anyways i still need ur guyss opinion
As with all things, it depends on the workload and also on what you are pairing it with, if you can climb up a tier on the GPU side by going with a little cheaper chip that's usually a good option for gaming
i think they should work? sorry i’m not actually familiar with these things, and my google-fu seems to be failing me a bit
Yoghurt, buy a Mac
Tried google like hell and even found a site where I asked in their Help chat. They asked if I was a Company Customer and I said no, just private and then they changed and would not help me...
can someone suggest me a hardcore/intense free antivirus?
You are better off asking on the forum tbh about enterprises level gear
I REFUSE
Windows defender + not clicking suspicious links
yeah that sounds like hp
I hope you know I was being sarcastic yoghurt
:/
so windows defender is the best free av?
I mean, a MacBook pro will genuinely be excellent for editing in 4k
i just want to do a full system scan
It isn't even av at this point
IK I'm even thinking about grabbing one for editing and I am not an apple fan
More like "don't fcking click it"
goddamn. new rc speed record, 214mph
lol
first of all, its YOGURT... WITHOUT THE h, all you damn british people and your bo'oh o' wa'er
jkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjk
- If you are using supported codecs
im using h.265
Im dyslexic and reply on autocorrect...
oh ok sorry :D
no worries
whats a good mobo price these days
Ya, hard to find info. All the tapes I got with the Machine is never used, even sealed. They like 35$ per tape aswell.. Got 30 of them tapes. I can try 1 but so dump if it doesnt work..
it's too high (meme)
Around 150 usd on a budget
for what
am5 with WIFI... and cool rgb
250
oh ok thanks
you can get without rgb for much less
it also need ddr5 support
Whats the total budget, I joined late
all the ones im finding are 500+
3.5k AUD
thanks bro
since you're in australia, https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/cRQcCJ/msi-pro-b650m-a-wifi-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-pro-b650m-a-wifi
for what
hmmm... decent, although depending on the file format, bitrate and length 2tb may be limiting for 4k editing
hey. can anyobody help me with some java code perhaps?
just regular gaming?
4k60 video editing
what if i did 500gb ssd 5tb harddrive
Naa bad idea
500gb NVMe and a 2+tb sata SSD?
HDDs too slow for 4k, trust me, I tried
lmao ok thanks
BX500 I would suggest for a sata SSD
i was just gonna get a barracuda compute but ill check it out
oh ok...
If you really wanna go HDD get a WD black preferable, or a blue 7200k rpm
wait what’s wrong with seagate
But you will not be able to use it as a scratch disk
theyre pretty reliable from my experience 😭
If they last they last, but a concerning number of them die very young, like in the hundreds of hours age
ill take that risk dude $69 for 2tb is too good
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/x7rR2m @barren kindle
whats the difference between sata ssd and hdd???
SSD is FAR FAR Faster
upgraded cpu and 4tb nvme
hate to be that person but could you provide a source? this is the first i’m hearing of this
Looking at the drive failures by the manufacturer, Backblaze noted that Seagate leads the pack, with Toshiba in second place. That's not to say that Seagate hard drives are less reliable. On the contrary, the company's Seagate drives are substantially older than the other vendors. Furthermore, Backblaze explained that Seagate drives are typically cheaper, although their failure rates are higher in the environment where they operate. Nonetheless, the failure rate isn't significant enough to turn the drives into less cost-effective options over their lifetime.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/backblaze-hdd-failure-rates-2022
They fail more often, with that said, they are cheaper and if they do go, they go far
do i just get a sata 970 evo 2tb then??
get the 4tb a440
P.S. I run all seagates atm I only learned about it recently
DRAM cache? If so then I agree go for that
what in the world is a dram cache
It's a small amount of RAM on an SSD without it, they don't perform all that well
the a440 looks good to me tbh 4tb at that, good find
not true
Guys I have a small question to ask. Is it worth going from Palit Gamerock 3080 to a Sapphire Nitro+ SE 6900xt if I'm paying a difference of 70 bucks. My main use for it is gaming at 1440p
Do we have data on enterprise SSD?
its not absolutely necessary
For video editing... it kinda is
especially if you are running your OS on the same drive
fair
but the drive seems good to me
is it cheaper to get 3tb nvme ssd or 500gb nvme 2tb sata ssd
get the 4tb... jeez
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/x7rR2m this list made by nick
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
what a waste of money
oh...
this is literally worse than the list nick made...
that whole build is silly
Better CPU and storage on the one nick made
yea but i want it to look nice as well
...
why
its gonna be sitting on my desk all nice and pretty
look at your monitor instead
this the first build ive ever done😭
Looks are subjective, performace isn't. But...
At the end of the day, it's your cash, it's up to you what you buy. We are just telling you there is a better way. But seriously I gotta get to work
oh ok thanks for ur help byee
Have a good day everyone
is it really that bad tho???? i feel like its pretty decent
it is 400 AUD more, for 62.5% of the storage and 4 fewer cores
one last note, AIO watercoolers are much less reliable and fail much quicker than air coolers
sounds like a pretty bad deal to me
Anyone here watch it's always sunny in philadelphia?
for me, it looking nice is a MUST
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/r8dGrD, is there any way i could get that down to 3.5k aud?
Nah
Yup. I'm not a fan of watercooling for a few reason, that being one of them. Maybe someday I'll use an AIO, or even custom loop, but that's not today
I run AIOs, trust me, they fail
AIOs will fail sooner, in the sense that air coolers will last until the fan dies, but neither are likely to die within the reasonable lifespan of your pc
CHAT
I have a challenge for you all
I wanna know if a cooler like Gammaxx 200 v2 can cool a 7600x
i’ve heard more aio die then air coolers it does make sense tho since there’s more fail points
If the fan dies just slap one of your case fans on it
With zip ties
Sure, neither of them are likely to die while your hardware is still relevant though
yes
what 😀
Nice
Ty
Air cooling >>>>> liquid cooling
Liquid cooling just delays the throttling which means a higher throttle
😀
Aren't AIO lifespans like... 3 years?
running out of brain cells
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiTngvvD5dI
This is why I have always said you don't want a stupid expensive board because the lower volume makes it so that issues are more likely to effect any individual person. Like obviously super cheap boards have their own issues, but yeh.
A 10$ cooler like Gammaxx 200 v2 is equivalent to like a 240 AIO
what
here goes another brain cell
you're very wrong
No lmao
Yeah
A guy on YouTube tested it
Also no lmao
And only a 360 AIO managed to beat a good cheap cooler
all im saying is you’ll have more defective aios then air coolers 😀
can you link this
Yeah sure
Wait
Statistically, sure
Statistically you're unlikely to experience failure with either
🤦♂️
defective aios arent that rare
I didn't find the other one but this one compares wraith prism to a 360 AIO
Which is even better because the stock cooler only loses with 3-4% less performance
Lmao
well find the other one
Ughhhh
I'll have to go through my watch history
thats completely different
A better source
Yeah because the stock cooler is worse than a cheap tower cooler and 360 AIO is better than 240 AIO
Yeah but it's old
And raw max thermal output
New air coolers are way better
No it fucking isn't
And no they aren't
Air coolers are just now starting to manage to beat the d15
It turns out that there's only so many ways you can put fans onto a finstack with a coldplate and heatpipes
😐
I'm pretty sure a lot of the improvements are just from fan updates
Do you understand that the AIO does the same thing as a tower cooler right?
AIO just uses water
theres more to it than a heatsink and fan
pump, rad, water, fans, tubes
Oh yeah
You have to move the water so you can cool it
The thermalright assassin 120
Probably the best air cooler on the market right now
Is only equal to a 240
Why not just cool the metal
cause water is better?
Well, it's technically slightly worse than a 240, but it's close enough
Um
No
Metal moves heat faster
more conductive? you can have a much larger area due to rad?
high specific heat capacity
Air also moves heat faster
No lmao
Do you think they invented heat pipes for fun
explain the benchmarks then
what are you on about
Air is a shit thermal conductor
Are you actually just trolling
Have you ever touched a copper wire?
🤡
I didn't say it conducts heat better
I said it moves it better
if tower coolers r better explain the benchmarks
"air moves heat faster than water" lmao
People are so stupid they should build custom air loops
just blow on it - Mas probably
New heatpipe design, literally just an empty tube
Yes it does?
If that wasn't the case heat pipes wouldn't be vapor chambers

im so popular
Gas
Especially vapor moves heat so fast
Idk if you never, ever felt heat from a vapor source
But I'll recommend you try it once
Man thermal engineering is so easy
See how fast it burns your skin
7600 type of cooling
Anyways
🤡
Yeah
If it makes you any less angry
Your AIO still uses air to cool the water
???
💀
We should simply expose the bare die to air
The thermals will be incredible
Imagine
Using the entire atmosphere as our heatsink
With the unparalleled thermal performance of air we'll be able to achieve incredible ambient temperatures at max load
Yes
We should make a pool and instead of using rads, use pools to transfer heat from water to somewhere else
wtf is this turning into
I completely mixed up animes
Yes
Let me use 5 cooling fans to beat a tower cooler with 2 fans
An AIO with 3 fans outperforms an air cooler with 3 fans
What's your point
An tower cooler with one fan destroys an AIO with one fan
What's your point
Sounds like a personal problem
Don't spread dumb misinformation like "wraith prism is just as performant as a 360mm AIO"
idk i’m a pretty big air stan ngl
Nope
AIO is more expensive
A bit better if you configure it as best as you can
And has huge amount of risk if it fails
would be dead if i didn’t have some air LOL
Watch the video and tell me how it isn't
You'd be dead without water too
Fun facts
You can survive months without water
wellll i don’t think i can drink the water in an aio 😆
do tell
Keep sending a 3 years old video and refuse to watch a new one
This is from last month lmao
That's why they are using a 3950x?
Do you understand how benchmarks work
Why am I asking
😂
wait it's noise normalised?
yes thats how it should be done
That's where air gets shit on the least, yes
3950x still very fast CPU
irrelevant
Sure
Go spend 600$ on AIO
I'll take my 10$ air cooler ty
Wait,there are 600$ aios?
good job changing your argument after losing
That are a waste of money?
Sure
He still hasn't watched the video I sent
i’ve got like a £90 air cooler lol
I also think AIOs are a waste of money, but, they can be much better than even the best air coolers.
Wait till you get into custom Liquid Cooling
Yeah
You have to spend at least double that to get an AIO with same performance
Oh, weird
Good job being so wrong
I did
it claims that a wraith prism is very close to being as good as a 360mm aio lmao
If it 7600,maybe
no you don't
an arctic 360 is around the same price
and outperforms literally every single consumer air cooler
Please do not take that advice
That’s not even true
why’d bro delete his guess 💀
i did not
War shipped
Google says its 150$
what’s that mean
Good source
bro put the $ sign after the money
What did I wrote?
it's low stock, but you can find them for like $120
we are talking to a true intellectual
Mas
Not you
Idk
My bad
In my language we put it after the numbers xD
Because idk where he’s getting his info from
where are you from
Middle East
Why ask?
one video
Information about what?
What’s your point
See the video
It will say what's my point
I don't know about destorys, but I'm fairly certain he means a 120/140mm AIO which yeh like a NH-D15 or whatever will match or more likely beat such an AIO. Hence why you could only be using a 120/140mm AIO in a super compact systems to get heat directly out of the system where there are resistions which reduce airflow to the point that a air cooler would be much worse, or there just isn't the clearance for a reasonably sized air cooler.
Not really how it works
You kinda have to elaborate your point and the source reinforces it
or both
AIO's are a waste of money
Because a good cheap tower cooler can beat or match a AIO that costs double that
Why when it’s better than the cooler
and why exactly are they a “waste of money”
AIOs are a waste of money
omegaluls in custom loop
It will be funny,if he is about T series of CPUs
Gammax 200 v2 is similar to a wraith prism
And in that video the guy shows how wraith prism only loses 4-5% to a 360m AIO
Oh, someone still makes those
still loses
Yes but that's a 360 AIO
Also
That was a horrible video for a reference, 7000 series barely produces any heat, you should probably look at 12th and 13th gen for better comparisons
I said it is the same as a 240m
😐
Oh,power tweaking with 7000 ,that video about
Even without the tweaks
Oh your they were using Ryzen 7000, yeh bad plan for thermal testing
Also tweaks are done for both
Yes,you can hold tgmax on 7000 with stock cooler
Yes
So why buy an AIO
And 7000 made to hold tgmax without degradation
Usually for looks
And cooling
That was my point
Like if a shitty stock cooler can cool it good enough for most things
Why spend 200$ on an AIO
It's still red lining CPUs, it's not good
the normal CPUs will run at 90C pretty much no matter what, you can put a crappy cooler on it and mostly what will happen is that the CPU will just reduce power
Air coolers still look better
Yep I'm one of them 😛
Especially in hot non controlled climates
So when does your opinion come into factoring facts
you might lose like 1 - 2% performance but the power reduction is like almost half.
who cares if you think it looks better
I'm sorry
Soft tubes running all over the case is not beautiful
I give for up like 4 gens, maintenance not worth it
Again who cares
Your not everyone else’s money let them do what they want
if I want a 120 AIO I’m getting it
It's not better looking
It costs more
Stock cooler cools the cpu just fine for free
this dude is just gonna keep shilling for air coolers
this is bullshit lol
Yes
Fall back plan
"let us burn our money we don't care"
ah yes
the 7950x's stock cooler of
nothing
You cannot take someone else having a different opinion than you can you
i had a stock cooler my r5 3600 was close to 80°c playing games 💀
Wraith prism is like 10$ man
@novel tendon a lot of people have pc like 20-30cm from them in desk, aio makes less noise
And is shit
stock cooler is also much louder.
why are you giving advice to trash coolers
Noctua Tower coolers make less noise
shit value
you could get a cheap 240 for that price
And this only works specifically for R7k
Aio in same price category can do it even less
And you give the advice to the more overpriced cooler
Oh
Then just buy gammax 200 v2
Less even
What
Bruh
Most AIO will have more noise
Idfk what this dude is even talking about
thermalright peerless 120 is like $40 or something
That's fair. It can be a real pain (especially if it's coloured coolant) where it leaves gunk on the blocks. I now use Distilled water with Mayhems Inhibitor+ and Hades+ additives or clear coolant for that very reason. That can last up til a good year as with coloured coolant and UV ones I find myself doing maintenance and cleaning every 6 months or so at minimum.
In the same price
Because they have more fans
Your stupid saying that
There’s no way
To be fair though you buy a decent air cooler and it will last you forever consider Noctua give free mounting hardware upgrades.
I don't know how you can justify any tower coolers over $40 that aren't noctuas
More fans?
idkk i got a be quiet one 😄
And even tighter fins to go through so more high pitch noise?
so I don't mind spending extra on a Noctua cooler because I'll just keep it for a long ass time.
works real nice keep cpu cool and is quiet 🤐
How does more fans matter
If the curve is better they’ll still be just as quiet.
I really don’t think you know what your talking about at this point
I'm buying a gammax 200 v2 for my 7600x
buying from noctua is just dumb
This guy is dumb
lol
why would you buy a 7600x
pbo is free
The only worthy Noctua product is probably their A12X25 fans. Even then that isn't saying much
Yeah
You can't do that because hot air will move up
You still have to fight air's tendency to go up
No,half of kg of copper on CPU is best in wind tunnel
?????
7600 non available in my country
nope, p12 is a bit better
wtf are you waffling mate?
???? What???
What does hot air have to do with noise????
though noctua makes good smaller fans
You have to pull air through rads to make heat go away
Oh my god
What is a good microphone that is XLR supported? Lower that 300 AUD probably, and what interface should i use? Ive seen Go XLR's or something being used, dunno if thats something to get.
while their stuff is, at this point, definitely getting ridiculously expensive
you used to be able to get them at a pretty reasonable price considering that they would last you through several builds
what if you top mount your rad
Those are server passive coolers for CPUs
Now you really don’t know what your talking about
Hot Air will go up no matter what
And most rads are designed to pull air down through them
what
dude just stop your going worse and worse
Technically
if hot air rose harder than fans blew
we would not use fans
no
uhh 🤔
if hot air beats fans
then we would simply design things for hot air instead of fans
Yes
That's why I'm saying you need higher rpm on rads
Best cooler,if you have extra room
Than on tower coolers
ur speaking waffle to me mate
But everything you just said was so highly incorrect
How
What's waffle?
You don’t know how a RAD works
Does hot air not go up?
ur not making any sense
Oh
Or does rad fans not pull air through rads?
yes heat rises ur point?
Then you need higher rpm to pull air through rads my dude
they don't understand that radiators are direction agnostic or that hot air does not meaningfully impact the effectiveness of a fan
but what if your rad is at the top
Why would you be pulling air down when you exhausting
Oh
Good luck with cat hair all over your pcb
like that makes no sense
what if you dont have a cat
Pretty much. On the Watercooling side, those (A12x25s) were pretty popular for rads on 120mm fans. With NoiseBlocker Eloops (B14-PS) being popular with the 140mm options
Dust
Now I use T30s if at all possible for 120s
Good luck with cleaning your pc
@novel tendon there is reason why people allow water in their PC and looks like it's good reason
but the thing is ur air cooler is getting the heat straight from the gpu using that way of going about it
they apparently managed to build an air cooler that can do 700w, so it seems like they just haven't bothered updating their consumer lineup in a while
Guys
Yes?!
No
Because you really have no idea about the topic your on, and that pretty much just proved it
And your AIO is making heat go towards your gpu and making it more hoter
I had a corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz ddr 4 ram
I bought and installed another stick but motherboard isn't detecting it
…..
😐 sure
yeah i’m out of brain cells guys
is it in the right slot
This dude is an actual idiot
Previous one was in b2 slot
doit
And it’s worse he believes his own misinformation
So installed the new one on A2 slot
Sure bro
Learn to type first
HAHaHaHAJHAh
Learn the right information first
so far your not doing a good job
And the fact your nitpicking little things to make the conversation go somewhere else pretty much tells me you know your wrong
Do I need to do anything on the bios?
Though even in the bios it's not showing up
I've wonder when they'll release the A14X25. They've been rumoured to come out God knows when for years and still nothing. The only thing that proves they exist is that 4080 Noctua×ASUS card
pie, you're asking for it
Oh yeah
Pulling air through rads does not need more rpm than just blowing air into some metal fins
laughs in correct information
Eh I wanna see how bad it can get
tower coolers have radiators so
Huh?
supposedly they're updating the d15 soon
Yes
But pulling air through them is harder than blowing air to them
They have been teasing it for like 7 years
then put your fans under it?
🤦
Don’t even
I don’t know anymore
Radiators are heat exchangers used to transfer thermal energy from one medium to another for the purpose of cooling and heating.
But then your pc turns into dust bags
Guys i bought something from newegg and i didnt make an account before i bought it and now it wont let me track the order 😭
guys stop arguing with this troll
But it’s fun
you will see it on your porch
Had you put address correctly?
Watching pub chat be pub chat is entertaining NGL
Also I have another question
We all here for that
most motherboards are fine
no, get an asus prime b650 plus
if you're doing a 7600x literally any am5 motherboard will be fine
its such a good mobo
No
Asus prime series has shit power phases
am5 is also super power efficient so I don't even know if high end vrms matter whatsoever
Just don't overclock, with voltage mades on old bios
asus prime boards are the best
No it does for me
it's a 7600x who gives a shit
The prime is same price as tuf gaming here
then buy the tuf?
It's pretty low consuming CPU,anyway
Yes but idk if tuf is good enough
Hell a 7950X even can be put on a motherboard with a quarter of what the VRM on the Taichi board has
the prime is better
it's a 7600x
it will run on a potato with a mosfet stuck in it
Or get 3d version and don't worry about vrm
yep
Yes but I'll upgrade it down the road
You fine
I don't wanna get stuck with a useless mobo
Ai
people ran zen 3 off old b450 motherboards
it doesn't matter
vrm marketing is a scam
if it's not throttling your shit it's fine
I've seen people run 5950Xs on X370
No
I'm talking like overall quality and support for more ram and stuff
ram is limited by the memory controller or whatever anyways
I'm looking at dropping a 3950x in my x370 board
What about like bios flash back?
why did that reply lmao
Asus tuf has it or no?
The traces on the mobo can effect your max MHZ
idk look it up
After few years under building vrm and AMD return, and Intel hadn't direct answer, so they pushed clocks to limited, vrms in good place now
I did but some say it does some say it doesn't
More like they pushed their power limits to the extreme.
yeah, maybe if we're talking more than the what
6000 that zen 4 maxes out at?
My case will have 4 fans so I'm not worried about thermals
They pushed everything

But I'm very worried about features
why
Cuz I'm a nerd
You can buy extra expansion card at any point
how2buymobo
- will thorttle?
- have ports?
- cheap
It was a issue even on DDR4.
I will overclock and under volt it to oblivion
it's an issue if you're a hardcore overclocker, not if you want to run your xmp
A better motherboard will have more efficient VRMS and undervolt Better which is required for zen4 to get the rated performance
That's why AMD is working on QDR5
no it isn't lmao
what is "rated performance"
Qdr is for 2030+
rated performance, i.e normal ass benchmarks just use stock settings
I remember that 3800/1900 hole that was prominent in Ryzen 3000 and 5000 even
you can turn on PBO and undervolt if you want
Yeah but we don't need 10000mhz+ till then probably
although frankly, you're probably GPU bound anyways
Zen4 boost clocks. Stick it simply won’t do them even on amazing coolers.
I will use it for cpu mining so no
A ds3h can run a stock 7950x no issue. Just don't buy the bad boards and you're good
You mean MT/s right?
Yeah
My bad
Both 12/13 gen and 7000 ddr5 controllers suck,and 10k schedule for 2025
That's the thing! The VRM that the X670E Taichi has, that CPU will be fine with a quarter of that
AMD's specified boost clock is for bursty loads under optimal conditions
Yeah probably
PBO under volt is such a good thing
Support our in-depth testing! Grab a 3D Component Coaster Pack https://store.gamersnexus.net/products/3d-coaster-pack-4-component-coasters on the GN store, or consider a Wireframe Blue & Black Mouse Mat https://store.gamersnexus.net/products/gn-wireframe-mouse-mat (we also have Modmats for PC building, toolkits, shirts, and more)
In this review ...
Many of my friends have -30 curve optimiser
GN did find their 7950x hit the rated 5.7 in cinebench single threaded
this was under stock settings and an arctic 360
Yeah but PBO will make it hit that I think
Are people still talks about that 95C?
I don't believe they test with PBO unless explicitly stated
I really wanna lap my next cpu just because
Who cares about ST, MT is what matters
Yeah but I think they should
you, apparently
PBO is really easy to set up and get like 5% more performance
Kinda,but not required
PBO is also technically overclocking
You can just put some of those cheap heat sinks on it
Those small tiny ones on amazon
What 95°C, eco mode is best mode.🙏
And put like some thermal pads under it
I don't know how to get to 95C on my 7950x....
PBO curve optimiser is the best
I know, it's in server rack...under 700g of copper with 3 high pressure fans, but still...
My cooling would be able to handle it, but I don't feel like using twice the power for 5% more performance. Not with electricity cost here
Yea, just extra power limited not worth cost
Because it will perform like shit without one
No
It's just cool to DIY stuff
Here's the general rule of thumb
Is it sold it with one? Probably doesn't need one
I DIYed a phone cooler
So it probably doesn't need one
So cpus don't need coolers
Some don't for sure
😐
But a lot of cpus do come with coolers :)
7950x doesn't
Also this ^
Higher end cpus don't because companies don't give a shit about putting the r&d into it for consumers buying their most expensive shit
I mean look at nvidia
They fuck over all their consumers
:)
Nope doesn't need
What are you even going to be doing with it
If you're not hitting it with sustained heavy load a heatsink will do nothing
Yeah I was making a joke but also this message was for ssd's not cpus it just got twisted
100% stress test
100% max read and 100% max write constantly
Not even remotely close
I sure have been saying that
Text does not stutter and I'm getting tired of repeating myself
i use more then that on my 3060 💀
this camera got so much zoom I can see the dust
If it was light out rn I'd show you up
But macro mode requires a shitton of light on my phone
Oneplus 7t
tf is this
Heard of OnePlus but idk if I've ever actually seen one of their phones. I have the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Have no idea what I'm going to do for my next phone. I never meant to get 3 Samsung phones in a row... I've had Samsung since like, 2013-14 or something.
ceiling fan light fixture
Nice, I haven't tried to take too many photos like that
It makes sense
Papers are fiber
But we can't physically see the fibers like that
I had to hand solder those resistors btw
I dropped one and spent ten minutes finding it
electronic C O M P O N E N T S
Oh shit this dude works at a fab
You have no idea how many electronic components I have collected from sweeping off the machines or floor that came out of the reels one way or the other. I keep collecting... I have bags full
That's literally what it would be. Just random microchips, transistors, capacitors, resistors, etc. etc.
Honestly electronic component mystery bags would be fuckin legit
I would genuinely buy one
I keep thinking I'm going to try and do something with some of them, maybe someday, but I'd never be able to touch even a quarter of these. I'm going to keep collecting them anyways, it's fun.
You how much money just in components are just sitting on the floor? Fuck.
I can even check Plex to see how much they pay for some of the parts when I'm at work.
If you're okay selling a small bag of random components lemme know that'd be so interesting
I got two mystery gifts from my uncle who worked in electronics scrapping
One gpu's working and the other one's not

ignore the fork
What even is the bar thing
i can’t ignore it
it keeps dragging me in to focus on it 💀
the orange thing?
Ye
it's a pretty nice for a plastic fork, to be fair
One sec, I know the name, I'm just forgetting
Fort Minor
no that’s an hip hop/rapper
Remember The Name
is a 1080p 75Hz monitor too much for a laptop with an i5-4200U
No
so issues like overheating or something else should not be concern
i finally got DP to work (turned out it was just a bios issue) and i can finally enjoy the 75Hz
now excuse me im gonna go play minecraft at 24 frames per minute
okay i havemt even played minecraft yet and the sucker is at 60
I'll have to get back to you on it. I know the name but can't remember or find any information on it. I'd have to tell you later.
Don't put too much effort in for me it isnt that important lol
Even at work people call it an antenna, when it's not, I figured it out before but now I can't remember. It's some sort of coil
No problem. I'll message you what it is sometime though, especially by the time I'm back at work in a couple days. Now I want to remember what it is anyways, because it's a weird component. I remember when I looked it up before it was different.
So many SMD/SMT components have shit markings on them. Not even talking about his one specifically, actual ICs can be harder to find information on than you'd think
Yeah it's a pain in the ass.
Wait... Am I a hipster? Because like when everyone was like "OMG Elon is a genius, Elon is X, Y and Z." I was like well, yeh he's done some impressive stuff but he also lies a lot and like while he has had successful companies the things he has been doing haven't really been that revolutionary and it's been more about acquiring talent and technologies etc.
Now while I'm not defending Elon I find myself defending his companies... although Tesla is almost certainly still way over valued.
So do I just like being contrarian or am I even handed.
You're not alone as far as being a contrarian goes. Was always the black sheep of the family.
The fact that he made a shithole of a social media site worse than it already was boggles my mind
Ah I don't think he is insane, he is just completely out of his wheelhouse and floundering.
imo it doesn't matter what figurehead is used to get the job done, we need to be pushing as a global force to advance technology to the point where we can spread out past earth
you can call it what you like, but he is unhinged.
most people are unhinged to a degree
What does unhinged mean?
Like not on the hook of what?
does anybody know a server that explains rc stuff
yep
"mentally unbalanced; deranged.:
Or anybody here
Remote control stuff?
You're lucky Bob's active kek
Yeah like planes
ask your question
Just ask and see if people respond
Eh that isn't particularly important, for the cost of doing anything in space you can do it cheaper on Earth, like do I think we should be bringing rare Earth materials from space, hell yeh.
But colonizing space just isn't important because you can build a massive bunker on Earth which could suvive almost anything for way cheaper than building space habitats or habitats on Mars or the moon.
Is there something else I can use instead of ply wood for the base? I’m making a foam a10 warthog and I don’t have a laser cutter so no luck
... you can just cut plywood with a jigsaw
Well it can be lucrative to start a moon base
to start missions from there?
Don’t have that either
jigsaws are cheap.
Less gravity so less fuel required to launch but getting everything there is very hard
needs more space elevator
You can use anything as a base for an rc as long as your motors are powerful enough
I can’t find plywood
3d print a base
were you looking in a 7-11?
Yeah some sci-fi writers talk about those
but that requires the world to work together to make one, allot of research is required to make this
Stationary stores and wood stores
"guys this panera doesn't have ANY wood"
hardware store.
Every wood store I find is just a furniture store
I don't think that's true, I mean sure you could conceivably build a massive bunker which can house 8 billion plus people, but the time and material to build it would outweigh its existence. Not only that, but the level people would go to to fight such a massive thing from being built, it just wouldn't happen.
Also the point is to make these things cheaper by having them happen, a habitat on the moon becomes cheaper the more habitats you build.
Eh that has the pants gnome issue, where it's
Step 1 build a sustainable habitat on the moon to support missions beyond the moon
Step 2: ?
Step 3: Profit.
You forgot step 4 profit 😉
After the sustainable habitat you create a disneyworld-esque theme park like in futurama
sure dude, now where do I get the money to get a jigsaw
Yeh you could, for a faction of the price of doing it in space.
But we want the real moon experience not the Disney moon experience
You can’t just buy one for 100
dude you can buy them for like.. $30?
what
just launching 8 billion people off Earth would take more resoruces than building like bunkers in the sea or something like that.
You can house 8 billion people in a bunker for cheaper than it would take to build habitats on the moon?!
ok sorry mb
Cheap jigsaw is not that expensive
Like when we talk about space travel we're not talking about all 8 billion people
there's a few people I'd like to launch into space.
Yeah not all 8 billion people go to space, that be too big of an undertaking as a chinese sci-fi writer noted it’s easier to move the planet to a new system but then again it’s scifi
probably has some loopholes
Some gotta stay, like People who eat nothing but ketchup in a sandwich
I'll volunteer once it gets safe enough, for that hazard pay on the asteroid mining rig
oh no, there's nothing doing. They are just launched into space, end of.
3rd problem is how do I do it accurately to measurements
That's just drowning them in the ocean but inversed
Oh it's Ziggy
Cause I kind of see my self doing it completely incorrectly
hi
Well make a paper template?
Hey man
how's it goin
use a square, and a ruler, and etc? this is not rocket surgery 🙂
Why do you want to an asteroid mining rig? I know I probably lack the context-
Copy your design on paper and check if the size is correct after that write it down. And copy the template on wood? By cutting the paper in size and make a new template of plywood
hazard pay would be awesome in space
asteroids often have a LOT of stuff you want.
Pretty bad tbh, my neck hurts af and my lungs feel like exploding
Other than that, fine
Yeah, but like, I wouldn't need to work there
Well unradiated aluminium for example might fetch a good price
most aluminium in the world is radiated
drink some tea
Then not only do you have the issue of launching those 8 billion people, you also have to build somewhere for them to live, lets just say it's the same and call that a wash, but you have to launch the machines to build the machines to make the habitats to, where as on Earth we have the machines here breathable air and gravity we know is not going to cause long term issues.
The excuse of "we need another place to put humanity." is a dumb one
I had two spoons of maple syrup for fun
It's so sweet, it tastes great
We could send a seeder out into space and colonise that way?
Wouldn't so much ores from space cause all ores on Earth to have no real value
Well that’s a good thing we need ores as well for construction and chips industry
there are rare Earth materials in asteroids in high abundance.
And we could use more ores on the moon perhaps?
to fortify our moon base?
So I agree that the point isn't to create another place for humanity, as in to completely move everybody all at once, but having the option via slow production of alternatives and research via applied theory would allow it so that if a disaster ever does come we're at least a significant step towards being able to move all or most of the people. That's likely not going to be needed in our lifetime, but what we can do now is start setting it up for the future and create more advancements in tech to make it significantly cheaper than current day.
I would start with revolution in Nvidia's leadership
Gold, Platinum and Helium will be another one in like 100 years or so, but you would have to go to Jupiter or one of the ice giants for that or the kuiper belt.
Would lightfolding/ travelling over lightspeed ever be possible?
If disaster proofing your society is the goal it's just not the most cost effective way of doing it.
Mining helium would be interesting as it’s a finite resource
That's a question like "What's inside of a Black Hole"
No one knows
Just wanted to see some response and see what other people think 🤔
Yeah, there's your response.
Our knowledge about the universe is still seriously lacking. We will figure them out probably, but now no one knows.
There are so many black holes in the universe black 🕳️ every big universe has one.
Like you can ague that it could be more easily sold to people as exploration so therefore it's a effective method in general and some people will be willing to bank roll that and it also disaster proofs humanity, but as I said it's not the most cost effective way of doing it.
No form of disaster proofing (for disasters that are extremely rare) is cost effective, when your local electric company's new building is EMP proof, it wasn't cheap.
Gonna be interesting about communicating
Black Holes are terrifying
Never met one , they could be pleasant and invite you to tea 🫖 [jk]
What I am saying is that you could build bunkers on Earth that people can live in for 100s of years much more cost effectively than colonizing space.
They are so lonely tho. Neverending, always-expanding nothingness
gotta get read for work cya
Well if we fall together in a hole we can talk forever
wouldn’t that be romantic 💘
Did you guys read the theories about the ending of the universe
Which one?
Which one is the most terrfying in your opinion
Good question , big tear? As in ever expanding never ending
Because that means you keep on going . But never know where it ends
Imo Heat Death
I think you could do both, especially with the ability to harvest ore from asteroids and other celestial bodies, which would make their production even cheaper. However, the right conditions could be presented that completely fry earth to its core, or smash into it with a bigger rock than the moon when it smashed into Earth billions of years ago. There's a lot of factors in creating armor for Earth and its people, and it would be wise to work on all solutions in tandem so that if something like that ever happens then we've got multiple options, including the "gtfo" option if we need it
Oh that’s just a small universe sun death, was thinking everything everywhere all at once like we can never get all out matter back together
Also have you seen that movie Don't Look Up?
Big Crunch is the most positive of the negative ones
Big collapse would be one of the better ones
At least live can start over again
Exactly
Isn't the current theory something to the effect of, after the heat death for a significant amount of time the super mega black holes eventually become one
Maybe, that’s the fun thing it’s not proven which one it is
And maybe they then explode
Black Holes die off according to our theories
But some can explode, no?
But what happens with all that matter
I don't really know if it has the power to form a new universe
But it will probably be heat death anyway...
So apparently they don't really explode but they have "outbursts"
Ye, they slowly evaporate
Well, at least we think that
so that's the thing I guess, like I can understand the heat death could cause things to really slow down and there might even be a time where these outbursts from a black hole could be so cold that few reactions happen, but the amount of matter doesn't change so if it continued to condense it might end up retaining or recreating heat enough that one of those outbursts could recreate the universe
This gives me depression
It really shows how even the most powerful human is extremely insignificant
don't worry, it's an unfathomable amount of time
There's something on it though
Like, everyone (I guess) silently believes there is a chance for a second life
This makes it seems like you're just done when you die. No chances whatsoever.
It's unfortunate, but there's a good chance of that
There's a chance of many possibilities from any religious belief, but there seems to be a bigger chance that all of those concepts are what humanity used before it could really look around and understand its place in the universe.
mote of dust in a sunbeam. We are insignificant vs even the life of our planet, let alone the solar system let along the galaxy let alone the universe
You think it's a long way down to the shops, well that's just peanuts next to space
But also, it's important to remember that scale is infinite. We are equally significant and insignificant, we just normally pay attention to one at a time because we have a limited cognitive capability.
I think, but then, it was abused. They (In the middle ages, elite class) thought them that there will be a better life, so they were ok with dying early and being slaves...
100%
exactly - from a philosophy perspective, nothing matters and everything matters is the same logical endpoint.
Ye
it's far more complex than that, but yes, religion has been used as a tool to control people since forever.
Abusing religion to use humans is imo one of the worst things that ever happened/are happening. But it's still happening today... poor people.
It's disgusting
if it wasn't that it would be something else, people gonna peep
Taking the above into account, it can be interpreted as abuse but it could also be interpreted as a benevolence. Like most people are going to be trapped in some form of "slavery" throughout their life, no matter what exactly you call it. So at least those people were able to go through it. Imagine you were both a slave, and you knew what the truth was. Prolly not very fun.
We have three ltt Jakes now
One thing I didn't really know ever, was how many people didn't believe/didn't want to believe. It's weird no history channel/book/lesson talked about atheism.
I think atheism grew a lot more once we got past the industrial age.
Guys. Who can help me setting up remote ftp server (Mac as host)
It's a pretty modern thing, but someone had to be an atheist even before right? I mean, in developed countries
Before that, even somebody who "didn't believe" would call themselves whatever denomination they were raised with and probably still go to church.
Yeah. The church was practically manipulating entire continent (Europe) at some point. But, the church did horrible things, like, you bought a piece of paper which "cleaned you off your sins"
And meanwhile people were starving, church members enjoyed wealthy life.
Yeah, the church has done a lot of crime lol
Isn't that weird
Nah, it's human nature
Humans in general have done a lot of crime... Humans are human
The reason why we can never become beings on another level.
We're animals... just smarter.
All humans have duality, it's a conscious choice to choose good over evil
Well we already are "beings on another level"
That's literally what I was about to say. Even staight up irreligious charities get caught up in crimes and abuse.
Churches are made up of people, people are going to do shitty stuff regardless of banner they fly or what they believe.
Only way they wouldn't is if there were an actual god they had proof of that they feared, and given human nature thus far they might still.
But at that point you could blame the god imo
It doesn't matter. Even the most religious people can end up doing shitty things. Even if god himself came down people would still do bad things. By the time I was born my family didn't go to church or anything, for whatever reason. I went from and edgy teenage reddit atheist, to more agnostic, to more religious, or at least have beliefs.
At this point in time I don't go to any specific church or anything, but I definitely don't consider myself an atheist anymore.
Regardless of that, people do shitty things. Religious or not.
You might be interested in the Youtube channel “Is Genesis History”.
I'd have to look more into it later.
"Great floods" are strange. For whatever reason cultures all around the Earth have massive Earth shattering flood stories ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I was just trying to differ human beliefs from charity scams, which, at some extent, can be compared to an ebay scam.
That's because human religion (if taken seriously) is a much more psychological thing. When you break someone's religion, It can mess you up in ways no one sane can imagine.
probably because... floods happen.
To be fair, the idea of “global” was far more localized thousands of years ago. It could span 100 miles it might as well be
I meant like a physical one, you can be "religious" but not religious if you know what I mean, but you would believe if a god could look you in the eye
That's true. It's not hard to imagine the rest of the 'world' is going through the same thing if a big flood happens.
Yeah I get what you mean
Right. But keep in mind people in the past also built the Pyramids and fit rocks together like putty. They weren’t as stupid as society tries to make them out to be.
yeah but society does a lot of things to make the past people seem stupid so that we and our way of life seem superior
golden age
yes, we assume historic people were stupid
Every age has pros/cons
Did you know the golden age of humanity just so happens to be when you're living in it?!
Nah. Clearly it was ancient aliens 👽
Lol
Sad we won't experience that.
History channel told me so, it's in the name
“History” channel
My personal favorite is great works of art carved in stone. Then some graffiti artist scratches their name on it and we attribute the art to the graffiti artist.
No the point is that we are experiencing it. People try and say all the time that right here right now is the best it's ever been. And they're not necessarily wrong, but also not really right either.
History Channel used to be about History. Much like how EA used to be in the game. Now it's, "EA Games: It's in your wallet"
At least Pawn Stars is still cool
Yeah. It's the best time for us, but far from a golden age of the entire humanity.
60c is fine but are all ultrabooks like this?
There’s so much shit content flying around these days
Like 15w cpu at 60 is a bit much isnt it
Golden age when there will be no hunger, poverty, and everyone can live a somehow comfortable life with all basic needs.
No
60-70 is much then no? So thats all fine?
It’s fine
People keep talking about AI being the end of civilization... Maybe. But social media might get there first ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Facebook moment
Seems too good to be true honestly
Social media helped push for it, by providing a ripple effect which created significantly more amounts of data that could be trained on for AI, all for a chance to get some ad profit on an article.
They are rated for 100 degrees so thats cool
If ultrabooks reach these temps with low power cpus imagine gaming laptops lol (never owned one so i got zero idea)
I wonder how the new Intel CPUs will be called
The internet has brought us many great things, but social media is cancerous. I honestly don't know if the good out weighs the bad
They are changing the names of their cpus?
Intel Ultra 3, 5, 7 and 9?
i10
No too complicated + doesnt make sense
Only time will tell. Remember in star wars there's good droids and bad droids, it'll be the same shit.
Yep. They try to seem relevant after having the worst quarter in one or two decades.
The "Ultra" naming they will try to push is so bad. And cringe.
is that pokemon pingu?
Wait so theyll be calling the cpus ultra so thats real holy shit they are digging their own grave
Yeah. I feel like they are getting worse and worse as a company.
I unironically can't name even most of the first generation pokemon
Since when were they even a great company in the first place
well obviously you got geodude
pingu be like
Took them three years to improve the U series processors 8–>11th gen
they're being outclassed by a GPU centric computing space rn
I liked the early Core CPUs
They did have some bangers back then
But the modern intel is not the same its not great anymore
Now they're talking about getting rid of the "i" cpu branding
If they get rid of the "i" branding they better make Pentiums the top dog again. So wasteful
Everyone i know has switched to an AMD powered system
Probably to not associate their new CPUs with something garbage like the 11th gen
I've got intel
I’m still using intel because I don’t want to upgrade just yet
I still have Core i7 860 and Athlon II 64 on display
I'm gonna be honest with you dawg. One of the reasons I went with an i9-13900k was for the cool box.
If I would have won an AM5 processor from LTT I was unironically thinking about switiching just for the upgradeability (not complaining though)
They should rename them instead to a tier system and color them like item ratings in games. So you have garbage, common, good, great, ultra
Wouldn't work out on 11th gen for example
They would make so much more money if I could go to the store and buy my gaming kid the newest ultra
I mean a cool box is a good reason to buy a cpu thats hotter than the surface of the sun if you ask me but you do you man
(Joke)
I3, i5, i7 aren’t tiers?
I don't know enough to know what you mean
I still say Intel should have made their High End Desktop and/or server CPUs Pentiums.
Yeah that's my point. They should tier it to make it easier for the average consumer.
AMD kinda lost it with the timing of release, so I get it. 1st gen on a new socket was rough even for AM4.
I wanted the power, but I also wanted a cool box. I'm a packaging kind of guy.
Obviously not the most important thing at all, but it's a cool bonus.
Have you heard it, that no Meteor Lake this year? Only Raptor Lake refresh. Or they changed it again?
Anybody with a Roku router here? The LOS indicator is flashing red. No connection on any device.
Yeah. I was debating getting a 7950x but ended up going with intel for my first actual self build.
Maybe when I upgrade someday I'll go with AMD.
But now I have a free 5600x that I don't know what I'm going to do with, still cool though ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I still have an unopened i7-12900k and MOBO I need to sell
"Yeah, I'm here to pickup my new Uber-Mega-Ultra CPU for my gaming PC"
Intel 14900K Pro Max
Not just for gaming
If they branded it Uber-Wonder-Ultra it would be UWU
I'm somewhat of a marketer myself
The more Epic-sounding words there are, the higher the tier
yeah exactly
I'm going to buy a thread ripper as a hand warmer
Gotta go picking up my Intel Core Ultra 9 14900K, let's go
lol they wouldn't dare copy apple's naming scheme after they broke up
I think they will be dropping the 14xxx
Err, no
The architecture and the name of the socket are already confirmed and know, they won't be dropping it
They're doing a refresh, so it will be lga 1700 socket still. It's amazing
They plan to make it more complex
18xxx or higher, dude, jesus
I mean the namiiing
The can treat it like 11th gen and act like it doesn't exist, but that's all they can do
No, 14th gen will be on LGA 1851
I don't know if anyone watches It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but the best cross over ever is incoming
hype
Can someone gain access to my data and reset my macOS password on a hackintosh? Opencore of course with encryption enabled
I don't think so
im using a pentium 4 on my main with 2GB ddr2 ram and a crt monitor
Not talking about 14th, they dropping a refresh on the LGA1700 socket because they dropped whatever the hell it's called
On Linux its quite easy lmao
and a nvidia g210M
Is it?
Looking forward to Zen 5
Hmm
Cheaper mobos, B650s finally
my computer is better
I wonder if zen is gonna have more slow-death scenarios like zen 4
Also why did Intel discontinue B660
A while back i forgot the password of my laptop that was running PopOS and a quick search helped reset it
if its encrypted its somewhat impossible
Yeah
Zen 5*
I don't think PopOS is made for it's security measures though
One day intel will socket their CPUs for long periods of time like AM4/AM5.... At least a man can dream
I mean you can chroot into any system
I assume because there's enough stock and 14th gen isn't that far away anymore, tbh
No, because money
Fair although if you chroot into a system, but in that system the root is set up with a password as well does it still work?
I mean like, RIP the lower budget 12th gen builds
I unironically hope AMD puts enough pressure on them to do it someday
It'll be fine for a while.
Ironically, H670 boards were cheaper than B660 for a long time in the pandemic, namely the H670 PG Riptide
Good point, I cannot remember whether if would still work or not
Nah, nothing can beat Intel's greed. As long as they're dominant, they not gonna do it
I was looking it up because you got me curious and it looks like full disk encryption is the only effective countermeasure for that
Raptor Lake refresh is here because Meteor Lake was having trouble in development
lmao just by moving the mouse i can increase the power consumption by 5-8 watts (again 15w cpu)
incorrect, it's already confirmed a new socket
and this runs discord
It's an alternative scenario so they can milk the LGA1700 even harder
I mean... yeah. this is why TPM is a thing
Total Party Mode?
Nice
That's what it was. I may upgrade for the fuck of it if it's good enough. Just sell this 13900k. We'll see
upgrading every generation or two? is a mistake and a waste of money. Just sayin'
Not with the rocket lake refresh
in the last three years I've had three GPUs and three CPUs 😄
(Also in terms of going stupid high-end? you get more out of 2 reasonably good 2-3 years apart PCs than buying one stupid high end box)
I normally don't. I just want the best CPU I can get in the LGA1700. It just depends what the refresh is like
Can i disable the mac screen permanently while connected to an external display
Noo wait for Meteor Lake or Zen 5. This refresh will not bring anything special
With a name like yours, you have a reputation to uphold
but why lol
I think you can install xrandr on mac
But then I'd have to buy a new MOBO
Then, hold to your 13900K
technically I bought 2 new GPUs in the past 6ish months, but, that's only cuz I got a 6650 XT for 90 bucks, and wasn't gonna turn it down.
Yeah, we'll see what the refresh is like, but there's a very good chance that's what I'm going to do anyways
any solution that doesnt include installing dev tools? apart from closing the led while connected to power
Not from what I can see
3600->3700X->5700X, 1660 super, 3070, 3080ti.
upgraded because I got a bigger screen and better performance for not much money
I still cringe so hard on Intel Ultra lmao
tried setting the main display in the bios to the external one but it seems like macos still recognizes the internal display
going from a 13900k to a refresh is also a bad financial decision
yeah you're better off installing dev tools + xrandr
Everytime I think about it it's so weird and laughable
"Ultra", wonder how they gonna call the KS versions
ah well
Ultra Pro? Ultra Max? Ultra Extreme?
Yeah I basically bought enough components to build two PCs for my first build, sold/selling the extras. I didn't mean to do it, but I thought I was on a tighter time frame than I ended up being on, and bunch of other stuff happened in that time (long story)
They're gonna keep K / F / S / etc. tags, they need to differentiate.
It's the i3 / i5 part that's going away.
No way they gonna call it Core 7 Ultra K
Nah it'll be the Ultra 7 K Core
No, it's a Ultra 7 14900K
which is really fucking stupid. The i5, i7, i9 is the cool part

I have everything documented as well
Now the "Ultra" is the cool part. Don't you like the word Ultra?
honestly I can't stand i3 / i5 etc,
Cuz people sell PCs saying it has an "i5 CPU"
And I'm like "There are 200 i5 CPUs. Which fucking one!?"
No. 😠
That's great, now they will call it 'But it's an Ultra 5 CPU'
What if it was "Epic"?
Ultra 7. Which Ultra 7?
I like "Ultra" way more than I enjoy the word "Benchmark"
How about Epyc?
oh, absolutely. It's gonna suck just as bad.
What about "ÆPIC"
Still gives you an idea. And regardless, I just like the i5, i7, i9, etc.
