM or official retailer. Why are you selling units without self-taken photograph of unit(s)?
its an amazon.com listing, its new...?
Even like companies or office spaces who replace entire workstations sell off bulk with at least photo of the pile of dells
Bread
Are people still being pissy cry babies?
?
Last time I pissed myself I was 32
Knowing that the IHS is thicker on the new ryzen am5 cpus, what are the chances of a last am5 cpu to be a ryzen x3d+ cpu with even more vcache and less IHS?
"Bye bye am5, here's a 1 gigabyte L3 cache cpu for you"
the IHS isnt thinner
Whenever somebody is crying for a great portion of the day without for the smallest reasons, they're usually a baby and pee themselves
the total height is thinner the IHS is thicker to compensate
LTT twitter is now bread
Everyone has shit themselves at least once as an adult
no worries i say smart things on occasion
ever get really really sick, easy way for that one
too bad modders can't actually go and add 1gb l3 cache to cpus to see how'd perform xD
People usually stop at a certain early age of childhood and never do it again... except very rare occasions. Sometimes it's no reason other than dreaming of going to take a leak. Other times it's like kidney infection or uti. The last time I ever wetted bed I had the latter
lol
One session of bean burritos and buffalo wings and it can backfire too.
Btw, I learned only recently that buffalo wings isn't actually buffalo...
Literally decades pass. One night you just jerk awake and sit up immediately. You just began pissin a bit under yourself in bed as adult but stopped it mid way. Then you realize like it burns all the way to kidney which has dull pain. Sucks lmfao
Theres a channel about these things. One guy heard the local buzz about some unmarked taco truck guy. The pork tacos were delicious. The story ends with a hella backfiring
I've dreamed about taking a piss and swore that i must have pee'd when i woke up it felt so real but luckily i didn't
What
didnāt this end up on chubbyemu, the doctor guy who explains what happens when crazy stories end up in the ER?
Even the tapeworms backfired because larvae ended up in his brain causing like seizures. They died but idk how to this day he can possibly get that removed D:
Even for that parasite what happened wasn't normal lifecycle. Pigs that the pork was made from ate human excrement with their larvae already inside there. You know a guy did some ungodly diregard for hygeine if even the parasites died because it wasn't regular scenario
https://youtu.be/lPRzYJwqz6g?si=vNinp1ywSPixSvSl this is that story about the pork tacos, had to dig but i just listened to this the other day

Yeah chubbyemu. That's the channel you want for the simplest food or some sht backfiring in the worst way possible
Gas Station Sushi, yummers!!!
Gas Station Nachos š
I mean the pork truck one is actually more or less of some practical use. The moral of that story in the end is make sure one of the most important things your livestock's food is clean from: our own feces
Well I was drunk af lol
Because even for parasite larvae that can be found in them it breaks away life cycle when it comes to simple stomach worms. Both pork and bovine.
Like both the worm and the person are supposed to survive indefinitely. Even the worm evolves toward same goal. Instead that guy in story gets like seizures and lesions in his brain because larvae crossed stomach wall and managed to evade immune system all the way till they got lodged in his brain.... D:
since I joined at least. digging the vibe of checking in and seeing the musings
Freak accident scenario right there
this server is quite an interesting server, I'll say
Well honestly, I want to say that first of all at least in States he mentions that they regulate this all the way down distribution line of pork growing to consumer's mouth lol. That's why you only eat from places you know are inspected and licensed lmfao :P
Secondly, you have to try really hard to get human crap into pig enclosure. Almost like he did it on purpose? Or fed them sewage/waste? Maybe had a septic tank underneath that was open above ground? Idk
goodnight everybody
dont forget that i infact do not love any of you <3
But it's easily preventable and actually regulated by law. Hence nobody gets worm larvae in brain leading to seizures. Again, even the worms were thrown a curve ball :P
Same w mad cow n sht
ayyy, I don't love you to
Mad cow remembe there was a panic early 2000s in mass produced beef in States? So McDonalds, burgers, etc. Then it quickly stopped and you don't hear about a single case legit except rarely. Perhaps even years apart. Why is that?
I haven't slept properly in 5 nights now because of this persistent cough, so this is a mood
Like how was mad cow disease stopped? Because if it as spreading disease somehow, we actually have an example where we managed to 'stop the spread' and end something with our own measures lol. Hint: it wasn't masking quarantining or social distancing cows and/or mcdonalds customer
See a doctor idk.
It's just the tail end of an RSV infection, nothing a doctor can do that I'm not already doing
What is with the bread
Lol gets five nights in a row of bad sleep because of cough that started for unknown reason.
Reports symptom to LTT discord chat
Go to doctor because that's who you should be telling about persistent cough
It's not an unknown reason, I'm pretty certain of what it is, it's just very exhausting/annoying
A mood for you but not me
Did a doctor confirm it was RSV infection?
Repost again I love this pic.
Bread
Definitely bread.
I don't...need them to confirm? Not like a dr is gonna run a cultures test or anything, even then they won't (and shouldn't) perscribe antibiotics for it.
I've got some solid over the counter drugs and smashing the water / rest, not a lot else I can do
Yes
lol
They can look at your throat now or something and check if there are tears and bleeding idk. If so, they can prescribe something for the cough or pain. If that cough is bad enough to cost you 5 consecutive days of sleep lol... could be pretty bad
Noooooo someone locked the bread in the claw machine.
NOOOO FUCK
WHO WOULD DO THAT
I've never woken up from cough. Idk either I coughed in my sleep unaware when sick or I didn't even cough at all because I don't remember.
How do you usually apply your bread's thermal paste?
With bread pasta
I suspect Dan maybe. LoL
We need to have a talk with Dan...
But whatās the joke?
We need a bread loaf for scale
Iām really glad that the lmg staff are having fun with the whole bread thing. It brings me joy to see.
You need 2 loafs of bread so you can see how many left side loafs of bread the right side loaf weighs
Yes.
Why did the baker go to therapy?
pilot chat raided public chat with š last week when things in here got really toxic
kinda went on from there
It's funny because loafs and definitely slices are kind of expected and reasonably conceptualized with respect to market prices of bread in general... some is a bit more expensive, some is really cheap. And yet there's no actual standardized units for loaf or slice
Those bread slicing machines in supermarkets will let you pick your slice width, they're amazing
Like tbh slice never sets price so it's ok
I can pre-slice my batons to like 1/3 thickness of roughly acceptable slice width. But no of slices is not related in any way to quantity of unit and price
not fun to clean. Crumbs. Get. Everywhere.
Sliced bread is a modern invention that accelerates the bread going stale and/or spoiling
It's one loaf always. Or half a loaf tbh. Some bread you get like half a loaf. Often more high end breads that are 'artisanal' and 'organic' and yet rarely the ones that are fresh baked in the oven you see in front of you. You get same high end price roughly for clearly what was baked as one loaf and somebody else took away the other half...
why? Show your work and explain your reasoning in words.
Yes, that we need more bread.
DIY bread slicing at a store sounds very unhygienic
I can imagine
Are...are you arguing against the invention of slice bread
When I worked at a sandwich shop, the bread was always cut over a mesh thing & the crumbs would fall down. Very cool. For some reason the knife was not affected by the metal mesh
Yeah but the only other of two kinds pre-slicing you ever get is just two slices in halves. That's the bad one of the two. Pre-sliced for convenience is good one but honestly it's like one step motion with slicer.
Iām gonna be honest after learning huge amount about bread I prefer the whole loaves that I slice myself
Tbf, but sometimes it is annoying how bread goes stale. I don't use much bread, so often a normal sliced pan is way too much. More often nowdays I get wholemeal soda bread. Pretty dense, and I find it lasts longer
Not even cigarette companies signify at all slicing lmfao. They literally price regular, KS and 100+ length cigarettes the same usually. Because it's no cost diff to them how long or how much tobacco went in
Just the slicing itself is the only significant cost
There are a few mass market brands of bread that use natural antifungal ingredients, like Daves killer bread, but for the most part I prefer whole loaf
What's the deal with bread?
Tl;dr: Gigabyte power supplies are exploding, quick post bread. Kind of situation.
This is the best kind of bread. This and some real butter, glass of milk Amazing
It's required
I buy a whole loaf and only get time for maybe 8ish slices before it's getting too old and needs to be frozen
I have more questions than before I asked
wanshow
I've never frozen bread..not a bad idea
do not microwave bread, it will not make toast
Try it, most toasters have a "frozen" button too, can pop frozen bread straight into the toaster
although I rarely buy loafs of like white bread anymore
um, did you think it would?
š
When I do buy whole loaf it goes pretty quickly, so I donāt need to worry about spoiling to begin with. Daveās killer bread is my go-to for pre-sliced.
anyone know any games as interactive as rdr2?
dayz
manually eating food in a game
dayz you also have to make sure your coward of a character doesnt get sick
no like for example you can interact with almost all the npcs that each do their own unique thing
lol rdr2 isnt really that interactive if thats what you want
you sure about that?
i have 1300 hours in it. im pretty sure
damn
theres no game that I got over 1k hours in
elder scrolls online is way more interactive than rdr2
god i hate that game lol
bg3 is very interactive i mean
every npc do their own thing, literally
or div2, or any larian game
I really enjoy ESO
bro why tf did they add a romance option to a bear
its a druid
where can i buy this charger ? https://www.oppo.com/en/newsroom/stories/mini-flash-chargers-are-slimming-down-and-speeding-up/
youve not seen anything from the game obviously
I dont like turned/luck based games
neither do i but ive grown to love it
and you can save scum so its not really luck based
save, get a bad roll, load save roll again
only good luck based game was some game I played off a CD when I was 6
Key word: option
anyone know a island dice game?
Youāve never played d&d have you?
nope and I do not plan to
most creative bg player vs least creative dnd player
"seduce the cave spider, roll for charisma"
Letās just say some players first question is ācan I fuck it?ā And the second question is āis it alive?ā
This really violates the spirit but to each their own ig
It could be a statue that is enchanted to be able to talk, dnd players will still try to seduce it
pet land in florence kentucky sells dogs for 5000-10,000 dollars.
spiderman
dogs are free bruh
Save scumming
how you sell a dog? š¤Ø
Dnd player tries to not seduce anything that moves challenge (impossible)
Save scumming is fine most the times, especially if itās skill based and your improving, but if the game is based around chance, I feel like scumming the chance rolls is just violating the spirit of the game
play how you like
can you seduce a leaking pipe?
i very rarely save scum
Hey there you...long hard thing. I see you got a leak there, maybe I can fill up that hole.
DM would probably ban you
No the DM would just give you tetanus after
drip twice if you consent
It does sort of, but occasionally I do it for a role I really care about. Mostly becuase its a situaiton where as a Dm I wouldn't make a player roll for it, mostly because its too story centric and important to character arcs. The randomness of dnd is great for 95% of things, but in a super serious moment, rolling can ruin it. just have to get a feel for how the players want to go
if its obvious that a player wants to go in a certain direction, don't keep throwing dice rolls to try and fuck them over
Had one too many dms do that
is there a shroom race in bg3?
tempting
theres a really fat one that you can control and then it dies like a lil bitch
because its absolutely useless
and only raises the dead
Also this was outrageous, but good
I hate that I haven't been able to talk to people about bg3, mostly becuase spoilers
can you name them?
I mean, they are the most side of side characters. You met them for like 10-15mins in an 80hour ish playthrough?
Dark and darker*
Any prebuilt recommendations under 1,5k$?
no its always been that
for some reason quite a lot of people call it darker and darker
It's always been called that
So any updates on the linbald drama
no
the subscription to Drama has expired please pay $99.99 per month to contuine. in light of this news we have gifted you free bread
No drama only bread.
Im gonna take free bread and drop the drama, life would be better
I see bread has become meta
JUST solved world hunger ... ill collect my award at LTX 2024
what about 2024?
Literally has no idea what year it is
2011
Its right there
my date and time are blocked by my 8tb external drive lol
Goo goo gah gah
29th month..... thats wierd
No its just the right format
grins in USA
I mean, for day to day best format. For files, Year/month/day is the best
Here's what I see from my eye level.
i.... no 0.o you were infant in 2011?
what games do you all play?
Bread games.
doggooo

Can't wait to go to LTX 2024 And give Dan a loaf of bread

yay
TFW: You go to a convention with work and come home with like 8 loaves of bread
cant wait to wish i was rich enouph to go to ltx
Just simply save up
The trip costed me around 4k USD, and that was after an emergency I had in Vancouver
Pretty sure you could get it pretty cheap if you did it right, especially if you're only up there for yhe event
IF I do LTX next year I'd be looking to put aside about 10K to do it
ya, but im only 16š
But also, need to know timings bc I want to hit DEFCON in Vegas a few weeks after as well
Cost me 150 bucks and a skytrain ticket
5k is a comfortable amount for a full week easily
How much is that in Australian pesos? š«
7800
RIP
Oh god yeah, return flights gonna be about 2.5K Aussie rubles
It never crashes it just bounces between not totally awful and dear god no
do you mean dongoroos
um excuse me, we call them dollarydoos here
it may be different in different territories but in VIC i call them dongoroos
We took this Simpsons bit from 1997 so seriously there was a big petition to parliment to change the name of the currency to Dollarydoos
Most normal Melbourne moment
How do I get the bread roll perms?
Can't anymore š¦
F
submit bread to the toaster
What if I want to teleport bread?
lmao
That article aged well, lol
The Aussie AUDUSD, 0.14% , as its more commonly known, recently traded at 72.60 cents, slightly above its weakest level since March 2009, which it reached in September.
This hurts me
I guess the petition didn't quite take off
Parliment rejected it š¦

Parliament is boring
UK parliament is funny
UK Parliament is more entertaining to watch
Imagine being in Bulgaria and flying to like Paris for $99.69 usd
Goodbye cloudy north sea. Hello aquamarine colored Atlantic + sun in Lisbon. 16 pounds is insane.
That used to be a common rate from Stansted to Porto
Theyre planning I think in France already to tax the sht out of short distance flights. Because they're incentivizing train travel instead. It's 'more environmentally friendly' (said nobody ever).
tax space x rocket trips for ritch people š„
Imagine fighting force of friction on like 99tonne centipede vehicle the entire way and using more energy for same distance than plane. It's better š
Plus pretty sure theyre gonna have to like build railroads too idk. Spend more money on 1800s tech we don't have that costs more physically to travel than Bernoulli-ing the whole way there through the sky like a boss.
Plane tickets from Ireland to canada are insnae. about a thousand euro to fly mid-august. Not impossible, but hard to justify when I can fly anywhere in europe for like 50-100
but airlines arent gov controlled just taxpayer funded.....
No but space travel actually costs in that same physical way insanely more than not breaking away from Earth's gravity + atmosphere until you leave it the entire way lmfao. Like majority of rocket from the start is filled with fuel that burns just to get into space :P
crumble cookies are good
A PSU isn't technically a battery, do I have to dispose of that at electronics dispo or can I just regular toss it
Then the way more expensive tech is actually required once you get out of atmosphere. Every component has to be shielded from radiation. Once in open space, there's actually too much ionizing radiation coming in from all directions. Just the cosmic background
All electronics. If it has a pcb, that's considered to be the problem. Batteries you shouldn't toss for your own practical benefits on top lol. Like battery should be tossed carefully where it can't burn down house.
*A typically sized e-bike battery can weld an apt building metal door off its hinges burn a hole through it fyi
And no a PSU is definitely not technically a battery. It's a power supply. It can have one or more batteries inside. It can have batteries as the source for the power. So it will be PSU and a battery bank inside of it. Two diff things.
A brick you plug into wall with usb port for smartphone is the PSU for it. The block in between cable going to outlet and the (usually thinner) cable plugging into laptop is also the PSU in terms of functionality equiv
the capacitors inside the PSU can also hold a charge, which is what makes working with the internals so deadly
Pain.
Right they're probably some of the biggest caps you have in entire digital electronic
They don't hold capacitance that long, but also, if you don't know what you're doing, don't
Kinda like working on CRTs esp the open frame kind, do not proceed unless you know what you are doing. Its very easy to dead yourself.
force short to discharge (resistance load) ? prolly to big for that.
The entire point of PSU is it rectifies and steps down somehow like 120VAC up to however many watts max it handles into 12VDC 0.5A rails or some sht. It's definitely something you shouldn't play with lol. Big caps as rule of thumb just be careful. Discharge them to make sure they're discharged lol
Again, unless you know where to short to ground, don't
My new bluetti has lifepo4s, its pretty stupid how quickly it can charge and dump power.
i just dont open them, even $200 to just replace isnt worth the risks.
But in terms of holding charge, idk. What's 'not that long'? I think it can be minutes they still have it. Usually wherever it's a problem, you discharge them yourself
But technially, yes you could
I live in a family of electricians and electrical engineers, I know enough to be dangerous and I wouldn't try and open a PSU
FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER
First time I discharged a flyback transformer felt reaaaaly sketchy.
watched a dude with 20 yrs experience blow his finger off with 277v dud to ballasts in florescent fixtures in an elementary school. got sloppy.
told him Neutral is flowing.
His videos are a great reminder that I know absolute nish about electronics, and should not go poking around with electronics. That and Styropyro
Every sparky has a story about being "hit by mains"
"neutral is flowing" idk what that means so I guess I shouldn't touch that stuff
How can you tell a pro electrician from the newbie?
The pro has a helper with a 2x4 standing by.
Nah a noob will fuck around and find out while a pro will fuck around and laugh about it
BZZZ Hah! Opps.
Just the way they handle working on "live" circuits, pros won't grip onto anything and usually have their own sorta way of handling/working
Well breaker is off now.
Had a lamp in my room when I was young, the plastic case had been crakced and fallen off the wall plug. Tried turning off the socket, accidently pressed my finger against something in the plug that gave me a shock. Never went near exposed live electronics since
wait i got that wrong. dude worked for the LIGHTING specialty company. had to be kicked off ladder. dude who drove him to ER said his car reeked for DAYS
OFF doesnt mean off we had all 277 OFF. i had teh key. always chirp.
yep like with insulated pliers, fiberglass ladder and very slowly. ive done it.
I know enough about electornics to use a tester and see if the circut is live. If it is, im not touching it
Yeah I never assume off or lockout tag out anymore. Sparky has bitten me too many times, learned real quick.
Not allowed to work on electrical with metal ladders anymore here
There's like 3 different codes now that all explicitly ban it
chirper than double check with multimeter.
tbf a metal ladder sounds like a recipie for a disaster
I know chirper sounds self explanatory but you might want to share with the class what that is/does. Most people probably have no idea they exist.
we have alum ones. but many wont work live on anything over 120v without full composite (very $$) ladders. i hear carbon fiber is teh hot new thing. spray painted to prevent theft ofc.
My brother is in college for electrical engineering, and even he isn't confident enough to mess around with electricity. Just makes sure everything has next to no current so if he does touch anything, the resistance would be too high for anything to cause damage
My grandpa did a lot of electrician work. First of all, yeah, the pliers/vicegrips/cutters are and always have been insulated handles. Originally it was at least electrical tape wrapped many times around until it gets that ergonomic grip + also insulates.
He told me another practice is always work with right hand and the left is kept behind their back literally
*Alum rungs.
carbon fiber is great but the reason it's in the news is because of the Titan submersible
Lent my brother my screwdriver once and he immediately used it to bash level a bunch of outlets š« š«
dont always have luxury woorking completely disconnected. sometimes you work on a box that is partial live. or its simply too expensive to shut teh buisness down to work cold.
The key is you have to respect electricity, you cant fear it or it will kill you.
That way if you end up becoming resistor, the electricity passes through right hand to right foot instead of heart. Worst case generally pretty sure is left to right hand or vice versa. Arm to arm across chest means heart. But left hand to left foot and maybe also right also is close enough to heart I guess.
Fair, all he is doing is hobbiest stuff and college projects so no reason to not disconnect everything
When Im aware of high power danger, I legit not only use right hand only. I also usually stand on just right foot and left is lifted mid air
sadly live is usually well over 120v so crazy high risk. while you boss is harping about deadlines so they get their early completion bonus... funny they dont lose iot or theri job for accidents. yay USA...
I am running out of the room š
Is it more or less dangerous to work on European power grid? (230v Ac)
But apparently the vast majority of electrocution injuries are statistically indirect. So it's not the zap but the fall off ladder etc.
i mean. or just have a spotter who HATES you. they will immediately make sure that ladder comes out from underneath you.
hopefully you dont have too many false scares š
more, much more
If you manage to get the first important roll of dice (and some decisive initial factors) needed to let go of contact point, you're still thrown randomly with no control of body wherever current passed through. Especially VAC. VAC sucks because it's a wave

ladder kick is so they dont share teh load with you. ive seen 2X4 smacks to teh chest needed on teh ground. talk about turning teh corner and going "wat teh actual F is going on here" as you see a man full force take a 2X4 to a guy on teh job site.
Or they just shock your hands enough to cause nerve damage to the point of being unable to use mnk/controller

Elon musks Neuralink, I promise it will solve all of humanities problems.
Fuck that shit
Ah the good old one handed electrician, better make sure you are wearing your safety squints too.
We love Elon, who cares about the laws of physics, we can ignore them. Morals and the entire field of philosophy? meh. Being a good pesron? Never heard of it
They legit had nanobots injected into bloodstream that somehow hook into nerve cells on the backburner since state funded abortion clinic split funds with KKK. Transhumanism is new nickname for whatever original eugenics was. Today, they're actually researching it lmfao

physics, aerodynamics, price promises..... you know teh norm
Eugenics, My favourite part of every Ww2 leaders wikipedia page
If you don't wanna get shocked while on ship, wear your steaming bats
Neuralink is a cool idea
but the fact Elon Musk is the person that owns that, yeah no
Most uncomftable boots ever made
I mean what's funny is I'd be happier even if some imperialist super-corp was doing this for capitalist purposes. At least I know their neuralink's goal would only be to make money from me buying stuff. So like just send commercial to my eyeball nerve.
Meanwhile... government funding it... yeah nothing good I can imagine for end game lol
what bdid I just step into
I watched his MBHD video. And the man's kind of right. Roadster was not quite there.
S was/is very special (though outdated at this point)
3 and y are getting to the right point.
But even he admits they lost their way with model X particularly with the doors.
I got my new wonder bread B.2 SSB TBD today can't wait to install it on the bread box.
I mean I can't argue that teslas aren't good cars. They do their purpose well, but some of Elons ideas are special
Company or Country it's kinda just a shit idea for people to put that shit inside them
is that what a breadboard is?
I saw 16 cybertrucks on the back of semis. Eight per semi because of the weight limit.
I just don't see how on earth this vehicle is going to be under 150 to $200,000.
Thought the cyber truck was gonna be like 40k or something
needs more garlic butter upgrades.
regular semis or tesla semis?
I agree if you're implying that individuals should stop fronting and represent themselves in their true honest forms: as individual. Yeah even capitalism has derps as corporation grows. Overhead but also conflict of interest.
I just don't get the idea of them? Not that many people are going to need a truck that can carry as much weight as a cybertruck, nor have the money to spend on one.
I think they are good products with a bad price. I think the S not having a million mile drivetrain like that's cheaper brother the 3 does is a direct insult to the consumer.
And I am a bit concerned as to why they did not choose carbon fiber for Tesla vehicles considering that would offset about 30% of the weight penalty of the battery pack.
BMW 7 series has it.
This is a Bread board.
They were the maintaining the speed limits so....
Distance travelled limits without the /h lol
(Unless you have plus subscription for extra 20k or Elon Musk notices in time that you're in hurricane)
the price will only go up because theres actual demand for these triangle trucks
Yeah, Tesla the company are fine, mkbhd did a good video on their solar panel installations. I just don't think Elon had a lot of say in it, after all it takes teams of engineers to make something like Tesla function
Ok, since you're in hurricane, I'll give you 20mi extra as 'gtfo zero-ground' promotion
Yeah same way that we thought that the Silverado EV would be 40,000, the F-150 lightning would be 40,000, and it's coming to light that very basic edition of both those trucks are WELL over 70.
In Silverado's case the second level of work truck is 75 k šš
I'm talking about the one-on-one that MKBHD had with him and then they started talking about what every vehicle each members of the team had on order.
It would have been a somewhat older video
#BringBagSmallTrucks
Well if Elon really wants all electric he needs to start building nuclear plants or really use the genius intelligence to figure out fusion. Because there isn't anyway to power all electrical vehicles with solar or wind renewables.
I saw the word "lighting" and though of the F-35B Lightning lol
#StopBuyingTrucksWhenYouDontNeedOne
Ford had the formula absolutely perfected in the form of the Ranger EV.
The Ford Ranger EV (Electric Vehicle) is a battery electric compact pickup truck that was produced by the Ford Motor Company and was the automaker's first all-electric production vehicle. It was produced starting in the 1998 model year through 2002 and is no longer in production. It is built upon a light truck chassis used in the Ford Explorer. ...
Problem with tesla battery is not even fire dept can put it out until it stops on its own lmfao
We don't we use coal power plants in the middle of nowhere in industrial districts.
now THATS a truck
If you really wanted to fix the climate you would just limit who can own motor vehicles and have anyone that does own one use an electric one
Won't work
Like you're best off not even approaching it as 'looking for most effective flame rtrdant' because it's not flame you're trying to put out. The battery literally has to discharge :P

Issue is, afaik we need to figure out large scale, electrical storage before we can move to all-electric vehicles
This is why I went down the lifepo4 route for the battery pack in my truck. Lots more stable compared to lion.
It's not even EV. It's the grab for a shtty 'semi-private' government contract where a manufacturer gets exclusive rights while everybody else can eat it. 'Becuse battery is electricity and it's green bruh'
Ford people thought of the f150 SVT lightning.
I was more thinking that people would just have to use public transport since it would reduce road congestion and reduce carbon emissions. Like not everyone needs a fucking car
Meanwhile they like ship the battery from Chinese manufacturer across entire pacific ocean because who cares about env irl lol
This is true with all chemical fires. Your phone would do the same thing just on a substantially smaller scale
Goes around the planet a few times before its a battery lol.
Yeah right I already am aware of protocol for phone. It's on my list of nightmares. Just toss into least flammable place immediately lol
So only wealth people can get to and from work and everybody else just has to work minimum wage jobs because They can only afford houses that are within walking distances of minimum wage jobs.
does anyone now what happed to the diamond play button PC
Like tbh throw out window onto road if you can. Screw the glass. You'll get it replaced
It's sitting on a shelf it's not done yet
Even vape pen battery people needed like facial reconstruction surgery idk. It's not just capacity. It's the power at which it 'discharges' lmfao
Acting like I would let wealthy people have cars as well, most people (in the first world) don't need cars
What causes those bat massive battery fires is typically a loss of cooling capability first and foremost.
i want so i can have the case and playbutton
My commute is 40 miles round trip Tell me more how I don't need a car...
Is there no suitable public transport in your area?
if they're in the usa i can answer
nope
Nope. Lost four jobs back to back because buses were late.
The average speed of a bus on a similar 40 mi commute took me I'd get off work at 2:00 p.m. and I would get home at the very earliest 6:30 often 7:30 pm... That's for 28? miles.
same i could take the train, but then i got 6 miles of highway with no sidewalks
It was 35 miles just checked.
So public transport exists but it's just absolute dog shit basically
Yes and we tried an at grade light rail and the average cost comes out to right around $100 million dollars per mile.
Light rail does not have those issues but because of the insane cost that is extremely limited in the areas that it goes.
It's focused around this theory of park and ride so you drive to a parking lot park your car get out of your car then get on the light rail.
Which would be fine but people rob people's cars at these park and ride since they know that they won't be back there for at least 8 hours
This is all just safety mostly though. Imho, the real focus should be how 'green electricity' vs 'car exhaust' are the big swindle. Even if we figure out fusion: just the sheer laws of physics say the most efficienty optimization would be to cut out the battery -- just a storage container for energy and use the magnetic fields somehow to turn the wheel directly
Also the US is super spread out in some cases. Reliable public transit would only work in a handful of concentrated metro areas
Yeah I was going over it with ARC. My city is 60 mi east to west and 50 miles north to south.
it's cheaper to fly across the usa than it is to take a passenger train too
by a severe amount
Literally batteries. They are a middleman lol. Convenient? For now I guess. Current? Good medium for transferring energy. Still, there's nothing special about Teslas. They charge from electrical socket which gets its power from plant. Plant can be fossil fuel and even coal if we fck up and everything goes to crap.
Crazy big. We tend to do these massive neighborhoods of houses and then a little corner area will be cut out for commercial but typically it's low paying jobs like grocery stores and stuff like that.
If you have a" job job" you have to commute
Especially if you want to be there in any amount of reasonable time.
Yeah, US is a hell hole.
GG. Now you're wasting energy on converting coal you burnt to alternating electric current, manufacturing and charging batteries and then powering an electromotor.
Yeah I think a lot of people just look at the map and conclude the US isn't that much different than the EU. The mercator projection strikes again. It's also why Africa looks so small when it's friggin enormous
If we can find a solution that works in the United States we will have a solution that will work anywhere in the world.
The solution is public transit, woohoooo
So green. I can feel my RGB dimming the R and B values. Now I am green, my broes.
It's not cars that waste so much energy to do something public transit can
Make it functional without increasing taxes. It doesn't work.
I mean in those situations I can see why people need a car, my point was that if you really wanted to help with climate change then the majority of people should be limited to public transport, it would also mean that adequate public transport would need to built. I always forget that the US is just the car country
Yes, let's keep wasting money on military expansions that virtually do nothing and go to someone's pockets.
wish we had any say in that
Yep Right after world war II. That's when the American dream started. It helped too that back then money for wars stimulated the economy directly so there was tons of money running around.
The vast majority of greenhouse gasses are generated by industry and the military. putting the responsibility on individuals is a tactic they use to shirk responsibility
everything in US is built for cars
though we all should do our part
that industry is why you survive
I mean there are reasons behind it...
You could just say hey we're going to eliminate the military and then just respond whenever somebody does something silly with 20-50 nukes......
just I don't think that that would be beneficial for the globe...
It's important to point out that a large amount of that spending is from damage that we did to soldiers and having to deal with their health care for the rest of their life because of those damages
the human cost is a massive proportion of our spending.
And yet to this day we see taxes go up and the environmental damage increases.
Technically, it's just why we thrive. All you need to simply survive is food, shelter, and clean water
bread is a good source
chance is most people in the west are not growing their own food.
we need the transport to get food
I haven't seen our taxes go up. Based on current spending they would need to be approximately 30% for every citizen and most people are in the 14% or less tax bracket.
do most eastern people really grow their own food?
no
I have to use a car to get bread.
Like you can't even get ice cream in my state and take public transport because it will not be ice cream by the time you get it home.
That tends to happen when you're sitting outside waiting 30 minutes for the bus and it's 115+ outside.
yes, maybe make a city that is not a highway my friend.
Taxes aren't going up but inflation does lol. What's the difference remind me.
Probably wouldn't hurt if more people did tho
Inflation just requires a bubble to pop for it to come down.
Taxes going down requires an act of Congress which we all know will never occur in an election year so you could be looking at 12 to 14 months before they even consider it.
Price stays the same for carton of milk but it's half the volume. What inflation? Lol.
Doesn't take a whole lot of room to do it for yourself
wouldnt hurt but not really as simple and people wont bother
I wouldn't trust people to not poison themselves tbf lol
lol
That's actually what consumers are now calling greed-flation.
Inflation requires the only source of it possible to stop printing like 43 trillion dollars every year. Then it stops :P
i just want to be able to afford to live :(
If you're talking about growing food you have to get it permitted and approved and your neighbors get to vote whether or not that should be allowed.
Even if you don't live in an HOA.
do you really think people living in these apartments can grow food? on a balcony?
With our current trajectory they might not have a choice lol
yes
I mean, no
It depends on what they're growing
Join the military and just have 90% of everything paid for, then you may live (Don't do it, this place sucks ass)
couldnt if i wanted to, born with a heart defect
That likely highly depends on where ya live.
Yes ||but sometimes it will have lead in tomato||
If shit really hit the proverbial fan, I don't think apartment living would be sustainable
i dont think it is
so you can't grow enough food to live in an apartment
That's a very simplistic way to look at the situation. Especially because almost 4 trillion of that goes to elderly care.
I'm more talking about real action.
Like feds raising rates. Why are they still so low? We already have the inflation handbook from the last time we had to deal with this. They're currently at 5.5% fed rate needs to be 18 to 19%.
That'll cause the bubble to burst. The economy will rebuild stronger as long as the government doesn't start injecting capital (2008 š¤¦) and everybody will be happy.
In current society apartment living should be the way we move forward, if all hell broke lose then fuck that shit
Don't do it's not worth it you don't actually have any say in your life. Like literally none.
but do you now? š¤
I think we need to stop concentrating so many people in so few areas
I've already been in for a couple years, I'm well aware of the no choice lmfao
I'm sure the government is reading each discord message and making sure he goes to bed on time
Finally the room isnāt empty other than my pc itās been empty for like two weeks
I lived that shit....
Said no self-aware human ever...
I mean you could you just don't tell them.
Worst thing is that will happen is they'll kick you out if they find out
but as long as you can function they don't go looking for what they don't want to find.
yeah the military totally cant check my medical records for the 4 pacemakers ive had installed so far
ā
or just see the fucking huge scar on my abdomen
Okay but then like how will we get to and from places That's the problem people moved where there's jobs
so if I build a facility that needs 4,000 employees I need to have 4,000 eligible workers which means the town has to get bigger.
UBI lol. But now people hate me just for saying it watch
Just sleep on the floor on a $20 blow up mattress. It's 'fine' for now.
"why is this scar here?"
"sir, I ate a 8lb burger, sir"
They genuinely don't.
Like I said they literally don't go looking for what they don't want to find.
We've had people with full-on autism in our ranks.
Granted the physical pacemaker could potentially show up the first time you need a diagnostic scan.
I did a thing. Now we have a potential emoji. Someone call a mod and make this official
dammit I forgot between the glasses
I have a room upstairs that I used to sleep in but I didnāt have enough room to put my pc in there because I had too many things there
Jobs is another common swindle. Literally 99% of IT industry produces nothing that is required for even the sector to stay alive. Without energy, goodbye programmer.
Closest thing I've seen was something that optimizes logistics for actual industries. If said industry is affordable/convenient/accessible power at the root... š
So I would use my pc downstairs and then sleep upstairs
broski i dont think you understand how involved a pacemaker is lmao
without energy good bye whole countries so the argument is a bit broad
"Oh I had my appendix removed. It was by a hospital in Mexico I don't have any records."
Them: okay. Welcome to the team.
i got my old pacemaker on my desk
i wanna 3d print a holder for it
Yeah but energy is that very same thing your body even stores in a way that's accessible and optimal for survival.
Now, it's perfect. Add it to the list
We had a guy that got away with lying about his asthma until week 9 of basic when just collapsed during a stretcher run
til i run out of it, which i most likely would without industry
I'm just saying I don't think you understand how little they actually look into prior records.
And by how little, I mean zero.
No we had a full-on pyromaniac at one point... Took the third fire for them to realize. 3rd!
But like I'm not saying it would be in your best interest obviously if you know you have a weekend heart the last thing you want to do is strain the fuck out of it
I think if the food industry collapsed a lot of people would just starve to death
Once upon a time that wasn't dee we. To this day we have bosses like siberian bear. Siberian bear the food grows for them magically. No agriculture required lol
nah you dont get it lmao
Yeah they kinda just skim your records, but with something like a pace maker it would just pop up as a no no
of course. it would not be too bad though with all the nasty crap they put in food now to get you addicted though
pacemaker?
ye
Vladimir Putin has my retinal scan like the movie Minority Report. I had to do it to renew passport to leave Russia lmfao. Thanks.
Did it make good paces?
it didnt fail so id say it did good
hooray!
A lot more people. It's crazy to think that even as good as it currently is that still happens to people. Just imagine if it collapsed
i ran that mf to the last ounce of juice it had left than a month left before the battery died
just force everyone into the basics of food, not a terrible idea
Pace maker imagine subscription per beat like HP subscription per sheets printed. Time for repo man I guess but IRL
They are so desperate They have a literally assigned a portion of the budget to talk to social media influencers to figure out how to recruit people.
They have waived the vast majority of the entry requirements.
There's no actual entry minimum The only thing you must be able to do is by the end of basic training pass a 60% minimum. Here's the kicker you can be recycled over and over and over again until you hit that 60%. Oh and it counts towards your time and service.
And then you have up to 18 months to hit the bare minimum that gives you a total time distance of approximately 2 years to meet the standard.
Considering you can enlist for as little as 30 months years It's a bit of an issue.
bro do you hvae to space your message out so much jeez
you dont gotta take up half my screen
i have a little bit trouble believing americans will eat only grain.
i can already imagine the riots
some will obviously
US military rly struggling lol, UK is desperate but not that desperate
but only grain sounds bad unless it's short term
i guess if you're starving ideology goes out of the window
You have no idea. Like they've always kind of turned a blind eye to bad entries.
One of the recruiters send somebody with like a physical mal formation all the way through. Like what??
the riots over the remaining food or demand for food would be crazy though, that makes sense
well government would not focus on growing animals that require grain
apparently you can donate pacemakers to be put in peoples pets, since they arent suitable for being put back in another human
i wanna keep mine
but it's a nice thought
My grandparents and great grandparents always had a decent sized garden where they grew staples to help offset grocery costs. It was all seasonal vegetables and then corn. I'm thankful they taught me those skills. It's not that Americans wouldn't do it. It's that we haven't been bad off enough to need it like they did. They grew up through the great depression and all that shit ya know
If you sterilize it? :P
They weren't well off either, just lived in the country
they sterilize it before they can give it back to the owner
Reminds me of Ephialtes from 300
At this point we don't even feed them grain
We feed them corn because the US government directly subsidizes corn that's also why high fructose corn syrup is such a popular ingredient here.
It's also why e85 never took off as a fuel despite Brazil already proving that alcohol is more effective pollution controlling fuel and completely eliminates foreign oil dependency.
what is this
my third pacemaker
Idk but pacemaker in pet sounds expensive. First time I hear about this.
Oh big dogs right?
ye some old doggies can get pacemakers
In the US people are freaking crazy
My friend own a grooming shop for almost 30 years now. and it's not uncommon for her to hear that somebody has spent $20,000 US dollars keeping their dog alive.
Eh idk that's pretty uncommon ime
Bear in mind it wasn't like that $20,000 was spent when they were a puppy... It's like $20,000 and the dog lives for another two or three years tops.
Yeah pets medicine is more expensive than human I heard :(
I love my dog (German Shepherd) but my thought process is that once it's time comes naturally I'm not gonna make it suffer by keeping it alive by whatever means
Like I get it help animals out no problem. Well you tell me this stray dog that you managed to capture you just spent $20,000 on it why?
maybe it's only common because it happens more often than expected
I don't think most americans are that wealthy
they aren't poor either lol
But honestly golden retriever guide doge. Like training went into that doge. Let the doge have a pacemaker. ||Although animals literally can't give consent to anything as it relates to our own rights||
A lot of people it's cuz the dog is suffering or is in pain so then they spend the money.
Also a number of owners feel like euthanizing a dog is like murder.
whats a pacemaker?
They aren't. It's a poor use of funds it is not financially recommended in any way shape or form but people do stupid things for the things that they love.
well you dont euthanize an animal randomly you do it cause they're gonna die anyways because of the illness and pain.
PETA is in a weird spot for that
I would much rather euthanize my dog then keep it around when it's already on deaths door and suffering
yeah i mean you gotta euthanize yourself as well when its time to go.
it makes my heart keep pace, one of the chambers of my heart doesnt beat in rhythm with the other three, so the pacemaker gives it a teensie shock to make it beat on time
Therein lies the conundrum. You can't even ask a non-human animal what it wants. There is nothing legal (and maybe even scientifically observable emphasized) yet that even communicates an animal's consent to us.
bred
May I present to you a company called "CareCredit". It's a credit card you can use for vet bills and even the dentist. It's a legit thing and they push it at a lot of vet offices. Go into debt to save your pet
For some people they chose dogs over kids and therefore they are willing to do whatever it takes.
I literally know people that have taken reverse mortgages on their home to pay for their dogs care. š¤Æš¤Æš¤Æ
That should be their slogan
Depends on what the situation is
Bred into sausage and since birth spinal problems
#wienerdogissues
depends but if im a vegetable what's the point lol
Ikr? We're legit living in a corporate dystopia lol
Yeah that's wild, I love my dog last bit of family I have left. But once the time comes then there it is
In the vast majority of the United States It is not allowed. At least not medically assisted.
capitalism strikes again that was painful to read
Same. My dog is just beginning to show the signs of age. Not really sure how old she is but I know I got her in 2017 and I would guess she's about a year or two at that time.
dang im surprised nobody asked if i can feel the pacemaker shock my heart
usually thats the first question
PETA talks about animal rights as if we even figured out human rights already. It doesnt even cross their minds properly. All those donations and gov funding though š
Wouldn't be so bad if the spouse didn't teach her how to jump up and down off the bed.... The bed that sits at my hip height. And I'm 6 ft.
And she's 50 lb.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Not allowed in the Uk either I think
I mean. I've watched ER.
In the US, where I'm from at least, even disregarding the convo of euthenasia, if you do not have a "Do Not Resuscitate" order on file, in writing, the hospital is required to do everything they can to keep you alive. I recently went through this with my dad a couple years ago when he passed unexpectedly from a stroke.
take a guess then
Yeah DNR is about the closest that you will get and that is just because of your right to medical decisions.
Like I want to say yes because of nerves but then at the same time The conductivity of everybody's nerves is a little bit different so it depends on how aggressive that pacemaker is.
So for me I'm 50/50 but I'm going to guess no.
Was I right? Or should I trusted my initial instinct
Dude apparently PETA-backed services legit sneaked into peoples' back yards after waiting for them to leave. Then they euthanizaed their doges. Thanks PETA. It's the animals' right for them to get lethal injection after we kidnap it. Consent? Idk tbh. Owners definitely didn't give consent but let's shift our focus on flowers... flowers are nature.... do you love nature, arsewipe? DO YOU? Well stop using gas car and buy EV from China because it's green. It kills animals less (don't look at great barrier reef tho because it's banned on FB)
you can only feel defib pacemakers when they engage defib mode
and that's more just from trauma the electricity causes
mine is not a defib unit
this seems like a facebook comment on some random article
You have pacemaker? :0
since i was 3
So yours is more modulating the signal versus generating the signal.
no its generating
It's kinda like a metronome for your heart right? Keep's the ticker on beat?
it shocks my heart every beat
Feel like I just travelled back a few years
So you literally have no baseline signals.
:0 True. It charges from your biomass somehow?
no lmao
Or gyro idk. How does it charge lol
it doesnt charge
magik
this is gonna sound like im making it up but im deadass
you'll never fucking guess when my first pacemaker was installed
So no pacemaker. Means no electrical heart activity whatsoever for you? Not just like a non-sustaining wave. But like none?
no, one of the chambers of my heart just doesnt beat on time so the pacemaker keeps it in line
At birth?
why do u need it
Nah it's not for that. It's for maintaining pretty sure
think "major united states events"
Your body gets enough energy for electro-chemical signal through nerve to beat heart. I don't see any reason why pacemaker can't
9/11
bingo
It's always 9/11 lol
july 2nd 1776
Right before we went to go finish Dad war š
That's a thing being worked on. The issue is they can't just toss new tech in people's hearts. They have to rely on tried and true, vetted technology. Right now, typical batteries can last a long time and pacemakers generally don't need a lot of current
this is my medtronic card i keep on my person at all times just incase i need to interact with an ambulance or whatever
the cards only show the first and current pacemakers, dunno why, the first card i had for this also only had my first and third
the only environment ruined is China's and the ocean, not the Great American Soil š
@graceful burrow do you have to get it replaced every so often?
You should get a tattoo of it. Is that a thing?
every 8-10 years depending on activity
of my implant dates?
im not gonna walk around with 9/11 on my arm lmao
can you just get a tatoo?
i already have a tattoo
idk of whatever the EMT might need to see in an emergency
i assume more strenuous work makes eat more battery?
ye
just to let them know in case you're unconscious
makes sense
so no marathins?
could be a cool tattoo anyway
my valuable skin tho
med braclet too i presume? just incase
no amusement park rides that use magnets (most), electromagnets, or contact sports
if you get defibulated will it destroy it?
havent tried
True. I have a weird perspective I guess because I already hate so many of my dumb tats lol. I've got nothing to lose
ill ask the real question. can you over clock it?
That's called Tachycardia, and it (can) kill ya
its called having a higher heart rate
I just donāt wanna be like 65 yrs old wrinkly as fuck with wrinkly tattoos
i presume its liquid cooled?
we could consider the clock how often it has to shock
which means it turbos when it needs
this movie is cool as fuck
when i go in for checkups they turn the pacemaker off to test it
and i feel that
my resting heart rate is 45
š¤ š
thats not good
i'd been clocked at 75 bpm my entire life, until this pacemaker
they clock it at 60 now to let me vibe better
i mean. lower indicates overall health. to a point
my heart rate wont go under 60 unless something is horribly wrong
:/
it used to be 25
my heart's gotten stronger over the years
Dang that's cool. My GF went to college on a track scholarship, and she's from a place with high elevation. Her resting heart rate is damn near that low it's nuts.
Does it hurt to have a pacemaker?
depends
do you mean hurt in the day to day, or hurt to get it installed
day to day
once everything's healed you dont even notice
Okay
Shouldn't it be 100bpm like Stayin' Alive?
i can push on it and feel it on my abdomen
i know where it is in me at all times, like i do feel that
There's systolic and diastolic pressure idk I failed bio. Was 60bpm the low number whatever that is idk
can't imagine having a BPM of 25
I have a high resting heart rate
no manually prefuse the heart dueing resuscitation yes.,
if anyone wants to play ow I want to run some comp games I got no clue what rank I am prob gold, dm me to join
cringe OW
no thanks
1v1 me quake 1
OW more like debt simulator
aerowalk?
woah its a time dilation tunnel
104 bpm, to be precise...and that's only because they were on all the cocaine when they recorded it
Cocaine + Tazer = death. stay inside on coco caineee
idk what that is i wont lie
:(
