guessing my 3070 ti is being held back massively by my i7 4970. (got the card because it was 432 dollars with tax and shipping used for a few hours, founders edition.)

upgrading to a 5800x, assuming, even though my cpu doesnt seem to be getting crucified by alot of games, its how old the architecture is making it ineffecient, as well as the drastically slower speed. the cache is a tiny fraction not to mention everything else about ddr3 platforms with vr.

blade and sorcery runs like absolute garbage with the physics system on that old cpu, but no mans sky saw massive improvements and high gpu usage. so im assuming alot of games including boneworks have a massive cpu bottleneck.

trying to run 4k vr is mean though, definately tanks your cpu when physics or AI is involved heavily. runs well on a 3070 ti even with a bad cpu.... but i cant wait to see what that thing can do with something more at its level.

yea, but nothing that would hurt it that badly. its still more capable than the 3060, despite limitations as far as culling is concerned in modern game engines.

If you are getting a new cpu, get the 7000 series cause it has ddr5 support and the next time you upgrade, you can save a bit on maybe the motherboard but definitely the ram

Tbh i would say that my 980ti performed better with my 3200G than the 2080Ti. For some weird reason there are a lot of fps drops compared to the 980ti

Maybe its my psu messing up the performance or maybe my cpu is just not going well with the gpu

I also picked up an xbox one x 1Tb for 90$ so im just using that while waiting for a new cpu
