But irl our color temp should be absolute though. Because you can get for sure maxed out every single photoreceptor cell in retina for all 3 colors excited. That is what your brain should perceive as neutral with no other choice.
Wipro is a legit brand.
Because you physically have a neutral or gray no hue where all three color bands are stimulated indistinguishably the same extent
it probably goes low enough
Yeah, I would pick one of those up and see how you like it
Wipro makes cool touch electric kettles 👀
Actually I have a physical problem with temperature because I have that common male red/green color deficiency or whatever
im on the return page and i can't just return something because its a shit product?
Don’t they sell chromatic corrective glasses for that?
What appears to my brain as indistinguishable 'same' all three color bands requires less of one or two colors.
it has to be damaged or some shit for me to return it
Just claim it’s not working properly
its asking me to also write whats not working in the comments
i can't just say it's not bright enough 💀 💀
Honestly, don’t feel bad about returning shit when a company makes something so terrible. They have to figure it out for themselves or start making the product
i dont feel bad at all, its amazon, they have way too much money already, i dont care about them
Yes but on the other hand, it can only make me see less light regardless. Like it will equalize the coverage of visible light but why. I didn't even realize I had this until 15 years old. I thought everyone was trolling me when they saw the sailboat or number in one of those blotch tests lmao
"the brightness is uneven" sure, ill just put that and pray to god they would believe me
Eventually I realized certain things like how I used to call the pedestrian walking man bright pine green but everyone looked at me like I was a tard. It was white lmfao
(i dont usually return things by lying)
That’s their problem isn’t it
Turns out my brain was anticipating more green as a corrective measure lol
I was perceiving a bit of green that wasnt there hehe
Seriously, I consider myself an honest person, but if a product doesn’t meet my expectations, or at the very least functional basic requirements of the product, I punt that shit so hard.
this is literally stupid
they aren't gonna let me return it, they're just gonna send me the exact same model
i am so pissed that i wasted actual money on this shit
But corrective glasses I think yeah should be possible. They can only filter out whichever light I have more of to exact extent where there will only be as much going through as the color I have least vision for
Yeah you don’t want a replacement you want a refund
I think it’s really cool that the Apple vision pro could be used as an assistive device for people with vision issues
Maybe I should try that tbh one day. I mean the way I'm seeing things is actually wrong. Like I know what I should be looking at but it's wrong. Gets in the way of graphic design n sht. Detrimental.
welp they dont have a refund option so /shrug
Rip
assholes
Maybe you could get the new one and just sell it and use part of that money towards a new proper one
im probably gonna just have to throw this away
oh yeah right i could sell it on ebay
or well, we use olx here in india
You would be surprised to see how many things are sold used on eBay etc
Just make sure with apple you store absolutely nothing on the device itself. Use cloud or something.
Ring smart light- it watches you 👁️👁️
Because the problem with Apple is specifically that nobody including themselves have any possible way to fix your mainboard in certain cases
Your data becomes impossible to decrypt. Even donor chips apparently aren't an option...
yeah the problem is i don't think anyone's gonna be buying it 💀
Rip
i see some people selling their smartlights since like, may
Only a fool would buy a ring "security" spy system
Leave it on red & put in bathroom as night light
who needs a night light in their bathroom
So if you need to use it at night, you don’t blind yourself
Midnight peeing
ehhh yeah ill pass 💀
Yeah, we have a deep red nightlight in our bathroom as well
🤷♂️
ill probably just try to get used to the low brightness and set it to amber or something
Go fund me for @main dragon new smart bulb
😂 in my dreams
I urge anybody who hasn't seen Louis Rossmann yet to check out his most popular Apple vids. Mac Books literally had a chip even the exclusive manufacturer couldn't source with firmware individually
i've honestly just given up on apple
apple might as well literally invent a new type of exclusive conductor for their chips
Bbl
whats bbl
Aftermarket ones came unflashed. The firmware unavailable. No information on how to even work the interface or whatever to flash them along with whatever is required to turn it into replacement chip that works with specific unit
And every single one was indeed flashed with something which only allowed it to work on specific individual notebooks lmfao. But they set it up somehow I remember that not even Apple themselves had a way to source replacements
What's up everyone
That's one of the common themes with them. Nobody can replace certain components including themselves...
I know theres always a segue coming... but despite all the memes I can never tell when it's coming
Y'know what else is coming
The brand new product from our sponsor!

Yes. France has been doing that to everybody recently. On the other hand, people were talking crap about 'muricuh and muh freedom' when I went off about it.
One American company called Rumble actually told France to go fork themselves
So did Signal I think
nice job rumble
This is why the French is hated /j
French government is actually demanding two annoying things right now. One of them is they want to moderate/filter certain posts of specific opinions. I think they wanted to ban RT sourced news altogether. For signal, the French gov also is trying to force everybody to basically eavesdrop
Signal and similar chat apps idk... literally their whole point is end-to-end encrypted messaging
Canada wants to censor american content so 51% or more of digital content is canadian
France was asking signal to stop do what it did
but barley anyone lives in canada
Their argument is usually something along the lines of terrorists are using it to communicate in private without law enforcement of gov being able to intercept and catch them... which is true.
now they need camera and microphone in every room and on every tree
More than Australia
I mean in practice, whichever terrorist org was using encrypted internet chat app to communicate did indeed use the ones which were 100% private lmfao. Kinda makes sense.
birds are government drones
less than cali
Give a bird a piece of bread and say "If you eat that bread you are a government spy" Just watch what it does.
Well ideally it's the same thing. Nobody should really listen into these private things. That's true privacy and the only real way it would work in practice. The real question you gotta ask is who's the culprit? the technology behind true privacy or the people using it in illegal ways?
Also whose problem is it? Why should everybody forego their rights to personal privacy just because law enforcement or national security wants the luxury of completing their job through additional means of unwarranted surveillance?
Idk, it's the French
the french have a history of.. mass protest, and... killing their leaders... the french government would like for that to not happen again
I mean ultimately, you still gotta catch the terrorists in the act. Surveillance tbh isn't even the solution. It preemptively helps to detect those illegal conspiracies.
Unexpected twist, France starts ww3
a race between Macron and Putin to drop a nuke first..
C. 1900, the majority of the greatest world powers had their populations overthrow the government. If you pay attention, literally at the turn of the century, the entire world had a revolution overthrowing always their monarchy and it was socialist/communist
The 20th century revolution wasn't a country overthrowing imperialism. If you look at the big picture, the whole world kinda overthrew imperialism.
france has been doing it more or less consistantly since the 1700s
How many forms of government has the French been through anyways?
i spent 454 on valo
You're talking about syndicalism?
They went through 5 fucking republics
im on about 1799 when they cut the heads off a bunch of people
Its France. They lose every war, even when they fought themselves.. bit hopeless really.
Hey y’all know Stevie T?
That was always the case. That's just revolutions themselves. They imply overthrowing something which means killing them. Killing them was more often by cutting something off back then lmfao. Slowly firearms came into play and it was the same thing just people were shot
That's just a European joke mostly. Every country in Europe has their shtick and the rest kind of poke fun at them in a friendly way honestly. France didn't lose every war by far lmfao. They wouldn't be standing to this day if unless they won a great deal of wars
In the middle ages, Paris was already standing at some point in the kingdom of Frankia. It was so notoriously impenetrable supposedly that even Vikings had a hard time.
everyone underestimates a wall of week old baguettes
Napoleon? During Napoleon people were really scared of France lmao
The vertically challenged ones are always the most vicious
Time travel would be a interesting concept if you could do it
I remember in Russian history they were good Allies when a Tzar ruled. Then he like died and his son took over. His son decided to not honor the friendships of his father. Tbh he seemed to not give two craps in general about what he worked for lmfao. So he decided it was a good idea to take Paris for some reason lmfao
You can effectively wipe out an entire species by going to the correct time and killing them
why not? Paris is nice in the spring time. Paris in the summer this years is a bit hit n miss though
That resulted in the infamous Russian occupation of France. But a lot of people cut the story short of what happened next. Napoleon basically got really pissed (righteously so) and set out to strike Moscow back. Problem was he used up basically all military power on the offensive strike.
Ultimately, Napoleon was marching toward Moscow and they were shitting their pants lol
They even burned down Moscow themselves because that was only option for not letting French walk out with any real gains of value. Kinda coward move if you ask me
But yeah. Under Napoleon, France didn't seem to be losing every war like everybody jokes. He even made people so scared like Moscow that France won war before arriving lmfao
Uh, Napoleon took close to his entire army in casualties during the invasion of russia
Then he also like captured the Rosetta Stone idk. Isn't Rosetta Stone to this day in Paris? I mean that's a hella indicator of what France was doing
Yeah but if that's so, at least they are casualties of soldiers in his army. Moscow at that point was no soldiers remaining pretty sure. It was just civilians taking to arms with like rakes and shovels lol.
No?
They had an army, but they chose to attrit Napoleon instead of fighting in open battle
Napoleon was absolutely not prepared to invade Russia
But yeah tbh at that point, nobody won. It was really stupid war in the first place. Literally close compadres France and Russia. But Tsar's son was piece of crap for some reason and attacked him. Idk if Napoleon was even anticipating the entire time until he showed up lmao.
No, Napoleon invaded Russia to try to get them to comply with his blockade of the UK
Not sure about that. But I know there was a point where he retaliated on Moscow for attacking first. Before that, they were good Allies with Russia. I remember it was written to make it sound like the Tsar and him were actual good friends personally lmao.
No, the invasion of Russia was not caused by some invasion of france
Napoleon invaded Russia because they didn't want to blockade Britain because it was shit for their economy
Yeah looks like I'm mixing something up. Says there were a lot of Battles between Russia and France just in 1800s lol
Still, though, case and point: way more of them say French victory under result lmao. So even in 1800s, I guess either way, Russia lost way more to France. Draw your own conclusions lmfao
Nah
Napoleon lost his reputation in his invasion of Russia
He went from having the largest army in Europe to having uh
Very much not that
He lost something like 3/4 of the force that marched into Russia
Utterly ruinous casualties
I remember hearing in a history podcast that is was largely started on a whim when Napoleon exploded at a russain ambassador during a dinner
Well, Russia decided to stop complying with a treaty to blockade Britain because it was terrible for the Russian economy, and they also weren't a fan of France gaining control over Warsaw
he was almost always throwing his entire military power on offensive strikes
Maybe. If that same battle you're referring to is indeed the same one with the self-started fire of all Moscow, then yeah, makes sense lol. He literally lost to civilians taking up arms after burning down their own sht
No, he lost to having shit logistics
him going through the alps is a good example ~ he threw most of what he had through it
And nobody who has shit logistics is that good as a military leader
?
Most of his casualties were to weather and supply issues, not combat
Lions Led By Donkeys has a fantastically hilarious analysis/play-by-play of his invasion
He was not prepared to invade Russia
But honestly, perhaps even if that were true, there's an element of seriousness to it. It's a bad tactical decision to go into a battle agains partisans all around. First of all, you're fighting desperate civilians who've no choice left but to defend themselves. Secondly, it's probably a very exhausting battle to even finish
No, he didn't lose because of partisans
Those supply issues were because of the raw amount of troops he had there ~ not because the logistics were shit
They didn't help, but unless Russian partisans can call down blizzards they didn't cause most of the casualties
they were consuming double of what the supply train could give ~ he was relying on a quick victory to solve that problem
what do you call "not being able to support the number of troops you have"
it's shit logistics
🤣
if you can't feed and clothe your entire army
then you're incompetent
So what are good logistics? non-existent
Fun fact, in that time, when a Russian was drafted into military service, his village would hold his funeral, with him present, before he left for war
he needs to reduce troop numbers for anything in those logistics to get better
good logistics are not losing tens of thousands of men to starvation
and he's on the offense here
it's not as if he had no choice in the matter
Not invading serbia during the winter is a good logistical start
he's the one who decided to gather a massive army that his logistics system was incapable of supporting into Russia
Well I mean still I feel like it's easy to look at the ending even if he did truly lose respect from everyone for some reason. I mean if you consider any leader of an army, they all eventually get killed by their enemy. At that point, you're going out either way. It's only a question of are you going out like a champ or not.
He knew his supply system could not support those troops ~ he was trying to force the russians into a decisive battle
if you take an army that you know you cannot supply, then you're a fucking moron
Yeah you have 0 idea what you're talking about
uh huh
Well that's actually the thing. If you can't supply your army, what do you do? Surrender or give up?
Go take a read then come back https://apps.dtic.mil/sti/pdfs/AD1022125.pdf
you don't take that army into an invasion of Russia
reconsidering Napoleon’s Russia campaign with a better understanding of the supply methods he
implemented reveals that Napoleon was aware of his supply limitations yet let his personal
ambition overcome his discretion creating the tragic events of this campaign.```
napoleon was big dum
"but he actually knew this was stupid" does not make it any better
"im gonna pull something out of context and call someone smarter than me stupid"
Literally if you consider what you're suggesting the correct decision would have been, I guess yeah, it wouldn't cost your own army's lives. It would be the logical choice in the sense of protecting the lives of your own army
ah yes
the entire sentence, presented as written, is taken out of context
eventual invasion of Russia, he knew that his supply system could not support his 675,000-man
army for very long.```
Yes it is out of context, because you need to look at the full picture of the report...
planned on and counted on a quick victory in which the right wing of his army would swing
behind the 1st Russian Army preventing them from retreating and forcing them to fight a
decisive battle. Also, indicating that Napoleon counted on a quick victory was that he ordered 18
days of provisions with a 6-day reserve ration accompany his soldiers indicating that he expected
only the conflict to last two weeks; before the grande armée used its initial supply issue and
became dependent on his supply system.```
"home by christmas boys"
planning only for the best is incompetence
Napoleon was not forced into making these decisions
Basically if you have no way to win a battle, as a leader of your army you have two options:
Fight and lose
Surrender and still lose
Both of them are considered military failures
he was the one who took initiative
Read the entire report without just nitpicking, and consider his previous combat experience, then get back to us 👍
Russia campaign must be attributed to his constant belief that he could force the Russians to a
decisive battle despite the late campaign season.```
I agree though. I mean surrendering no matter what at least has some chance of preserving the lives of your troops. As a leader, it's your duty to make decisions with that in mind. However, that's contrary to the idea of why any war is fought in the first place
did you actually read this paper
at no point does it suggest that napoleon was not responsible for the disastrous campaign
I have not once argued that he was not responsible
then what the fuck are you wasting electricity for
napoleon's decision to invade russia using an army he knew his logistics could not support based on the belief that it would be a quick two week battle is pure incompetence
I'm not saying that he wasn't. In fact, as the general, I'd agree that he should be ultimately the vast majority of the blame lol. I mean ultimately he's the one who makes all decisions on the largest scales lol
maybe he was going insane in his old age, as autocrats tend to do
but it was incompetence nontheless
selling 3 cent trading cards
🤷♂️ yeah but like he said 0,03cents out of thin air
What I'm saying is that all of it is irrelevant. The whole thing started with me just pointing out how France losing all wars is just a meme. It's by far not the truth irl. In fact, it's quite the opposite clearly. France is literally its own country in Europe today lmfao
That means it withstood like 1000 years at least of European climate
🤔 like if you create an bot that automates the buying and refunding the games 🤷♂️
france was militarily powerful for centuries, yes, but their performance in ww2 is the most recent major battle they participated in, and it really went poorly
you can kind of argue that they got screwed a little by their neighbors, but they made plenty of unforced errors
the modern french military is pretty decent, but they also haven't participated in any peer conflict for decades
Yeah exactly lol. The only place that joke really comes from in fact is ww2 basically
napeoleon was ahead of his time and ww2 france was behind their time
German blitzkrieg tactics absolutely demolished the french and their trench warfare
Even if they manned the belgian border ~ they still would have lost. and it wouldn't have made sense to man the belgian border either because belgium would have been "wtf are you putting hundreds of thousands of troops on my border"
blitzkrieg has nothing to do with germany.. "blitzkrieg" is the name the british gave it when the germans did it, even though it was more or less the standard military tactic of the time
Ahh fuck
several high profile germans said "blitzkrieg" is a stupid name
Sound like more riot is gonna happen
and this is not relevant to my point at all
the french military was held back by near-imperial japan levels of infighting and their terrible doctrine
Should i say German modern tactics? it effectively means the same thing in this context.
Honestly though at least France or even Soviets didn't have a pact that lasted a second longer after the invasion actually began
it sounds as good as some movie actor with supposed geran names
Cough cough Italy but they stopped. Cough cough Japan :P
like tf jesse eisenberg the way englisch/american ppl spells german names is just infurating
it is, because you said its "blitzkrieg tactics absolutely demolished the french"... not really.. the french would have known how to defend against it... what let germany steam roll frace, is that 1. they are next door. 2. the germans were sneeky about it. 3. they did it by surprise and with disinformation
I mean come to think of it, there were certain other things which may or may not have been worse than fighting then losing lol
the UK didnt get steamrolled, because we have the advantage of being an island
I mean, if you don't detect a large buildup of an enemy military that's your fault
the UK didn't get steamrolled because you had american convoys and hitlers sympathy
yes the uk's are island apes
no lmao
the UK has a whole fucking body of water there
Wait why did you ping me? Am i the only french one here?
UK without american convoys would have been a shell of a country
Oi the UK held because they were tough lads lmao.
Germany was never able to challenge the RN, and any attempted invasion would've been fucked
yes
Spitfires. Literally spitfires were a breakthrough against Luftwaffe no?
Eh
do tough lads need help from the us?
Imma try to make french à protected Species then
the americans didnt get involved in ww2 until close to the end... the royal navy during ww2, was second to none, and the spitfire finished it off
yes, an island nation without its empire and allies has limited resources, which is why the UK invested so heavily into those things
Not really... the french didn't understand how important radios and communication was. the germans did
Yet the americans were bankrolling the UK and soviets since near the start
UK without american oil would have been gone
and germany without soviet oil would've been fucked too, what's your point
the americans back then, had no money to bank roll a roll of toilet paper
🤣
if you're denying the americans bankrolling even the soviets, dunno what to tell you
germany never would've been able to invade the UK
Entire world needed help tbh. The thing with nationalizing 'socialist' economy where society is basically everybody in tank... literally in an instant by unilateral decision by one guy... they're hella efficient economically lol.
Well how would Germany be able to invade an Island as fast as we got shit on?
they're not efficient, but they can be very focused for a while
Exactly lol.
the huge body of water, and the ability to easily defend that body of water, is why the uk didnt get steamrolled... if we WERE connected to mainland europe on 2 of our 4 sides... probably would have gone a different direction... but that natural barrier, which is very common in stopping aggression throughout history (any aggressor that comes up against a natural barrier, generally stops if they cant go through it or over it)
Sealion was not executed because of lack of air superiority ~ hardly because of the RN. They instead decided to divert resources towards Barbarossa instead of wasting time
But sadly, the entire portion where it booms is the worst threat lmfao. Also it can easily last for long enough for everybody to get screwed. There are other things like supposedly Soviets playing a key role in stopping them from getting to kavkaz oil reserves
No idea what half of those Name are to be honest
Some say if he made it there, it would have been perhaps gg no re right there
sea lion was not executed because it was nearly impossible and would've been an utter waste of everybody's time and money
not having air superiority wouldn't help, but you can hardly expect to land an invasion force while the enemy's navy overmatches your own
without air superiority you having a better navy doesn't help you
Well what was spitfire revolutionary for? Wasn't it synchronized machineguns through prop? Or am I confusing with another prop engine breakthrough
also, didnt the uk crack the german encryption standards... 3 or 4 different times, so we could listen in or read in to what they were saying... and knew their plans... and then the amercians picked up 1 machine, after the war had finished, and declared they did all the work and they are the best?
...No? the Enigma machine was widely covered as being decrypted by Turing
the americans stole a machine after the war had finished, before we told them that we cracked it without the machine
Can somebody explain to me how did this turn into à history debate ?
You needed an enigma machine to crack one
something about the fr*nch
and they used that to claim they cracked it... even though alan turing and his team at bletchly park cracked it without one
Damn
Turing yeah there's a whole side lore to it. But yeah that's another thing tbh. The british literally managed to break their cryptography and finally give allies intel on where the naval attacks were planned
again, they did not crack it without one
How did it go off tracks that badly?
They used a external codebreaker, and used an enigma machine to actually use the data produced
they cracked naval enigma by intercepting cypher text and looking for the patterns, and cryptographic weaknesses in it
Random question, but any recommendations for a wireless gaming headset for pc? Probably around £100 - £200 budget. Thanks! 🙂
The codebreaker told you the settings required to input into enigma machine to decrypt the encrypted messages another enigma machine produced... with guess what, an enigma machine
The Enigma cipher machine, said to be unbreakable. Alan Turing had a pivotal role in cracking Enigma codes during WWII. Professor Brailsford takes us through just what Turing and his team were up against.

Was the thing Turing invented specifically what broke the codes a Turing Machine though?
the bombe
it was the early basics of what became the turing machine
Because I'm not sure if he was entirely responsible for that. Before him, there were actually concepts already. Analytical machines or something
and by basics... i mean, not at all basic 🙂
Poland was the entity that gave the basics on how to do any of it
the seeds of bombe came from poland, but turing figured out how to get it over the line
Ada Lovelace I think her name was actually was an example of earlier thing that looked like some programmed thing. Here I don't know much. But she did it all on paper
Well I mean to this day, some people are figuring out just the part how to get the bomb over the line lol. North Korea, for instance. They have the bomb. Just gotta get it to its destination
I mean the scare was irl that they said they figured out ICBM. Intercontinental Great People's Korea is dangerous People's Korea.
you think the fact that they can get missiles to leave visible range, isnt being used as propaganda within NK to say they have already hit certain places, like japan?
people of NK are so scared of kim, because of the propaganda and misinformation, and brain washing within the country... wouldnt surprise me at all if this was part of it
I believe that even Japan is a stretch. They have to at least get the M portion at the end. In order for it to be missle, the payload and the rocket have to operate separately.
wdym people in north korea love kim they vote for him every time!
I genuinely feel like NK might still be struggling with the payload bomb burning up with the fuel very often lmfao
In which case, they're back from ICBM to just bomb which it carries. It just has additional blast coming from attachment that looks like it boosts in one direction
I may love using Samsung phones but fuck off, my current phone works perfectly fine
Those photos I swear if you ever looked at them closely, the rockets weren't even real. Unless it was doctored idk.
But why would you need to make up any propaganda against NK really? Nobody thinks it's doing well enough for one to consider its quality of life beyond hellish
There are perhaps many places way worse and poorer than North Korea. And definitely less 'peaceful' ones with active wars and even genocides going on atm...
That's where all the money goes to
Iirc the UN sent money to nk for food and shit but they dumped that money into nukes
But there's a difference between NK and all the rest because with NK you're talking about the state itself and the people together. There's literally no oppressor really in that context.
north korea has shot missiles over japan numerous times
True. Actually right I remember that.
firing the missile and getting it that far isn't very hard... reliably doing so is
I mean that's still not intercontinental. In fact that's probably one of the closest real places they can threaten.
Mike Hughes successfully launched his homemade rocket into orbit in the Mojave desert.
let's just say that if nk launched nukes to kill, south Korea will become a island nation if you get my meaning
But consider this: did anybody really take it seriously? Like yeah... they're going to aim the next one to hit Japan. Lmfao first of all USA unlike them, has many ICBMs
And they will all be launched simultaneously at NK. In fact, US has contractual obligation no?
average joe vs country with budget of $4,000,000,000+
I saw that Russian guy who made a sort of undercover exposee on NK
Is that propaganda? I mean it's actual recordings from the looks of it lmfao. They'd have to be faked
they'd get nuked on important infrastructure and that's as far as it would go. after that i'd be land invasion from south korea hopefully faster than china can get in
Ballistic missiles and nuclear bombs are literally WW2 technology
It's not surprising that north Korea has managed them
ICBMs are 50s tech but yes
wernher von braun wasnt it?
Germany might not've developed icbms in WW2 but they still had ballistic missiles
Iirc the first icbm was based on the Sputnik platform
The whole thing is they say NK still can't launch nukes all the way to USA. Even if they did, the estimates were not even entire portion of California coast. But I remember it included SF or LA not sure. But still... so what? You hit one of the major cities in Cali? You're dead because the rest of States will erase literally the chunk of land your country stands on
ah, yes, it was... wernher von braun, who ran the entire rocket program for germany... and then was then poached by the USA after the war
Yes, but the point is that north Korea isn't even close to being worth it if we lose LA or SF or something
They can reach Japan sure. But again, nobody really acted like it was doomsday scenario. If they strike Japan, exact same thing as before. US made a pact after WW2 wherein they are obliged to defend them if somebody attacked
same launch vehicle
"x people dying is fine because x more people will die"
also, the best defence against a nuclear attack, is to just let it go... admit that it happened and not respond with more nukes... responding with more nukes leads to escalation.. .and if somebody has used nukes, that target has already gone, and, that attacker has shown their willingness to murder whole cities, if you retaliate against them, they will know they are boned and just launch everything and go out in a blaze of glory
It's just a grim statistic at that point
No lmao
The best defense against a nuclear attack is to have nukes of your own
Well no actually tbh nuking either LA or SF is a crazy amount of people dying. If NK did that unprovoked with nuke, I mean they're the evil ones 100%. They killed millions of innocent people.
However, maybe it might not get to that. The US might also be able to shoot down their missle
Depends on the country. USA has a nuclear strike defense system and china might also have one
You particularly want submarines equipped with nuclear missiles out at sea at all times
thats the pre-emptive defence, the actual defence once you have been hit, is to not wave your dick about
That would be optimal scenario. US shoots down missle before it hits from NK. The only ones who are starting to have a chance at getting past US missle defense is China pretty sure...
The actual defense once you have been hit is to perform a full counterforce strike
Like tbh yeah NK still probably can't even get past US defense even if they had range. So whatever.
which with evenly matched countries, would lead to both countries being equally wiped out... who wins there?
The rest of the world
Well, the rest of the world is probably fucked since they'll also be getting nuked
not at all... large parts of the world will now be uninhabitable, and the fallout will be everywhere
But at least whoever survived will probably know to avoid using nuclear weapons
It's a grim statistic, not a win nor loss
Yes, that's the point
nobody wins, everybody loses... full counter attack is the worst possible response
Japan is a different story though. It's actually bad because US doesn't have that defense there. If anything, it's nowhere close to what USA has protecting them. Maybe surface to air naval or something idk. But NK probably would have the best chance if they hit Japan. That's for certain
again, depends on country. USA, and Russia have capability to cause complete nuclear fallout and block the worlds sunlight
No, full counterforce strike is the best response
So same thing tbh except now a lot of people die.
Usage of nuclear weapons cannot be tolerated
A nuclear strike from NK has no chance of causing significant fallout that affects the world in its entirety
so, to stop them using any more of their own, you use up all of yours? so its tolerated if you do it, but not if they do it?
But either way, US will have to step in. Stepping in means maybe nuclear response at NK. It sucks, yeah... but NK is now active threat launching nukes. No other choice.
If there gonna be a nuke I'm gonna have downloaded music and a generator
Yes exactly
No?
If they're deploying nuclear weapons then you are about to be destroyed, so your only choice is to kill them first
Download all the songs that's in fallout
This is of course assuming that nukes are being used offensively
and if they are thinking the same way as you? what if they think they are justified in the same way you think you are justified?
If they're deploying tactical nuclear weapons as a warning shot as in French doctrine, you should probably back off
its just that they happened to have a quicker trigger finger than you
However, if they're conducting strategic strikes on your nuclear weapons and cities, you need to kill them back before you lose all your weapons
if everyones thought process was this ~ there would be no crime, but guess what bud!
Why are you nuking each other to begin with?
I'll chime in. Not in near future, but eventually someone will create a dirty bomb. Like in The Sum of All Fears. Amazing book btw.
That's all I have, have a good one gals, guys and all dogs present in chat.
Basically every nuclear power's doctrine only allows the usage of nuclear weapons as a final defensive measure
NK I think is a special exception though. My whole point. They can't even reach the entire globe. They might not even be able to get through west of where NATO starts in the north. They might not be able to get one through to USA at all either
they can certainly get one to the USA
Yes, but the point is that it's not worth it to anybody to lose a city or two in exchange for... What?
Fuck it, I'm gonna start a pirate radio station that plays the music in the fallout radios if we get nuked
lets say the tensions between USA and China heat up... and both of them have their finger on the button... but china blinks first... what does the usa gain, by pressing that button too?
Not getting destroyed
My orthodontist asked me if I played any sports I said no I don’t and my dad rlly said “he’s lazy” 💀💀💀
Neither country is deploying nukes unless they're about to be invaded
USA has a defense system against nuclear strikes
"Why are you defending yourself against this criminal about to kill you"
It's not as effective if you have a mirv missile
no, because if they only send 1, because they only pressed 1 button... to destroy 1 particular place...

Nobody is ever only firing a single strategic strike
The only time you will ever see a limited strike is when you are planning on land invading them later
there is defending yourself, and then there is revenge on top of that... defending yourself is stopping it from happening... revenge is stabbing the mugger after you have knocked them down
At most they might use a single tactical strike to draw a line in the sand, but even that's only for existential threats
china wouldnt hurt the usa the sell so much to us and we inport them food
Ah yes
If someone stabs me, the correct response is to give them all my things
You're basically saying we should take their magazine but leave a round in the chamber.
Again, they might have range to hit like a bit of west coast, sure. And already what good is only reaching one or two major cities in of States. States I feel like you only stand a chance if you can get the entire thing all at once lol.
But apart from having intercontinental reach (slow clap), there's also the very important factor of having capabilities of getting through (US so the best in the world perhaps) missle defense systems
i never said that you should do that.. i said the correct response is to knock them the fuck out.... but stopping short of stabbing them back
No?
That's not how nuclear weapons work at all
How the fuck do you "knock someone out" with nukes?
Stabbing à stabber back Sound like a british thing to do
stabbing somebody is how we say "hello" in the north
And arguably even more technology has to go into making the missles good enough to get by US defense. US that's for sure lmfao. China is still sweating for certain things... from the looks of it.
His argument is basically saying we should let them point a gun at us, take the magazine from them and leave a bullet in the chamber
Doesn't really seem like they've put much thought into this
Thé autocorrect
im saying... if they fire 1, and then it somehow hits... and then nothing else is on its way.... what does the usa gain from firing back? other than pride?
Damn, yall are weird up there
Safety from them firing another
there is no surefire way of seeing if they will or will not send another
That's not a thing
but they have them spread out all over the planet, same as you do... you would need to send all of yours
Nukes are bad
So you also have to have speed. I think it's hypersonic already if you want to give any defense system a hard time. Altitude used to be a key competition point in cold war between soviets and US. They literally would try to fly over the other one at higher altitudes to the point where it was out of reach
Nobody has a nuclear policy where they only nuke one city
No? you would do a strike and invade them.
Légalisé nuclear bomb
If you're nuking cities and nuclear silos, then you're going for all or nothing
NK vs USA is the equivalent of a mouse trying to stand up against a blue whale
I'm starting a radio station that has old music if we get nuked
Nuclear warning strikes are targeted at conventional military formations and targets which are acceptable losses to the enemy
Nobody will accept the loss of a major city or nuclear weapon
personally, im all for nuclear disarmment, but im also realistic enough to know its never going to happen... the planet needs to forget how to create nuclear weapons, and just leave it as a relic of the past... but... too much big dick swinging goes on for that to be allowed to be a thing
Put eminem
"forget how to create nuclear weapons" 🤣
Nah nah, I'm thinking 1930-1960ish
Frank sinatra is one of them
Dont care put Eminem
the USA forgot how to make certain types of nuclear weapon because the people who made certain parts of it, retired... and they had to unretire them to get that institutional knowledge back.
Nah, that aint prime post apocalyptic music
Meanwhile USA destroyer in middle of North Atlantic:
Fires giant EM mass driver "railgun" slug the weight of 12 artillery shells. Hits precisely on point; the target was great pyramids in Egypt

We didn't forget how to make nuclear weapons, we forgot how to make a component of them and we can't conduct nuclear tests anymore so we had to go for a perfect recreation
not relevant ~ we still have people who know how to make rockets which is step 1
and a kid in fucking high school knows how to make a payload
Put some Rock and roll if we ever get fucked and need some fighting music
Apparently US can actually hit North Atlantic to Egypt pyramids and even land on mark. Like just think about it...
Doom eternal ost?
SpaceX and NASA exists ~ the only other required knowledge is the bomb, which any nuclear physicist can do
Yes
That's not even missle
you both seem to be far too invested in the world having ways to destroy it self, feels very brainwash-y
Okay, two radio stations, old music and fighting music
You seem to not understand how modern nuclear policy works, which is a very odd thing to be deficient in while discussing nuclear weapons
Add sad music and Victory music
That's intercontinental projectile lmfao. It's the same exact thing as you'd only ever see in video games called 'railgun slug'. Only it's upscaled like 100x and flies across continent
i understand it quite well, but when pulling out hypotheticals for you, you seem to be completely incapable of applying your knowledge to those hypotheticals... i never said my hypotheticals were realistic or real world policy... im speaking about idealised ways of thinking... but yeah, if you cant get that... then thats fine
i do understand your way of thinking ~ it's just stupid.
it's entirely ignoring human emotion and logic
No you don't lmao
"What if they only nuke one city"
Nobody is going to fucking do that
The loss of a city to a nuclear weapon is not an acceptable loss to any nation
as i said, you are incapable of understanding hypothetical scenarios because you are so indoctrinated
That should tell you how futile it is arguing that somebody like NK who is just figuring out ICBM range clearly has a chance against US or maybe most places with just NATO defense systems. USA literally already redefined ICBM as intercontinental crazy ballistic mass. No propulsion. Just sauce. Raw sauce. Boom. You don't know
It's a massive escalation that requires a similar response
Your proposal to "back down" after they nuke your population center will see you beheaded in public and then the rest of your country will get nuked
Why not just ctrl z on the nukes
Talking about something with that kind of serious in theme and detail as a hypothetical doesn't sound like something anyone would take to lightly, so I think their response to it is natural and should've be expected, in my opinion.
Well hypotheticals aside, there is an insane number of real life factual things to look at. For instance, again, if NK nuked Japan (maybe even just any waters which are Japan's and not international)... US had signed a pact long ago in which it will be obliged to step in.
like the escalation in ukraine, not quite nuclear yet, but they have fired everything else at them... and the whole worlds response was "lets talk about it, and argue about it, and then maybe send them some stuff at some point", or before that, the escalation where they just stole a huge part of ukraine, and the world just said "fuck it, its shit anyway, let them have it"
None of those are even close to the deployment of nuclear weapons against population centers
Irl, your only hypotheticals remain: how will US stepping in look like? You just gotta think of any practical likely way they will attempt to as quickly as possible and most efficiently neutralize the now immediate threat which is NK gone nuclear offensive.
And the invasion of Ukraine wouldn't even be considered if they had been able to afford to maintain their nukes
the yeild of the weapon is the only factor in the level of retaliation? not the indiscriminate killing of thousands, the crippling of world economics, and that it happened over the course of a year...
Yeah, you don't actually understand what nukes do
if they just did a single strike that killed the same number of people... that would warrant world retaliation... even though the same number of people died?
You seem to fundementally misunderstand what nukes are, why we have them and how they're expected to be used
you seem to fundamentally be indoctrinated into the military complex way of thinking and are incapable of thinking any other way than what you have been told to think
Nuking NK into oblivion isn't that unimaginable. You have now a hostile which already made a nuclear strike unprovoked. One way or another, mass destruction of everything that is NK land isn't out of the question. When you think about it, it is already known that any possible positions where a next nuclear missle will launch from is exclusively in NK. Where? Well until you find out exactly what is and isn't a deployed launch site, it's an area with potential threat
this is getting petty
Ah yes
You know what the military industrial complex really wants
The world to end
That's gonna be really great for them, being nuked into oblivion
Nothing major strategic targets like more than unrestricted nuclear warfare
Sometime i Wonder how the fuck its possible to go From the french gouvernement spying on us to this
Launching a nuke at Japan is petty already. In fact, it would be suicidal. There's literally no reason on Earth for NK itself to just decide to nuke anybody in the west or east. Max like Kim Jong Un got ridiculed enough to the point where he decided to make everybody 'regret their words'
Nuclear war? Well, the stock market doesn't exist anymore (it was nuked) but if it did stonks
Lockheed Martin to the moon bois
Uuuhhh from an on-the-surface point of view, pretty sure nukes do a significant amount of damage that is also quite lasting and even harms the environment so significantly that it takes years before anything comes back.
humans are useless at times
If that is the context of that statement anyway.
So I personally can't think of any scenario where NK would nuke anybody that isn't literal analogy to Kim Jong Un or just the leadership of NK being that kid teased on playground and spasing out
Everybody gets in trouble in the end lol.
North Korea has nukes
- to prevent them from being invaded and
- to saber rattle when they need food aid
Yeah... but nobody wants to invade North Korea lol. If anybody wanted to, it would have been done already, don't you think?
Well, they have to be sure in case China gets fed up with the kims
Lmfao even China and Russia are just helping them minimally by deporting all escaped nationals back to North Korea (where they get gulaged or killed). Kinda sad. Honestly, I'm primarly concerned with Russia. Like I understand but NK escapees in my eyes must be given refugee status unconditionally 100% of time
Also on a side note, I'm surprised this topic hasn't been shutdown by moderation and such. Then again, what even is the limit? Is this sort of topic allowed anyway, and to what capacity?
China allows NK federal operatives to act on its soil with full power over just its own nationals
my pc just came in
Maybe they're all European
China basically same thing as Russia only they also don't wanna deal with it. Basically if you want your escapees returned, do it yourself lmfao

Russia apparently nobody tries to escape through. It's pointless.
It's all China. They have to go rogue and then make it out of China. The next country as well. Then like ocean and Australia or something
Bit harder now
But yeah escaping NK is difficult to say the least
Again, go on YouTube and search I think Sergey whatever his name is. He literally got tourist clearance into NK but secretly filmed documentary on it
It literally shows NK. You can easily tell the part you're intended to see and what he was secretly filming which would suck if he got caught lol. Same went for all nationals he interviewed. Everyone would get gulag lmfao. They even said so themselves
humans are terrible people
Anyone or anything can be considered terrible people.
Not true. There are terrible ones and there are great ones. It is possible to be perfect but nearly impossible.
I mean if you jail a serial killer psychopath or worse yet somebody with nothing wrong about them... they just chose to make people suffer...
you'd save a lot of people from being their victims (which they told you wouldn't stop so long as they were able to keep going). The only way you'd do that is by jailing them for life or capital punishment
new idea, let aliens take over
Ill Pass
But as soon as you do that to them, you've technically done the same exact evils unto them. You caged them and took away their fundamental physical freedoms or you took their life.
They turn out to be the ones from Independence Day, who just want to destroy every world like the "locusts" they are, making them even worse.
Ayo i know this sound weird, but yall have any tips on buying shirts? Bc sum just attract every little piece of dust/hair etc. while others barely do
💀
Damn it, I need a better light bulb
The 2 source gotta be my buddy Keith
My buddy keith says nuh uh
Also not true. Each person can do things to others which if reversely done to them would result in stripping those same actions and choices
Balls.
So basically if somebody takes your life, they'd taken away from you the ability to ever do those same things as a living human being of the same.
Actually, it is true because it's a point of view. One can say or believe anyone or anything is terrible and it would be because that's what they decided it was.
It wasn't because it actually was or not, it's because it's believed to be.
It's not true in actuality, but rather it's a viewpoint that can applied to anyone or thing, and that's why it can be said "they are terrible", for it's an opinion made in personal judgement of the individual or thing.
balls
True
In short, because it's an opinion made, it's basically true to the one with the opinion themselves because they "said so". It's not going to be true to anyone else automatically, but it's true to the one saying it.
Oh really? Then consider taking your own life. If you look closely, there's nothing you can really argue there about it being different somehow. You have the freedom to choose whether or not you will do it. But the moment you decide to take your own life, you make a decision which if carried out will take away your own freedom to make the same decisions from that point going forward
i drank liquid metal 👽
So basically the very same freedoms can have at least one choice resulting in losing the very same thing allowing something in the first place. Idk.
are yall having a fancy arguement or something?? i think bro told other bro to k themselves
And how do you think it will matter to anyone else knowing about it?
What would say about it? What would they come to believe?
The answer would whatever they decided for themselves to believe.
Like for instance...
"That's terrible they did that."
I have no argument against 'I drank liquid metal'.
lmao
I don't know why did that, buuuut okay.
Weird.
You already drank it. I mean I have an argument that you should never do it again. And depending on how much of which metal, I also might argue that you should seek medical attention immediately
nuh uh, i was thirsty
Yuh uh

So you went to closest place you could pour out a cup of liquid mercury? Was water not an option?
water was an option, its just that it was shiny and i wanted to drink it
Where on earth do you have readily available cupfulls of LHg but there's no water nearby lmfao. I'd imagine you're in a place that even has distilled pure H2O. Clean liquid mercury idk I can only thing of some laboratory. That and old thermometers
Yeah well if it's metallic colored, from now on, don't ingest. Literally never an indicator that it's edible for humans.
mmm yummy yummy mercury
I know people in the old days when they were kids legit broke open thermometer and rolled the mercury around in their mouth. They spat it out in the end because even as stupid kids I guess they felt that they shouldn't swallow it in the end
hmmn... amazon have just refunded me for the nvme drive that my NAS is currently running its OS from... because according to them, i never received it
w?
But legit I mean the way they explained was it looked pretty cool just like you said. It's kind of liquid but makes these little ball droplets. It also slides around on things like it's freakin on ice I think
But in the end, they defs didn't spit out all the mercury. No way. A bunch of it went down esophagus. Could have been many more times than enough to get into bloodstream and fatally poison is what I always like to stress
I have to get oral surgery 😭😭😭
It's just that it didn't all go into bloodstream. Let that be a lesson. Mercury at much smaller doses than people get exposed. Just usually they don't get exposed in the worst ways. Literally amounts are certain death in front of them and they don't realize.
Chemical labels. Read them. If there's a skull, don't let any of it be exposed to your body. Best way is to stay away from them altogether. Unless you actually have to use them
Mercury though... what practical uses does average person have for room temperature mercury by itself in the open. Even thermometers closed it in and they replaced it because still not worth lol
So tooth extraction?
room temperature mercury is used heavily in making glass
less dangerous than liquid tin
Yeah but again is making glass a part of everyday life for average person? And even in that process, is it really open to anybody? I mean it's probably open to anything as long as it's not breathing humans lmfao
Nah it’s something in my gums, they said something ab a tissue and that’s what’s causing my two front teeth to be kinda pushed out
Unless they are wearing respirator which can filter out mercury vapors.
Oh. Idk then tbh. Sounds like reason to get something done though.
Yeah I’m going to cause than it’s kinda just a waste of money if I get bracists just for them to go back to the way they were
Did they not tell you how or why this tissue is there? Or what it is? Sounds weird.
They prolly did but I was barely paying attention 😭😭😭 that’s why I always have ny dad with me
And when they asked if I had any questions I just said I didn’t
Well best of luck on your surgery.
If they can remove something to help it which isn't the front two teeth themselves that's already a major plus. Also probably not the most complicated surgeries even out of just dental ones.
They said it’s just a minor surgery which is good
I was going to say if it's getting tooth pulled, the worst case scenario is wisdom tooth lmfao. Wisdom teeth the only ones I definitely can't pull out on my own. I actually need another one out as we speak but kind of procrastinating..
They said I should get my wisdom tooth removed but I’m not gonna do that yet
Well in terms of surgeries in general, they say minor surgery I remember for like hernia operation. It's a tiny incision and they only put stitches in muscle lol. But for dental surgeries, they are technically surgeries but it's nothing even close to the rest
Help
brother mines is saying the same+wanting me to get braces again but I am like I already dealt with braces when I was a kid I am not going to go through the pain once again
The thing is I’m about to get braces so I don’t wanna go through 2 surgery’s and get braces all in the same year
That's why I was asking. My follow up question would have been what was exact reason you were told to get rid of your wisdom teeth (however many at once they suggested). It all depends on a very important factor primarily if that dental clinic is getting paid private fees of close to or more than 1000USD. Insurance or out of your own pocket doesn't matter
This all happened when I was at the orthodontics like right after an X-ray but the only reason I’m not gonna get my wisdom teeth removed right now is because I rlly don’t want to go through two surgeries while also getting braces cause it would also cost a lot
Because wisdom teeth are for some reason a common thing dentists push on people just for the sake of business. Literally you have no reason to pull them until they become a problem. But a lot of times it's like we should pull them now because they can eventually lead to those certain problems and they are the least useful teeth in your mouth; the use is practically zero
Like the braces it’s 6.3k but after insurance it’s 4k and then I don’t even know how much the surgery is to get the tissue removed
Right. That's the other thing. I was going to say that yeah tbh if your teeth are crooked in some way, I'm not sure if you could fix that right away with some procedure. Braces are probably the only way. Or retainers. Some sort of orthodontics long term.
I’m going to get braces but I also have to get the tissue removed
mines is through insurance. Fun thing is the original owners of this clinic sold it to a new owner and it took them about 3 months to even get my files out since they were in a box with old patient records. On top of that the original dentist that I was conforatble with went to a new clinic so I am in the process of changing to a new place again for the 2nd time lol
But two teeth I think don't have to be braces. Maybe even just permanent retainer wire behind teeth. It spans like just the top or bottom jaw where those two are and even then might not have to cover entirety of it
Right. The insurance means you're covered. Still, the clinic gets paid the same amount in the end one way or another. You'd be able to say it's no skin off your back if it didn't mean undergoing one of the most intense 'dental surgeries' for no reason at all as it relates to your health
yea I am just gonna chill for now. Too busy to even get my wisdom teeth out yet.
Which technically the dentist in a lot of those cases I recall shouldn't suggest to do right then and there. Unless there's no immediate visible threat... at least at any point in the future.
Truth is they should be able to tell by looking in most cases if there's even a possibility that your wisdom teeth will ever cause those unique problems once they've fully grown in all 4 of them
💅
Because if they fully crowned and there's enough space for them, that eliminates pretty much all of the problems specific to wisdom teeth. After that, the worst thing is like they're hardest to reach. So yes, technically you could say that of all teeth, statistically it's more likely that the wisdom teeth would get cavities first
But you should floss and brush everywhere regularly and make sure you don't leave damaging things on enamel. So long as you do that, no cavities should appear ever. If you can't reach your wisdom teeth or have too much of a hard time, then it's up to you to go on your own volition and ask to get them remove
You always consult first if it's a good idea, at which point they'll definitely say yes. Boom.
But again, my beef with this is sometimes dentists actually do 'recommend the best course of action' is to remove like as many as you can handle at once immediately just because they're the most problematic in general... and yet for that patient they are completely healthy. That's could be technically suggesting something which does put patient's health at risk with some higher likelihood.
I did that ironically since they referred me to different place. Atm it's not urgent so I have freedom to choose to do it whenever.
Right so long as they don't recommend now or as soon as possible for just good measure because they are most likely to get cavities studies show
Because I've known a few instances where people got offered like 2 surgeries asap to get all of them removed. There was nothing at all problematic even in the future. All four teeth crowned and have enough room.
Again, recommending extracting 4 of the biggest teeth immediately seems to be riskier to health regardless. If the person manages to floss and brush them, they may never get cavity lol. Literally they'll never have to get them pulled
Until they're really old. Tbh I don't even know about seniors. Like all teeth gone and they use dentures. Is it just the same thing happening as usual until they fall out one by one? Or is there some thing when you get really old that your teeth fall out lmfao
Honestly if I had like even 4 teeth left by the time I turned 85 (if I even lived that long), I'd just pull them out myself and get dentures lmfao
Oh yeah also that's probably the most common way. You have your dentist and the rest are basically equivalent of nurse. Depending on visit, they change name to like technician, hygienist etc. Tbh those also might need their own certifications.
But only the actual dentist is the doctor, right? Only that person ever looks at xrays they made or just live view of your mouth and makes assessment + recommendation. Because doctors do that. But then there's the surgeon lmao. Also doctor and dentist but they're the ones doing surgeries. So next level doctor. Mine isn't so I always have to wait for his own surgeon to come around like a month+ later
Atm it's not urgent
On the other hand, if wisdom teeth are an issue for you, it's always not an emergency until it is. Like 0 to 100 immediately. If it hurts even on rare occasion, remove it. Don't wait.
Irl consult doctor tbh because I'm not licensed lmfao. I mean if they said it's not urgent, it's not urgent.
I just don't know what that means though. It can't be urgent if you can see they will cause problems in the future. But when the future becomes now it's kinda bad. Personal experience.
are there any alternatives to homeassistant with similar device support??? starting to try and develop an integration for it and holy cow is this a complicated and poorly documented developer experience
with rthe PCMR line of products, maybe other creators or communitites will want to be on ltt store, and finally put creator warehouse to its namesake.
I love the idea of 'smart things'
So you have an api to somehow identify and 'access' anything that's a smart appliance. So any electronic for sure qualifies. How do you write anything further common in an api for like light switch and microwave? I guess they both have setState(bEnabled) is a nice way to do it. But irl microwave isn't on or off. It's cooking which you can probably simplify no further than an intSecondsRemaining. Zero means it's done. Enjoy. So its setState would take iSeconds. But also iPowerLevel which is usually like 4 possible choices lol.
So far smart thing you send: smartThingDoSmartWhateverAkaSetState(varargs params). I renamed setState because using an appliance does not really guarantee you even change some one universal state that relates to exactly the parameters of usage you pass in. Makes sense. Smart things do stuff.
Then your callback is a function pollSmartThing(varargs alsoAnything...)
Smart home video camera returns maybe pls or rtsp stream url. Door bell you don't get any information from. Washing machine you have current cycle, time left, bPaused and stopCode of some sort. Like if it's paused read stop code because it could be set to whatever means door open or lock failed.
I can still never figure out a way to poll a smart washing machine for drain pipe disconnected without adding some sensor there. Then I'd constantly query it and stop if possible without draining preferrably. Then again, if smart washing machine detected its plumbing disconnected, it would be smarter to stop on its own and not by some remote user through API
also Louis Rossman's experience.
Btw in all seriousness your solution could be just write an application that controls whatever it is you need on your network I guess. Then run whatever it is you want API for everything to be through. So web api? You could even use httpd + php script lmfao
I think they have integrations with alexa and the hub, you could write something for those and then just integrate it.
i mean google hub, not..not the other one.
Ultimately, I think security would be a big question. I mean if your home is controlled by api, I certainly would be a bit uneasy if it was just .htaccess and .htpasswd file using apache plain text auth module
my usecase is: i have a thermostat similar to linus. i noticed it has an open TCP port that sends some bytes whenever the compressor speed (heat pump) changes. i want to display that data in homeassistant
i have done most of the steps (including writing a python library to handle the data) but still cant seem to get HA to like my integration
Right. Thermostat is a common one. My father and his wife control hvac remotely over internet. That's pretty serious though. Definitely don't want that hacked right?
ive tried already, the thing is pretty impenetrable and also this is just all local network stuff anyway
If it sends anything on whichever ports, that's the very thing wrong with IoT imho.
You've got a network of discoverable home appliances. What's wrong with just configuring manually where and which home appliances sit? Your thermostat pinging somebody on tcp port out... I'd make sure that all of those outbound packets don't make it anywhere past LAN
out of curiosity, what would a hacker even do with a thermostat? burn the house up?
But now I'd also point out that your home network security has yet another thing predicated upon it. This time it's your HVAC in basement lol. So say you have wifi with no mac filter and youre still vulnerable to that CRACK attack on WPA2, somebody can just sit outside your place for like 30min
Even a couple hours is still nothing if they're determined to get in. After that period of time rekey and they do that magic by throwing phony null key frame or whatever. Boom. They got in without password.
Then they do the stuff anybody who likes to explore private networks would guaranteed minimum
Turn off hvac mid winter in toronto area. If you're out of town and the heat is off long enough, pipes freeze idk
If they set cold or hot enough for whichever season so that it's on 24/7, certainly racks up bill. That's damages costing real money
change the temperature
Well yeah but set to heat in summer 30+ C outside to max temp?
Idk maybe you have like cat getting taken care of by neighbor once every few days. But who knows maybe itll kill cat lol
Well the capabilities are whatever the smart home remote thermostat can do. So already, yeah, change temperature lol. But thermostat often times has like separate fan control. So turn air circulation off in house
guys i just got my pc can someone join and help me out lol
You could mess up house pretty bad in certain cases. Like mildew everywhere. Seriously humid air. That's pretty serious if you ask me. House rots + electronics idk but they certianly don't enjoy it
Another common remote thing of that nature I see for smart home is main water valve
Which I guess yeah comes in pretty handy... but how and when? You only really turn off the main valve when you're going on vacation. I can only imagine that if you ever need to remotely check or control it when you're away, it's to make sure that you didn't forget to turn it off. If you did, you remotely turn it off lmfao.
If you think about the appliance practically, you only ever turn it off when you're not using house. When you're in house, you pretty much have to open it regardless. Unless you're happy with not being able to flush toilet or wash hands after :P
If you think about it, you literally can't stay inside your house without eventually needing to use bathroom which means valve is on for reasons beyond even our control
Im seeing more water bottles, are these limited run?
Right but transporting in water for flushing is clearly mitigation of not having access to that very same thing. So like city's water is out for a while. Ok sure.
But again, if you consider how you ever use the main valve, all roads lead to remote = poll to make sure it's off; use for shut off if it isn't
Even polling any sort of information from it and usage looks to be exactly one instance of both once each with constant order too.
For an api, it might be popular enough to just make one call ensureValveClosed()
It closes valve if it isn't already. Literally only thing I'd ever use personally while I'm away from home via remote smart home thing which is remote but also smart. Idk and it still leaves the whole smart thing. Wtf is that even?
Remote, sure. Smart? The whole thing looks to be congruently used with IoT which I guess is cool. But why does personal appliance or something of that importance have to be a thing on internet? Why does it have to be anywhere?
In my humble opinion, whichever interface you use remotely, should be forwarded out from your network on some secret port which only you know. The forward should be set up to require literally the maximum possible factors which guarantee it's your connection inbound. So if you have static ip you know will be only one used to control main valve and heater, make that the rule.
Why do appliances have to be scanned on network or ping some central service to be discovered? Ultimately because whoever it is scanning or the service hasn't located or identified them yet. Is that ever the owner? Doesn't have to be since they set it up. Who does it leave? Strangers on entire internet sometimes.
Congratulations. Your home is smart.
Today water bottles' life cycle starts from bottling water with nanoscopic plastic particles in its water unless filtered out. The lifecycle ends with them being inside another bottle as that same nanoscopic plastic. Inception level irony.
Yes, let’s put open stairs above the food prep area.
CHALLENGE: Make a better PC part list. Price must stay the same at 1.5k https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2KN8hk
We can still (and should asap) filter out this stuff and undo what is purely our own damage to planet. 100% of plastics in water are human caused. Like global warming is a tossup and there are arguments as to whether or not it's important. But nanoplastics is like 100% guaranteed we did all of it. Literally never happened once on Earth since dawn of life or just the planet itself tbh.
wtf is this shit
Not important? Tossup? Uh do you even math?
Nobody knows but one thing's for certain: not a single species ever had even a physical chance to adapt and evolve around nm sized plastic bits in literally all water
That guy is completely disconnected from reality. Just look at his ramblings for the last 2 hours.
So yeah real environmental crisis. Water bottles might be a significant portion of that plastic which is kinda ironic too lol
PC part picker list
Honestly I never thought about if we do filter out from water... we still have no use for it right? Lmao maybe even some of the least use from plastic once it sanded down to particles that tiny
Folks, don’t substance & discord.
I'm high rn, this is hilarious
Don't water bottle and anything
That's the point. Somebody asked about water bottles? Literally killer on planet and ourselves. I read that fish ironically and a lot of ocean life as always has shown that it's much more tolerant than ourselves
The stairs are open and over the food prep area. What kind of property dudebro bs is this?!
Why the fuck would I ask the LTT Discord about water bottles if I wasn't talking about the ones on the website though
As always, we might have screwed ourselves the most. Fish somehow laugh at mercury and the nanoplastic. We on the other hand die from it. Nanoplastics again barely any long term studies done. In fact, no long term studies possible

Ltt water bottles are steel
This guy does this everyday. He is incapable of understanding people dislike him. You can't even insult him since he doesn't comprehend you are talking about him. He thinks he is smart and his ramblings are a quirk.
Never used reddit
Why? It's all right for me. Well as good as it's always been.
Well any company that even resells products. For instance, some blank T and they put logo on it. You might get crap these days for like cotton being 'unethical'. So basically they don't kill animal to somebody's standards or they use the wrong animal idk
Recycled fibers is a thing
Whole garment knitting is also a thing.
Spez is.. As Louis Rossmann puts it.. Evil
Right well that's better I guess. Ultimately, fibres idk but so long as it's natural cotton, it's best. People even pay more for it. What are recycled fibres?
…
Don't get baited into his ramblings. Even if you make a point he is incapable of addressing it and instead will go on and on.
But also, do you need to recycle fibres is a good question? Like is it that important when there is plastic in all water by now? Again, it's kind of stupid when you consider that we bottle water for some reason and then it contributes to polluting it.
IDK. I've never cared about the moral standings of CEOs. I assume all are money orientated people. To me Reddit it's just a place to read links and have arguments, read arguments with people and thats all there is to it
Well let's just say the fact you are unable to remove all of your posts off reddit, them just restoring it or on locked sub's you cant access your own posts... Its not really great. That said I'm using discord.
Right well that's the thing. Today CEOs are getting pressured into doing certain things, meeting certain goals to boost some score. A lot of it is under the guise of equalities but some of it is environment-friendly or 'green'. Irl though that's the thing. It affects companies in that you're pressured for some reason as a private business to make sacrifices which irl are meaningless.

Idfc if cotton came from alpaca or sheep. Unless maybe one of them is getting past threatened and we may lose that one to extinction
Recycled fibre or anything? I don't really care to be honest when I consider how much non-recycled other crap there is to the point where we now have it literally in all water lol
It's not overclockable
you cant overlock on b760

But everybody buys it and doesn't even think of the irony. The key here is reusable. There's only one reusable bottle and that's the kind you can do so with indefinite amount of times. So like LTT waterbottle lmfao
I install windows 11 in a pc of 2007 💀
you paird a overlocking 12700k with a locked b760 board that can only overlock ram not the cpu
I read somewhere it was an issue on the backend more like actual malice. But I don't know I've been able to delete my posts. I hate that I'm not longer going to be able to use mass delete functionality but meh.
Why does it have to be plastic disposable water container? Like idk a lot of it is unnecessary and nobody thinks
Are u able to overclock Cpu on B660M DS3H
no only the Z690 and Z790
On disc you can't truly. It's not relational base. Used cassandra before but now I believe it's different. Probably still transactional or whatever is the name for storage where you tombstone records
On disc, should be nothing ever gets deleted. It can only get marked as deleted.
Can you do last out in transactional db?
13500 matches the 12700k and the 6950xt dominates the 6800xt
Because your guaranteed consistency can be constant configured max records. You never read past a certain point back. Pruned.
and ddr4 hampers performance
I'm like.. Tempted to get an iPhone but I hate lightning and I already like Android a lot again.
Lightning should work through usb adapter or something. At least if you have actual usb 4 if that's a thing ever yet
I hate you so much. Because you write wrong things all the time that make it very hard for people not to correct you.
Just literally ignore them.
I was gonna correct myself because I'm 100% wrong. There was an ltt vid on this
this button exists for a reason
Ok I'll stop don't block :)
I went from a Note 9 to a Pixel 7 Pro. I regret it because I use the phone a lot on bed and Pixel 7 Pro is just too big for me.
Just refer to LTT vid about thunderbolt or lightning whatever working through usb ports in new intel chipset notebooks. Something like that. Definitely remember watching about it.
IDK why the Pixel 7 Pro just feels too big heavy in my hand. Even though it's not much bigger and it's not much heavier
Or maybe I had the Note9 for a long time and got used to it.
I got a Pixel 4. Still too big for me but.. tolerable. I miss my 2016 SE
anybody know how i can safely buy from somebody online i know this is gonna be mad but i wanna buy a clash of clans.. clan theirs a few people with good clans and nobody in them and one of them is down to sell their clan but obviously we cant trust eachother so without signing up for anything doing lots of verfication how can i ensure i get my clan and he gets his money
welp theres another
That's probably because it actually is too big for most people's palm to be comfortable lol. But a very important thing you're not mentioning is how it's too thin as well.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/222XXy $31 under and better gaming performance

If I were to get an iphone it would need USB C and to be a mini. I miiiight bend on the 13 though because ios 17 looks pretty awesome..
It's literally a combination of all those things I feel. Just big enough to be really unergonomic for how thin it is. Then the edges are rounded just wrong sometimes
sideloading and usbc is one of the main reasons i still use android
USB C and even regular one. That doesn't matter. The key is thunderbolt. It's definitely not quite the same as USB 1, 2 and 3 I think. I don't remember but 4 might be where you start to have some compat. I could be wrong though. Look up where thunderbolt is supported
just a quick question, is it bad if ur gpu only has 2 cm of extra spacing to the front fans, cause i want to put a 6800 xt in a montech air 100 argb
Ultimately I remember something sad like it varies for each device. So you have to look up each time if that notebook or something will work with thunderbolt thru usb. Then additionally like one usb port works the other doesn't.
USB4 I think you're guaranteed to have at least the same power as thunderbolt maybe lol
I hold on the iPhone having USB-C for a lot time. But if you've waited this long might as well wait for the upcoming one. Unless you get a good deal OFC
'Having usb-c' is basically just having a port of that shape and these pins
Depends on the airflow from the rest of the case I suppose.
Again, if they release a mini. I wont have another
That I wont bend on
USB-c connector supports usb 3.0. Microusb doesn't. Hence that mutant micro-usb with extra connection to the side. That's how you get usb 3.0 to work over micro usb
It's non reversible still but that's because microusb is already not reversible. It's backwards compatible with both microusb and <=2.0 though. You can still plug in just the original half of the port lmfao
Imagine nobody used C and the main thing was that fat microusb 3.0. That would be something
Fair enough. I've gotten used to huge phones that the standard looks small to me.

Using my phone with one hand is a must. and Im not putting on a fucking popsocket to do it
Wtf that had so many layers to it. The mini usb bends? Or the iphone itself bends. You will be hella bent too once they both go
You're literally not supposed to. It's designed to be held in one hand and touch screen with other.
Some phones like my have one handed mode. Does it help making one handed use practical? Lol
You think a r7 5700x is too weak for my 4070??
I dont think so
so sexy
Mini?
I mean actually the phone part is still designed to be only used with one hand as always. It's the touch screen that's designed for you to hold in same hand but now require the other
If you pay attention, it's kind of neat because the phone's screen actually shuts off when you put it to ear.
Has LMG ever been broken into?
Nah. IMO people tend to overestimate how powerful their CPUs need to be for gaming. CPUs only need to be powerful if you aim for FPS over 120 at 4k.
Digitally, yes
Im a power hog when it comes to my pc, and I barely top out my 5800X
Usually if Im doing something stupid or a benchmark
On the other hand, we still haven't even reached the CPU power needed for simulating certain things properly.
And when I say something stupid I mean overloading game engines by spawning loads of entities
Or making insane numbers happen, needing super fast math
You're going in the right direction. Now consider that apart from Sea of Theives simulating literally all of that ocean at once where nobody is (so why tbh)... there's not enough bandwidth to retrieve all realtime either
It's very rarely an old fast CPU will bottleneck and then it will still give you 60fps at 4k. The 5700x is from 2022. It's more than all right.
I have my 4070ti and a 9700k and don't feel I need to upgrade. My GPU always runs at 100%
Friend of mine finally upgraded his 7700K or 7500K or something. Similar CPU as mine and hes SUPER happy
But again, on the other hand, practical questions still kind of save us. Like why simulate discrete fluid dynamics as accurately or at all even in entire ocean in SoT where literally nobody is looking or gets affected in any way by the water there?
Irl even, do we have a way to notice at all displacement of entire ocean even if we wanted to?
However... just outside between two ships in battle. That brief chunk of waters where waves are synchronized over network... that would actually be nice to have also fluid dynamics like on deck. At least the waves added on top of lowest sea level between them.
I guess. What I love about YouTube is that people upload side by side videos of performance of old popular CPUs with new ones.
Because that would improve the dynamics on board when you're sinking or leaking. Noticeably. Currently it jets in new particles from wherever hole is in hull. You can max start and stop the jet of dynamic water particles if that leak is under wave or not. Just height of water mesh at that position
Then I guess depending on difference of heights how far underneath the water surface leak is, you know always the pressure proportional to square I think of depth
You can make it look real if you draw the hole in hull appropriate size. The dynamic water + ocean does not have constant volume like irl. Is it noticeable even if you create at just hull? Nope. Would it be nice to have just around the ships? Yup. Can cpu and network do it today? Nope
Should be fine
Network can do it maybe if the server does dynamic fluid simulation and generates a representational hull to send clients. Now it's just a mesh. It only added more processing for server though
On top of discretely simulating even waves on top of ocean with discrete fluid dynamics around vicinity of ship. I think already cpu shat itself. So we don't have cpu still for proper gaming some of it...
Idk maybe opencl or using something in gpu like cuda, etc could help. But I'm not to sure either.
if your playing at 360p it will
As opposed to 360i because if you can output that directly from a 4070, you're a legend.
after further thoughts i think i rather save money than get the AIO just for looks
what good budget air cooler for 5600
i'm looking at the thermalright PA but maybe there's one cheaper
4070 and 5700x both too weak if you put dvi output on it to work with the crappiest pin config when you used to adapt to vga
alright
Too weak for vga. If you did put dvi, it would only work digital dvi-i or dvi-d.
My 1060 can still do it. Also has dvi output. Tbh fck I sold it to friend :(
Skip and wait and see if next years iPhone is USBC perhaps?
Late last year the EU passed legislation enforcing a common charging port on a bunch of electronic devices — including phones, tablets and cameras.
Sponsor: Get 10% off Squarespace purchases (https://geni.us/BqEpf)
This Jonsbo CR1200 CPU air cooler has consistently been between $2.77 and $7 on AliExpress, and has more recently made its way to the US market -- although commonly for $15. We're benchmarking its performance versus the included/stock AMD Wraith coolers, including the Wraith Pris...
Oh lol now I believe it
alrightt that is real cheap
It would take an actual whole EU mandate for Apple to put actual regular port on iphone before hell froze over
I'm aware of that, doesn't mean all the models outside the EU will get it.
Yeah good point :V
have to watch it with captions only as my wireless earbuds out of juice
With a 65watt CPU you can even get an air cooler that isn't ugly.
and doesn't mean they wouldn't make a version without USBC and only ship a model for the EU with USBC that year. So until they show it off we can't tell what direction they'll truely go;
I can see Apple making whole new special market division scheme top to bottom just to keep thunderbolt in as many places as possible
Even if it costs them money maybe. It's Apple. Think different unless you're in communist Europe.
Which btw I kinda seriously disagree with that EU mandate...
It is a good mandate. It means we'll get an end to the crappy little devices with micro-usb and barrel jacks as well as the phones etc having to have it.
Like I mean score for Apple being made to put USB-C on iPhone. That's just a funny side-joke. But EU mandating private tech companies which technologies they can and can't use? Eeesh. Even if it's yeah clearly USB-C is more consumer friendly in the end and Apple clearly is a being a jerkweed....
All those crappy products that are dirt cheap on amazon, etc will have to update to usbc, thats not really a bad thing IMO. less useless crap potentially and less cheap crap people buy with crappy connectors.
But how will the next connector will look if there are mandates for USB-C. The issue is not black and white IMO
watching this actually makes me wanna just get the Ak400 as i have plans for 5800x3D in the future lel
The EU is also mandating that batteries have to be servicable, which is another good idea.
but on a second thought
i would not be upgrading the cpu again in quite a while that the jonsbo cooler might actually be worthwhile
And on top of that, it's EU which is somebody mandating for multiple individual countries what to do. A body telling countries what they have to enforce for private tech industry. Gross
i mean yea it's like 6 bucks on my place
If another connector that could supercede USBC (which probably won't be for a while I expect) then they can update the legisislation much faster than creating a new one. The mandate can be amended as needed.
not a waste even if i need to dump it in the future
There are layers to it. Why is EU even there first of all
And why is federal gov telling Apple to put USB-C
Because the EU is the trading block, and it and its members decide on what the trading block rules are.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hYxRsY/thermalright-peerless-assassin-120-se-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-pa120-se-d3 or https://pcpartpicker.com/product/sRPQzy/thermalright-silver-soul-135-82-cfm-cpu-cooler-silver-soul-135-black-d2 too @neon mesa
Well now they might actually pass another mandate or change something in actual laws whenever that is. Because there is a mandate to use USB-C or 'whatever is standard for phones, laptops, etc'
Can they? Is updating legislation faster? That isn't obvious to me. I expect it to be quite the opposite as people would cry being forced to update to something that "already works"
the member states have members of the european parliament that vote on what becomes EU law.
Also lmao consider what would even happen if everybody switched to thunderbolt instead along with Apple
Black
No one other than Apple is going to switch to thunderbolt outside of premium brands perhaps as theres licence costs involved to include it outside of USB4
why is the machine + renewal cleaner cheaper than just the machine?
From my understanding yes.
Right. So yet again, shooting self in the foot lol. You guaranteed that it's not standard across devices. EU will never accept it even if they wanted to. It's simply not possible to have on every device...
blame Intel for not making thunderbolt licence free
But idk. Idk as far as this goes but unless Apple has already a snipable position with their setup in terms of manufacture to distribution which allows them to easily make EU-only models with usb-c
Anyway, it doesn't really matter if we agree with it or not, the EU has mandated it, so Apple and others have to comply in the EU or not sell their products, simple really.
id the vision pro usb c or lightning
It would be a charging/pcb change
Which honestly I have a hard time imagining. Phones already have this kind of nuance where a lot of it can be like the local market's authority on radio communication.
I don't think they've said. But everything else apart from iPhone pretty much is already USBC. I think theres the 1st gen pencil that is lightning still, otherwise it is already USBC.
Same w laptops tbh. At least back when I remember hence the 3 or 4 different versions depending on where you are with completely different bt/wifi device. There was always 4 of only one driver. It was the wireless one
apple will introduce apple wireless charging and ditch all ports
But does EU have any say over the radio communications for their members?
No, they won't because it is dumb.
no we are speaking of apple
Each country determines that individually. The EU doesn't control every aspect of every member country.
If not, Apple would probably have to create a new division of market from manufacturing at some level through to retail additionally whatever they do in order to deal with radio
It would still be dumb and wireless is incredibly inefficient, so the EU would probably challenge Apple on that and force them to use USBC
id rather have ports but completely wireless unreparable phones is apples style
Which slowly the EU is fighting Apple on, they're on the losing side ultimately, it will just take time.
Right. So that's my point. It's highly impractical at the least. You have them regulating actual hardware for one thing and countries individually regulate another. So literally you force companies to comply with requirements now by this EU on its own scale. Then you force them to still comply to requirements per the federation usually
apple hasnt found the right politican to bribe is all
It is really an extension of the electronic waste mandates they've been making for over a decade now.
Yes radio is regulated no more individually than federal scale. It's probably because that's where it's practical tbh lol. Like say what you will about it, if you're already going to do that, federal makes sense
Much harder to bribe EU polititians to some extent.
so in the eu i cant just offer a few million and get my way?
Mostly the EU doesn't control the spectrum of radio waves due to historical reasons. Every country has had its own frequencies for various things over the years so controlling that at EU level would have been hyper complex
Nowhere near as easily I expect. You have 27 countries to get anything agreed with, so you have to bribe 27 governments in effect.
Also a lot of things are actually related to the federation itself. So for instance, you could have even some amendment referencing completely other federal laws where something like the FCC as they have it in States or CRTC will only clear use if it's within legal bounds
it was fuckin wild
Not saying it isn't possible, but the nature of there being 27 countries makes it more complicated than just bribing one polititian or one country
seeing this giant ass ship in vr is really something
Those laws are actually important like sending or recieving encrypted digital signals to and from outside the federal border
do people live in the EU?
not sure
With the EU you have local and eU laws, but some countries are not signed up to every mandate due to veto agreements, but newer coutnries don't get veto powers, so have to accept things like shengen and the euro for instance.
Well that's what my beef is about. People still 'live in their federation' because I guess it still has a lot of important things as common interests. At the very least you could say the last possible place you could have defending "its own people" is the federation
Like national security ideally is truly security of even individual citizenss
A lot of EU laws actually started off as an individual country wanting to implement them and the rest joining in and it then getting ratified across the eU. Some of those laws still apply outside the EU, for instance in the UK as they've not been repealed yet.
People in the EU are both EU citizens and citizens of their nationality.
im 98% sure everyone that "lives" in Europe are just tourist from real places like the usa
But EU? Apart from people living in EU, what are the countries doing in it? It's a union ok. What does it do? Idk so just now it mandated its members to mandate themselves probably restrictions on iphone port. Why? That's the kind of union it is. One of the things it did
what is all this eviroment stuff you speak of and why in heck should i care
On top of that, people can sometimes disagree with EU. We've seen recently contraversial border policy mandates and people disobeying. Ok I mean I personally stand with individual federations. Like it's their border. It borders their people, etc, etc
But a lot of times it looks like at least one of its members are really cheesed off lol
The EU is far from perfect. But it originally was set up to prevent another Europe wide war from erupting.
There's an economic element to it. So you have to economically transition to the euro.
but all the best wars come from europe
but how does this affect my daily life?
As a block the EU has a far better trading position than the individual countries would with places like the USA
did the us raise the debt cealing
Poland I know was supposed to join but they never fully transitioned economically. In fact, they seemed to have stopped and slowly began to back out lol.
Me arriving in Poland ~2017: Airport shops accept USD, Euro and Zloty. They gave change in either Zloty or Euro I think
Me arriving in Poland ~2021: Everybody accepts only Zloty lol
That's their own pre-eu currency.
Hella transition lmfao.
then we have weird useless countries like the UK
Yeah...
who gices a hoot about apple search filters
Oh yeah then UK. They're not on the Euro. Then they Brexited lol
i cant adjust search filters or download a app
CAN STUPID DISCORD
I DID NOT TYPE CANT
Theres targets countries have to meet to join the EU fully. If they don't meet it they don't get accepted. To get accepted it needs to be approved by all member states. So if you have a beef with a member state they're likely to veto your membership request.
its essentially a union, comprising of Britain, northern Ireland, Scotland and wales
Oh yeah and speaking of Brexit lmao. EU was seriously pressuring them by taking all free trade off table. "Brexit is for idiots who will lead economy into the ground... ||we'll make sure of it||"
pretty sure ireland and scotland want out of the "unioni"
The UK never had to join the Euro or the Shengen agreement as they had a veto power. Then of course the whole brexit thing happened. If the UK changed its mind, we'd have to accept the Euro and Shengen to join again probably.
Yeah but brexit it looked more like Britain was trying to get out and EU was not willing to un-accept them lol
Free trade is linked to freedom of movement. That last one the UK wasn't budging on so they couldn't have the first one. Simple really.
No, more like the UK was trying to have its cake and eat it and the EU was having none of it. The UK repeatedly dragged its heels and changed its mind. They kept wanting to cherry pick things as part of a trade agreement, which the EU wouldn't do as as I said, to have free trade you have to have freedom of movement, they're linked legally within the EU.
the UK could of tried for the agreement that Switzerland or Norway has, but they refused.
honestly not much has changed since brexit if we being honest
in the end the agreement of withdrawal wasn't what either party wanted and the UK has been trying to back out of it or change it ever since.
Nah I feel like we're ignoring another obvious part of it. Is economic policy honestly what caused a lot of scandal recently in EU? Lately a lot of time it seemed to be stuff that is exactly anything else outside of economic policy lmfao
the uk pound has changed and the price for food and the financial hit farmers took
The changes are mostly paperwork at the border if you're importing/exporting goods. There was some level of easing of that by certain aspects not taking effect right away.
I mean there's still the positive correlation that all those unrelated policies have an insanely suicidal economic impact on them lol. But that's happenstance it seems. Which leads me back to another important point I have: whose interests are represented by those positions in EU?
Brexit is in effect the rich hoodwinking the british public by stoking xenophobia to be able to avoid the taxation rules that were due to come into force if the UK hadn't left.
Why are there chancellors lmfao? Chancellors of what? There should only be certain possible roles in EU itself max:
- Mr Speaker of house
- Various administrative and legal positions to just enforce validity and legality
- Janitor and other maintainance staff of physical house wherever EU talk may be

do you ever make messages that make sense?
EU should literally only be the nations themselves representing. So I guess it's important to look into this. We should right now: where did any motions leading to USB-C mandate originate from? Did at least any democratic process take place where all member nations voted on it?
Germany's leader has been called a chancellor for decades for example. The head of the EU is the president, which rotates through the member states every 6 months.
Seems not lol
yes the eu is democratic
You clearly have no idea of how the EU actually works, or you wouldn't ask such dumb questions.
each country elects its representatives
its not cheaper or Uk folks to buy meat from the EU vs the UK
i swear nigelfarage was the uk representative in the eu once or am i tripping
The mandates are prepared by the council and the legislators vote on it, those legislators are voted by the member states to represent them.
Democratic and entirely made up of just the representatives of its members.
But, again, it's crucial that no other interests or influencing factors exist beyond the nations themselves.
yes because its a union on those nations
Yes, he and his party UKIP were Eu representives. They typically didn't bother turning up to EU parliamentary meetings, yet still collected payment and pensions.
So apart from voting on USB-C mandate, it had to come from at least one of the members. It can't be motioned by some one dude as himself.
they are looking for their own interests
so just like most mps in the uk
It can be proposed by the council (or is it the committee I forget which?), who are not elected, but the elected members vote on it and approve it.
Thats more the house of lords, the house of parliament actually has most people turn up to vote most of the time
damn. Subnautica needs the titanic to make it seem like you're really trapped underwater.
eh depends
they can just no show and nobody cares
then carbon fiber subs
but lords are the worst for it
It depends on the vote.
yeah the parties care but only if it benefits them for the mp to be there
you from the uk @broken folio ?
theres probs a mod lol
Aha. Well that can be a problem too often times. Like you vote in president, president nominates supreme court justice or kicks out. Already iffy but then it's still voted by house of representatives I think. Ok.
But what about those 239584792 people nobody voted in? Like director or whatever of ATF and FBI? Fun fact: ATF guy today remains to be the same guy who you see in Waco documentaries and reenactments. He's the guy who basically everyone agrees made awful mistakes which caused the whole thing perhaps...
Yes.
British
whats got you up at 3:30
The president isn't voted on, it is passed from country to country after a given time, usually 6 months.
Just insomnia as usual
waiting for your sister to call back
it would litterally be impossible to get a democratically elected eu president as everyone would just vote for their own country
she died
thats why sh e hasnt answered my 666 missed calls
give her 667
The official experts on covid were just one guy basically who don't say it but allegedly was same one who researched that virus in the same lab with China altogether. Then they doubled down on it didn't come from there to the point where you got banned + you're anti-science right wing domestic terrorist lol.
As it went on, you found other things that made you shiver. Experiments on dogs and he sowed their eyes open or something. Under his watch, they basically tortured dogs for comfort because they cried too loud or something D:
dimmskii you dont make any sense man can you like change up your writing style or somin
Oooofffft managed to boost the weak ass WiFi signal out of this camera so it now works across my house (and hopefully in concert halls where I plan on using it)
Wdym? It's like I wrote it. Unelected positions exist and often times are problematic. Again, an example is in States where certain officials deemed experts and 'correct information' are put into their position without any democratic process whatsoever.
does it create its own network?
Yeah a low-power network from the camera (it is good for like 10m LOS) then that yellow box acts as a WiFi repeater with much more powerful output to the iPhone
yeah because you dont elect experts
you pick the person with the most expertise
is the network password protected?
Yep cam to repeater and repeater network are password protected
cool dont want random connections to the network midshow
... you elect everyone in charge of any aspect of your life. They also need to be an actual expert minimally on exactly that very same thing they influence.
2014 called they want there iphone 6 back
Dr Fauci? I mean I won't get political. Just scientific. Science knows no color red or blue. It's the truth.
How many patients did he ever see in practice? Lol. What's his track record?
I use these as monitors for camera gear because they’re small and good battery life (I have 3x of them for this purpose)
They’re cheap too online, nice way of giving new life to old iPhones
iphones will always suck
didn’t ask
fauci went to cornell for medical school and was a rear admiral in the us public health service aswell as being one of the world's most frequently cited scientists across all scientific journals through the 80s to early 2000s
Well I can tell you something a lot of people don't know. Fauci was already there a while since even 90s apparently. He oversaw an AIDS epidemic. It was a critical point in time when they'd just discovered the actual HIV virus but little to nothing was known about it. This is true. Scientifically speaking, if you'd just observed a virus that causes the AIDS (syndrome) to which you had no idea what a single cause is:
- You still only observed a virus can cause it
- You don't know if anything else (not even a virus perhaps) can somehow cause AIDS
- You therefore don't know if even any clear trends you'd seen in transmission were one and the same virus
the 80s thats 40 years ago
fauci is one of the USA's best immunologists
But Fauci... his prediction was POGchamp level. He initially stated that HIV is airborne and can be transmitted by cereal box and such. Basically like influenza.
but only lucky charms right since they have rainbows?
because surprisingly it take time to work shit out
I mean idk back then I actually agree with rights for them. Rainbow is last thing on their mind probably back then
You might still have police just walking around looking for secret meetings and pummeling them with baton just for the heck of it. It was already legal though so cops were criminal gang basically when it came down to it
Happened even in liberal ol Toronto just a few decades ago
Go back a bit more and it was actually illegal lol. Like go to jail for it
I don't think they gave death penalty but you went to prison for it
But after all that was ending, then you had like killer disease which everyone knows about going around affecting them. Ffs god give us a break. Nope. Then they discover the virus finally... but that same guy is in charge of handling it lmfao
he didnt say aids is air born he said it could be airborne in 1983 if my research is accurate
It couldn't be though. There was never an airborne HIV virus observed. There couldn't have been. If it's in the air, it's dead right?
Like immediately. And there couldn't have been any mechanism observed through something other than directly into behind blood barrier... because it doesn't exist either
it was all could because when you get a new virus you dont know much about you presume everything is a factor till you work out what the actual factor is to prevent more people getting it.
in hospitals when covid first started popping up we didnt know how it was spread so we put people in those clear plastic bubble rooms so we avoid spreading because surprisingly you want to prevent people getting viruses
that why i have mcafee
norton BABY
Female has way higher chance of getting it when you have conventional partners
Back then at least it was considered conventional as in anything else was still shunned legal or not
Anyways whatever I'm getting removed too frequently. I'll skip the whole thing with the inequality (which was still pretty bad in 90s for real) and move on to the fact that Fauci had the discovered virus under his watch. But the disease AIDS was long before known and everybody clearly saw the obvious things about it
Nobody thought it was like influenza or something. It was more like could be not airborne or it took a lot of close contact for transmission
Fauci said though it may be airborne. So at best it's literally no new information.
An expert saying that it might do something people already considered possible... still. I mean does that look like somebody who should be an expert? If he had nothing new to say, he should have been busy somehow finding out whether or not it is airborne
But again airborne and yet you had to spend a lot of time with people to catch it. Didn't experts already realize how contradictory that is?
And on top of all that, everybody already realized the disproportionate rate in certain communities. Those communities were characterized by close proximity sure... but the real definitive thing was specifically the opposite of airborne lol
Like look it up. They called it something really derogatory back then. Despite that, interestingly enough they actually nailed the syndrome itself.
Virus discovery came later idk. Weird stuff. But Fauci said it might be airborne. It caused some panic too.
Ok but already it was considered to possibly be airborne first. To be honest, that's default. You don't know how it spreads. Could be anything. So why go out and repeat that it could be airborne? That just raises more panic. And what research did he do 'if it was correct'?
my brother in christ that message is 18minutes old work on your speed
Idk I'm done. I wrote a wall again fk
i wont be reading the wall
And he wrote several essays that absolutely nobody read before that
Tl;dr EU sucks for everyone. Even in a perfect world, EU nations wouldn't even get away with equal representation
It doesn't though. That's my point. It works against it. It should work for them you're right. That's why theyre in it? Well, again, Brexit. It looked like the opposite. Somebody wanted to leave and they wouldn't let them lol
This guys been talking to himself for at least 4 hours probably more. He takes small interactions like this as prompts to write this huge walls of incoherent babbling. I recommend not encouraging him
And EU should tbh work for the member states representing contributions proportionally. That's actually the sham with a lot of coalitions and unions too
Yeah I kinda went off again. Coherent or not, ignore everything prior. Tl;dr EU is bad for a lot of its member 'states'. You're right about what it should ideally be doing. Sadly, that seems far from the truth.
I would get the best ergonomic chair you can. Unless you really like the Gaming chair aesthetic
im talking about desks
And even in an ideal scenario, consider every member getting proportional representation for anything: the smallest members would be now influenced and outvoted by others. It's fair I guess...
But why is the smallest member in the EU in the first place?
Economic safety net? So the worst economies get carried. Now you're somehow agreeing on interests I guess. Heh
And why 'states'? They are nations.
I see. The prettiest one? I don't know why would you buy any of them in the first place. You want it to be Standing?
Lol so long as it's the desk standing and I'm the one sitting
i have a physical condition so the sit stand feature is really crucial
Honestly both sitting and standing in exactly one place with hands forward is probably bad for you
Sitting on chair like our bodies aren't even designed to do that
ill go secretlab
he has nothing better to dk
yo uhhh
what is this? I received an SMS with what seems to be a google verification code. I didn't request it. (I have 6 emails with google)
Maybe your pass got leaked because you reused it
