oooooh, yeah it's not a midi controller per se, it's using streamdeck to do midi, and then perform actions. Very cool. Yeah I have a similar integration.

The main difference is that my setup gives you (or can give you) most of those functions, but costs a small fraction of what that does, because I don't need this, so I'm more trying to achieve high end functions with mid-low end costs.

Be careful lol I BIOS modded my Strix 970 and removed it's power limit. It was drawing 100w more than it's limit for 5-6 years and some VRM must've melted since VRMs were constantly at 120c+ temps for years at a time (GPU monitors / fan profiles focused on GPU core temp only at the time)

After a few years I hooked it back in for a server build and display blacked out twice. Changed to HDMI instead of DP and PC just shut off. Tried to turn it on for the 3rd time and my PSU just blew up

I wish I had this on camera, this cap explosion was louder and stronger than anything I've ever seen on any PSU fail clips... Smoke went over 12ft high all the way to the ceiling in an instant

Yes... Strix 2080Ti has a 320w power limit and I saw it constantly adjusting GPU core clock to stay within power limit. Games were stuttery and annoying, and it kept cycling P-States depending on what I do. Did reduce power draw on idle but I feel the slight stutter whenever I started to do something GPU intensive

I'm a power user (on software side) so I just want it to stay at it's best all the time...

@glossy crest Here's how I did this... First get HWinfo and keep an eye on both core temp and VRM temp. Start running some benchmark (unigine heaven Extreme preset is good for 970) and see how far the temps increase over time... If VRM temp goes over 90c, note what GPU core temp was at that time. For this example, lets say it was at 70c...

Then you want your fans to hit 100% when GPU core is at 70c so that VRMs stay below 90c. Tune this to make sure, whatever you do, GPU VRM temps stay below 100c. Used card + seller said they "fixed" the bios, best to keep it safe

You can also just set GPU fans to 100% before you start playing games, then set it back to normal... an easier way but you have to do this and its easy to forget

You will probably need to remove one and do the upgrade one drive at a time. And use a boot usb stick to do it, you won't be able to do it of course within windows

Doing one at a time will also make sure you don't clone the wrong drive to one with data etc.

If the 2nd drive only has data and not installed items on it, then you can if you have room copy the data onto an external drive, pop the new drive in and copy back again.

Personally I'd advise you to avoid cloning altogether, like bionic mentioned it can work but often causes issues, especially with boot OS's. I'd do this:

1. Install windows fresh via USB with only one single SSD plugged in (theres a longstanding bug with win install if another drive is present)
2. Add your old OS drive in slot 2 and copy over essential files
3. Swap old OS drive with other old drive and copy everthing over
4. Swap other old drive with new 2TB drive
   This may be a bit more time-consuming than other processes, but given it's all nvme, it shouldn't be too bad. The extra time is worth the risk reduction.

Yes, I use TeraCopy for transferring files. If you use scroll lock it disables it, forcing windows explorer to be used instead.

i normally just never use full size keyboards. i have an 80% keyboard, and then an external numpad for use with random stuff like blender and inputting symbols with the alt+[numbers] thing.

I have used a full sized keyboard since the 80s, so I kinda have muscle memory for it i guess. changing to a 80% or less keyboard throws my touch typing off a lot.
