nope. this is a Mobile CPU. its one of the old socketed ones. my i5 2450M is the same as it has a similar socket and can be upgraded, but the roblem with my system is the GT 540M which is just a huge bottleneck with 1GB of DDR3 VRAM.

CPU temps didn't matter as much for a long time. by the time monitoring GPU usage mattered, the temps mattered.
