If I have an outdoor wifi antenna rated for multiple thousands of feet, my assumption is that I would need 2 of them if I wanted to connect cheap wifi cameras to it because I'd need one near the cameras and one near the location I want to broadcast from so they will connect. I can't just make the cheap cameras connect 600ft away just because the antenna can reach it doesn't mean the camera can reach it, correct?

Only thing to note is you don't need crazy high speeds. Just because one is 7,000 MB/s and the other is 4,000 MB/s doesn't mean you should get the faster one - Odds are you'll rarely ever see that usage
