i bought the cheapest usb3 2.5" sata enclosure i could find, and the cheapest 1tb SATA 2.5" ssd i could find, loaded it up with tv shows and movies, and top it up from time to time, and thats what goes with me and the family when we go on holiday, to keep the kids intertained in the evenings 😁

reading a movie from the drive is a sequential read, so, even a cheapo ssd is gonna hit 300-400mb/s on that, 4k takes nowhere near that...

also, the 4k masters that get shipped to cinemas that plug into the digital projectors... are essentially a 2.5" ssd in a protective case

big sur has been made to work and also ventura, just the hp elitebook I have has problems even with big sur mainly cause of the intel wifi/bt card and other things but it does work with mojave 10.14.6 so I am gonna use that as a start
