It's perfect as a Linux boot drive. But I wouldn't trust it as a daily OS volume. Also performance is probably more like SATA 2 speeds than SATA 3 in terms of IOPS. Not bad, but not great either.

You can use them for work, to run your machines, servers, everything technology-related, they do.

My wife and I are happy living in the country (America) but it's rapidly becoming a suburban area with all the new people moving in and building hundreds of houses.

We happily make combined about 60k and own our own house, and have about 3 acres of land.
We finished paying off my parents mortgage on the house. They moved out and downsized and we moved in and took over their payments. The house was purchased by them in 1992 for 195k, now the house is worth almost 950k with all the added houses around us and property values went up over the decades. Otherwise we would have just bought something smaller on a mortgage of our own.

The road i live on had 12 houses when I was growing up, as a teenager there were 15. Now there's 3 subdivisions plus 60ish houses on my road alone now

pretty much. Your rural area allows you a 60k combined income. From my experience, your milk, rent, etc. will be half of what we pay out here and the other cities I've visited. Saying you can live on 60k combined makes exact sense given the rural area you're in. Out here in the cities, you can work up to 100k, but rent is ~$2k for a 500-600 sqft appt in the outer suburbs. It would be much higher closer to where we work.

I can tell you're also financially savvy which goes a long way. ppl don't want to live below their means which is essentially required to own a home today
