The smaller portion of customers will have to support a large amount of services that's being used for free. Then, some companies will come up with creative ways to increase revenue. Netflix pushing ads to paying customers and trying to stop people from sharing, Pantone trying to take money by removing their colors from Adobe's built-in licensing, Nintendo allowing only cloud save but disabling some game saves by default.

This free-tv thing is a symptom of that

I've said it before, if the service or item is not a product, you are the product.

Even if the current and next generations want to stop this, I foresee there is no way of digging ourselves out of this hole.

As a real customer of eightsleep let me just say the product itself is great but the QC is horrible. I've had 5+ replacements in 3 years. However customer support has been extremely good to me, everytime 8ve asked for a replacement I've had one sent out to me withing an hour or two and they never asked for me to waste my time by sending back the damaged product.

It's an extreme love hate relationship I have with eight sleep.

The mattress part isn't what I was saying would fail, that would probably be fine for all eternity. The topper contains all the tubing to run water through it whereas the mattress just has it basically sewn in underneath a different foam material which wouldn't need to be removed. My only issue with the mattress is you're stuck with that tubing inside of it even if the actual pump portion fails and if you're out of warranty because you decided to not continue the Plus subscription at $25/mo
