Hi all, I am totally a newb, and I've been experiencing some headaches in regards to my newly built by Microcenter PC (well fairly new, as it is over a year old but has had less than a fews weeks of accumulated use), would anyone be kind enough to help direct me to a forum on how I can adjust the proper manual BIOS settings, please? Yes! I do have the manual, however due to DDR5 being still kind of new, my PC has not been getting the proper power output I paid for, (not looking to overclock, just to get the full 6k mhz my ddr5 is labeled as) I understand that there were some issues when DDR5 first came out and when the person who built my PC adjusted it, my AIO has been working yet has the red triangle exclamation on the lcd screen, and a few months ago, I kept getting the blue screen crash after an hour or so of use, and my BIOS (I think reset itself to the default settings?) also my fairly new ASUS 42 OLED goes black for a second and back on randomly. Having said all this, I kind of just want to work on this from the bottom and make sure my PC is running the way it's supposed to. ICYMI, My other 1440p 240hz monitor never blacks out.

max cpu mem controller support is 4800, any higher than that is an OC. U can try enable XMP profile in Bios, but that may result in no post or stability issues. Also, how much ram (GB) and how many sticks? 2x sticks may be able to run at XMP, but 4x, puts to much strain on mem controller and will have issues. (personal experience with my hardware) i have 12900k and asus proart z690 mobo. 32gb corsair ddr5

u can run 4x sticks no issue, just not at those higher clock speeds. Its a choice, less ram, more speed, more ram less speed. 32GB is more than enough for almost anything most folks do. Unless u run HyperV, Virtual machines, or editing programs that need crap ton of memory

I want to add, that a week later after my PC was built, I came back to MicroCenter and requested that I wanted to get the most out of my 6400mhz RAM, and the same guy that built it accommodated, and I picked up my PC a day later, and it had the full 6400mhz running, however I was getting a lot of BSOD after an hour, maybe 2 of gaming

yes. in the case of wanting to run your ram at its higher supported speed. Teh ram is faster than the cpu can support natively. If you want to run the ram at the higher speed, then you would be overclocking you cpus memory controller. Which, can have detrimental effects elsewhere.

The techs that work at MicroCenter (or Best Buy Geek Squad)....can vary in experience. Where i worked, they hired complete noobs that never had opened a PC. Had to be taught how to do things. Others, like me, been building and repairing pcs since we were still in diapers...lol

If you pc is working fine now, as it is. then leave it. don't waste time and money and a long drive to try and "fix" it

I... don't pay attention to life of a cable honestly. Most cables that have broken on me, is due to extreme wear, water, vacuum or cat ate it. The only cables that I know for sure that have worn out fast on me is the OEM white Google usb c cables that came with, and i bought more of when i had a Pixel years back.
