Whenever you're changing password I hope you're also changing all recovery methods. So other e-mails, security questions, etc. Do you even have some idea as to how you got all of those accounts stolen?!

steep girder
#

If between those accounts it's two e-mails, idk honestly. Did they have like the same exact password on both?

steep girder
#

Maybe if you entered your passwords and email into it

grizzled saffron
#

I mean i downloaded a bunch of mod menus and got a trojan but i secured everything but 3 years and hes still trying

steep girder
#

But can you tell if it most likely was exactly all of the creds you entered into mod menu? So it asked for password and email? Or did you enter exactly nothing into them?

grizzled saffron
#

Nothing

steep girder
#

Because that's important. If it was a trojan and you didn't give away password, it could have been keylogged or snooped from browser saved logins

#

In that case, make sure you're using different computer or fresh install. Honestly, I hate to say it but as unlikely some personal targeted attacks with keyloggers are, a GTA mod menu is exactly where I'd expect to find them kekw

grizzled saffron
#

I mean it logged into my ebay but i didnt log into ebay on my pc so idk how he did it

steep girder
#

E-mail maybe

grizzled saffron
#

I bought a new pc like 3 weeks ago

lucid echo
steep girder
#

Reset password. Did the password change on ebay? Wherever somebody else logged in and the password is different, most likely they got access through your e-mail. They were forced to reset password for linked accounts because they only knew login to that e-mail

#

Otherwise, they probably wouldn't reset your password if they had IQ anywhere above that of a tuna sandwich

grizzled saffron
#

I changed passwords on everything and the passwords are like the names of elon musk kids

fluid ridge
#

if you had an antivirus and listened to it, that probably would not have happened

#

people who say common sense is the best antivirus are right until it's not

grizzled saffron
#

I mean i change all my passwords every 3 months and if i dont use a service i delete the account

fluid ridge
#

there's no point in changing your passwords, use a password manager and a really strong auto generated password

grizzled saffron
#

Its just annoying to get the emails that this guy keeps trying to log in but is to dumb to get the right password

fluid ridge
#

i can almost bet your problem does not come from being brute forced/password guessed

#

you're either key logged, token logged, or whatever logged somehow

#

which changing your password will do nothing in that case

grizzled saffron
#

I mean this is a bot prolly cause it tries 24/7 to access

fluid ridge
#

just get a good antivirus

steep girder
grizzled saffron
steep girder
#

Ohh. And it changes? It could easily be bots.

#

In fact, it's more likely that those are bots. You're not exactly being targeted as an individual victim by some evil hacker out to get you lol

#

It's ok. As long as you secured everything incl reset methods and other auth factors, etc. Use strong passwords too. So like not names of Elon's kids but their names + 12345!@

#

Will accounts like twitter or stuff still work when you delete your email?

steep girder
#

Every single account you care about registered with that email, login and change the email to something else you're planning on keeping

grizzled saffron
#

I think i am gonna make a new email and put the new email to the accounts

split fulcrum
steep girder
#

They will work for some time, but you really shouldn't do that. If your 2nd factor is OTP to that e-mail, you can no longer log in. Most of the time, you won't be able to easily reset password if you forget it or somebody breaks in.

grizzled saffron
#

But like i mean if my twitter account is linked with my email and i delete the email account does the twitter account still work

steep girder
#

Also it seems malware as a whole shifted its focus and just how it appears/works

#

Back in the 2000s, kids who played games online knew more about windows PC than most adults who just used it to check news, e-mail or play like solitaire idk

Some years back, I encountered a woman who appeared to be a single mother going through chemotherapy and she had two kids in this I think it was a Ford Explorer. Explorers are known to roll over if the tire pressure is too low and you take a hard turn. The rear driver-side tire was halfway flat and she did not seem to notice it until I pointed it out. She was totally shocked that it was that way and immediately called someone to come to her house and deal with it when she got back from the store. Because you’re not just asking for a windows reinstall, you’re asking them to find every account you have and change all the passwords

You have to look in your local business listings to see which company you can hire to do the job you’re asking about

There is no use asking in here

lucid echo

This is an incredibly stupid thing to try and outsource

finite cloud
#

Here’s some security tips

Create a strong 12 character password

Use TFA

Use a password manager (optional)

polar fern
#

The company can find all of the accounts that you have linked to the email and then you can go through and reset the passwords once you know what you’re even looking for

split fulcrum
# lucid echo Oh, absolutely

The average high school graduate working at any tech support store should be up to the task he is looking for, which is changing passwords and removing malware aka reinstalling windows... So why not go there first bruh

grizzled saffron
#

I mean i am kinda slow at this stuff and i would waste hours of my time of work wich would cost me more than another guy doing it i got some tips from yall now imma research for a company near me and ask em tl do it

finite cloud
#

Do that for as many accounts as possible and the likelihood of being hacked are reduced

polar fern
#

All of my passwords have been at least 20 characters for the last 10 years. I cringe at any site or service that limits this to 8 or 12 characters.

split fulcrum
#

Thankfully I'm not paying for it so

polar fern
#

If you were just trying to find accounts linked to an email again, all you have to do is higher the company that I mentioned before and use their search function.

#

I have many orphaned accounts out there using currently active email addresses that I definitely would like to close out or at least update the password/account info. However, I do not know if I am able to afford or have payment method acceptable for the company I can’t remember the name of.

Again, I am not sure what your issue is at this point, so I’m not going to give any advice on the issue

lucid echo
polar fern
#

In the future, when you’re trying to find help with something, it is important to find out what you’re really trying to accomplish and then communicate that effectively to people who might be able to help. Wikipedia and Google and about a dozen other resources online have all types of information, including terminology and different methods of doing things and so on. In short, it’s important to do your homework on the situation before you’re asking other people to do something for you.

lucid echo
polar fern
#

Mm..

#

Well, I hope you get it sorted because that type of stuff is very unnerving and anxiety producing

grizzled saffron
lucid echo
#

If someone is still logging into accounts then clearly you haven’t changed all your passwords & disabled active logins

polar fern
#

That sounds almost like they have access to your mobile device and getting the confirmation codes and stuff that way

grizzled saffron
#

Bro i put a 20 digit generated password everywhere

polar fern
#

yes sure bit if they get your password reset code, they can then go in and use that to change it back to something else

#

It sounds like they may have set up a separate email address to collect the password reset codes or something along those lines

grizzled saffron
#

Yea so best option and cheapest one is to hire a guy

polar fern
#

My suggestion is to create a brand-new email address and tie in all the other emails to that one and log out and end the active sessions

#

Also clear your browser cache on your mobile device and on your computer - all browsers

#

Don’t create a new email address until you have cleared all of the browser data off your devices

#

I would also suggest using an email account not one related to email services you have used before

halcyon lagoon
#

Also try and make it on a private mail server and have it only be a web based mailbox

polar fern
#

If this does not work, it means that someone is actively using your identity to do malicious things, and there’s not much you can do about it

grizzled saffron
#

Thanks for the tips but i already tried everything yall and the internet said and nothing worked so imma get it fixed by a company

polar fern
#

you have tried creating a brand-new unrelated email account?

grizzled saffron

Go get some work done or do something else dont worry imma get it fixed buy a dude soon

Also the kernel itself is usually packed with drivers to the point where 'kernel' means kernel + all drivers per device. The drivers and kernel is often not open source'd for certain portions of it.

Commodore 64 was a 'PC'. I mean the keyboard was on the thing itself and it plugged into coax cable NTSC or PAL I think. The version I had was NTSC for sure. Commodore Amiga looked more or less like a PC today and I think at least some models actually modulated both TV modes and that RGB one you had through VGA cable.

It was a PC because now you could plug it into a TV at least which was readily available in the average household

Yes, "Macs" and "Macintosh" refer to the same family of personal computers developed and marketed by Apple Inc. "Macintosh" was the original name given to the personal computer line when it was first introduced by Apple in 1984, and "Mac" is the shortened form that has become more commonly used over time. Both terms are used interchangeably to refer to Apple's line of desktop and laptop computers that run on macOS operating system.

Yes, macOS was originally known as "Macintosh System Software" when it was first introduced by Apple in 1984. It was later renamed to "Mac OS" in 1997, and then to "OS X" in 2001. In 2016, the name was changed to "macOS" to align it with the naming convention of Apple's other operating systems, such as iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

So while the name has changed over time, macOS has always been the operating system used on Macintosh computers. The term "System Software" was used to refer to the operating system and other essential software components that controlled the Macintosh hardware and enabled users to interact with it.
