It sounds like you have narrowed it down yourself to the MSI or LG monitors, so read as many reviews on both and make a choice i guess is your best option. I guess you could ask for peoples thoughts on those two specific monitors if they own them.

theres actually very few makers of the panels, so often it is not the panel, but the OSD/software that is the biggest difference maker

that is so odd to me though. sure OSD can be a hazzle sometimes, but realistically you need it for about a few hours ever to set up the display, afterwards it's whatever. i never bothered with it, because when i had CRTs and had to find the degaussing option, i never thought "ah man, accessibility, you fucked it up, compaq"

same, i tried. i went to a guy that wanted to sell a samsung g7 second hand. i tried it out at his place. but the way the edges are displaced on the Z axis from your PoV to the middle of the screen and how it just does not fit if viewing distance is huge (mine is about 28"). it's a weird concept and probably just better left with 60" TVs

but the smaller the display is, the less curving gets relevant. our eyes are not THAT shit.

depends on the content. DTP/web stuff was always only on the 24" monitors. The 19" 4:3 monitor was really just there because I had it and it was good for old games/emulation. occasopnally i'd throw youtube videos to the 49" tv if I had a friend visiting, which it worked well for.

My 48" screen is exactly the same dot pitch as a 24 1080p. Sadly, the 27s which are the same width as the 48 height are not the same pixel density, but it's not a huge deal

I find that I don't notice the dot pitch differences, mostly because I focus on a single panel at a time rather than both. The second screen is really to be able to have a document open whilst editing a publication.

i tried to read that up actually many many times. they always said it's better to up or downscale from 4k to 1080p because of multiplying by 4 or dividing pixels by 4. 1440p will always look not sharp on 4k monitor and vice versa

Quite probably, but 10xx and 16xx are really not worth the cost to performance uplift. 20xx would probably be the minimum I expect.

i upgraded from a 2070 non-super to a 4070Ti just recently, i got a pretty penny for the 2070 (200 euros) still, but i still consider that cheap and the 2070 is an insane performer, it killed a ton of games during the 2 years i had that card. you dont need a 2080 really

efficiency wise the xx70s are always a good choice anyway.

intel just needs to polish the drivers to make it all work. i personally think their HW is already capable. intel just needs to let their engis work and let them do their magic. then the a770 will piss off nvidia midrange to NO extent

we buy nvidia for most because their backend compatibility is not only awesome but needed

I don't think they're going to get much more improvement at this point on the A series cards, they're probably by now more focused on the battlemage cards and the celestial cards that are to follow them.

i have tended to favour nvidia for some features, the cards tend to work better with emulators it seems in some cases. But otherwise no real affinity, but a long time since i bought an AMD card and the last time it was probably still ATi

Not always, theres been a trend towards soldered ram and the cpus have been soldered for a good while now on laptops. DDR5 pushed the SODIMM standard to its limits, so soldered is often seen as a better solution by some vendors.
