The biggest holdup for a lot of people I've tried to get to use Signal is that you cannot backup/transfer/move messages from one device to another. They call it a "security feature."

So if you message people on Signal for a few months, then install it on your PC, you have no conversation history. Get a new phone, all your message history is gone, etc.

That's one area where Whatsapp is leagues ahead. But again, Facebook.....
