Everything is already secured but they keep loggin into my discord
No thanks
I'm pretty hyped that they made a list of the camping products that were featured in final fantasy 15 and kinda want them
https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXV/comments/5mgo9a/coleman_camp_set/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb
Srry
When's the last time you reinstalled windows
And bro this dude is trying to log into my microsoft every like 90 mins
Wrong server
I reinstalled it like 3 times i even switched to 11
Whenever you're changing password I hope you're also changing all recovery methods. So other e-mails, security questions, etc. Do you even have some idea as to how you got all of those accounts stolen?!
Hire a hitman
If between those accounts it's two e-mails, idk honestly. Did they have like the same exact password on both?
Gta mod menu prolly
Maybe if you entered your passwords and email into it
I mean i downloaded a bunch of mod menus and got a trojan but i secured everything but 3 years and hes still trying
But can you tell if it most likely was exactly all of the creds you entered into mod menu? So it asked for password and email? Or did you enter exactly nothing into them?
Nothing
Because that's important. If it was a trojan and you didn't give away password, it could have been keylogged or snooped from browser saved logins
In that case, make sure you're using different computer or fresh install. Honestly, I hate to say it but as unlikely some personal targeted attacks with keyloggers are, a GTA mod menu is exactly where I'd expect to find them
I mean it logged into my ebay but i didnt log into ebay on my pc so idk how he did it
E-mail maybe
I bought a new pc like 3 weeks ago
You should install a password manager on that. Change every possible password for every account you can think of
It's annoying now but it could be financially devastating in the future
Reset password. Did the password change on ebay? Wherever somebody else logged in and the password is different, most likely they got access through your e-mail. They were forced to reset password for linked accounts because they only knew login to that e-mail
Otherwise, they probably wouldn't reset your password if they had IQ anywhere above that of a tuna sandwich
I changed passwords on everything and the passwords are like the names of elon musk kids
if you had an antivirus and listened to it, that probably would not have happened
people who say common sense is the best antivirus are right until it's not
I mean i change all my passwords every 3 months and if i dont use a service i delete the account
there's no point in changing your passwords, use a password manager and a really strong auto generated password
Its just annoying to get the emails that this guy keeps trying to log in but is to dumb to get the right password
i can almost bet your problem does not come from being brute forced/password guessed
you're either key logged, token logged, or whatever logged somehow
which changing your password will do nothing in that case
I mean this is a bot prolly cause it tries 24/7 to access
just get a good antivirus
Wait so you secured everything? If you're getting e-mails notifying of failed login attempts, they typically have some additional information like their IP and location (also from IP)
Its always diff location like afghanistan or china
Ohh. And it changes? It could easily be bots.
In fact, it's more likely that those are bots. You're not exactly being targeted as an individual victim by some evil hacker out to get you lol
It's ok. As long as you secured everything incl reset methods and other auth factors, etc. Use strong passwords too. So like not names of Elon's kids but their names + 12345!@
200.87.92.252 14.189.93.76 186.106.156.177 always a diff ip
Theese just a bunch of the many ones
It was just a joke cause his kid is called like a password
Lmfao he would
True it guy named his kids alphanumeric with at least one symbol and uppercase lol
Give id thieves a hard time (and the DMV)
He downloaded a bunch of sketchy GTA mod menus
The common sense firewall failed him then
Will accounts like twitter or stuff still work when you delete your email?
Every single account you care about registered with that email, login and change the email to something else you're planning on keeping
I think i am gonna make a new email and put the new email to the accounts
Common sense only works for the people who are actually experienced computer enthusiasts or work in the field. Although I personally haven't used an antivirus/antimalware in years while still downloading stuff and committing privateering, it doesn't mean you shouldn't.
They will work for some time, but you really shouldn't do that. If your 2nd factor is OTP to that e-mail, you can no longer log in. Most of the time, you won't be able to easily reset password if you forget it or somebody breaks in.
But like i mean if my twitter account is linked with my email and i delete the email account does the twitter account still work
Sadly it's still the case. A big part of people gaining enough additional expertise as end users is an illusion. Nobody gets antivirus these days because 'defender got it'
Also it seems malware as a whole shifted its focus and just how it appears/works
Back in the 2000s, kids who played games online knew more about windows PC than most adults who just used it to check news, e-mail or play like solitaire idk
Viruses are very crude ways to do stuff. Nowadays it’s all about the confidence trick.
But i mean why does this dude continue trying to log in after 3 unsuccessful years where he didnt earn 1 cent from me
We get it, you're a genius mastermind
I'd see 90% family computers in the kitchen with like 999 ie toolbars, popups, etc. Sometimes even actual viruses from the looks of it. I personally just knew not to insert any storage into that computer if it was going to be used somewhere on another machine
That's not what I meant
Some folks do risky stuff that the general population shouldn’t is what they meant.
Is there a way to see all the accounts u made with an email so u can delete the accounts u dont need?
If you can search your inbox like in gmail, just search for "registration" "confirmation" "verify" "verification" etc
"registered" is a good one
They can automatically find accounts with your email etc & request deletion or some such
I don't know why, perhaps nowadays kids use phones and more simplistic interfaces that are carefully curated in terms of content, but it seems like more and more kids don't know how to use computers that well (I've seen this happen in schools recently)
Oh yeah I remember that
??? They shouldn't...
lol
You mean like when I swig pickle juice from the jar?
Not for every single one at least just by e-mail
Transit is talking about a service you can pay for that was in an LTT video
It’s a service where they go in and trim all of the old accounts so you don’t use anymore registered to an email address or phone number
This is also an important part of the equation
I have actually been thinking about using this because there are definitely dozens of services. I have signed up for over the years and I really don’t like my email hanging out there
Are there like ppl who u can hire that make ur whole system secure again?
What they called
Yes but mostly for companies. I don't think you need one though
Cybersecurity experts?
Problem is in my opinion that virtually the entirety of PC end users have moved to digital for crucial things like banking, communication, etc yet they don't have nearly enough knowledge or expertise
Yes but odds are you can’t afford them
depending on the party you are enquiring, some of them actually have tools that can flush stuff out of components as well as software on mass storage
Case and point: up to just a few years ago I kept seeing everyone around me getting their FB account pwned and stolen because they clicked on a link in FB messenger from a bot who sends a really believable message
"Dude! Is that you in the video?! OMG!"
Then it stole their accounts. That's how it spread lol
@steep girder yup, I call that the “get in and drive” syndrome”
I mean i make my money online and my data is getting very important i was like 14 and was playing gta and downloaded that menu
that's....not the same thing
I can afford them easily if the dont cost like 30k or sum
But the key thing is how it only happened because their FB app was insanely out of date most of the time
so much of "hacking" is just social engineering
How much does 1 of theese guys cost?
"more than you can afford pal"
Some people who drive automobiles simply get in the car and go where they are going to & never check the tires they never check the oil & they never look to see if there is damage or any safety issues with the vehicle before departing to their destination.
Where can you hire them so they arent scammers?
Yeah, they actually did an experiment once where I live and attacked a cybersecurity company. 99% of it was social engineering and 1% was actually executing the code after physically penetrating security by social engineering
it's just a tool to a lot of people
Too many people are like this with their computers and mobile devices today.
Sure, but that doesn’t excuse irresponsibility
I think i can so how much
If you’re going to operate a vehicle, you need to take responsibility for it before it enters the public right of way
Yeah I legit got called by a friend to change his tire one time
Joke failed to land
Mhm
Had a wrench, spare, jack everything. And even the manual with instructions lmfao
Sorry, I’m interested in humour at the moment
Humour costs less than humor
Cause i make money online and if i get screwed by some of theese indian dudes im fucked so do u know where u can hire theese type of ppl?
At least for the time being lol
Yeah, I mean, I know not everyone is going to be some enthusiast about every piece of electronics or hardware or tool or what have you that they own, but you should at least know what to look for insofar as safety.
So anyone know where u can hire the cyber security ppl no matter the price?
Idk freelance websites? https://www.upwork.com/hire/internet-security-freelancers/
Bro why is a grandpa a specialist wth
Some years back, I encountered a woman who appeared to be a single mother going through chemotherapy and she had two kids in this I think it was a Ford Explorer. Explorers are known to roll over if the tire pressure is too low and you take a hard turn. The rear driver-side tire was halfway flat and she did not seem to notice it until I pointed it out. She was totally shocked that it was that way and immediately called someone to come to her house and deal with it when she got back from the store. People really do get Tunnel vision with day-to-day life and forget that you have to be mindful about these things
How many people work at your company? Usually they charge per-employee
he wants to hire one for himself smh
I dont got employees i work alone so i have less expenses
Yeah that was the joke
I mean check out Facebook local stuff & groups. Find out what is available in your area.
Well it takes time to "gain expertise" aka to get the connections you need to succeed and know certain things about your field
Don't underestimate the gramps. They can write you a fortran program on cardboard using holepuncher
Or you could, you know, change all your passwords using a password manager. Because that’s all they’re gonna do if you hire someone
If you don't have monitor, just make stdout go through print spooler.
I'm too tired for humour, can't humour my humour of humour
Is there no company who u can pay then they clean up your system its not worth my hours if i can pay a dude to do this
My girlfriend’s stepdad (not a fan of the guy myself) knows how to repair basically everything from a dishwasher to a tube or flat screen TV microwave oven all of that stuff, but you would never know it looking at him and he is in his 70s.
Humor me
I would still waste my time i rather spend my money
In what way shall I humour your humor
@grizzled saffron we arent going to search for a company for you. You have to do that. Look for local listings in the business directories
He can always pay for someone to do it if he has the cash 🤑
hi
You’d have to pay someone to show up locally. Depending on where you live that may be next to impossible. Likely would be thousands of dollars if they charge hourly.
Oh yeah, sure, but they’re gonna have to do the searching on their own
Im not asking u to search aint this a tech specialist server or something like that so wondered if someone knows a comapny or works in one
Because you’re not just asking for a windows reinstall, you’re asking them to find every account you have and change all the passwords
You have to look in your local business listings to see which company you can hire to do the job you’re asking about
There is no use asking in here
I'd suggest to do it yourself if I were you just for sake of safety, cost and the hassle of finding a PERSONAL cybersecurity expert...
Hello!
Oh, absolutely
If you’re looking to change passwords etc there is the one company that LTT has as a sponsor as I mentioned before
This is an incredibly stupid thing to try and outsource
Here’s some security tips
Create a strong 12 character password
Use TFA
Use a password manager (optional)
The company can find all of the accounts that you have linked to the email and then you can go through and reset the passwords once you know what you’re even looking for
The average high school graduate working at any tech support store should be up to the task he is looking for, which is changing passwords and removing malware aka reinstalling windows... So why not go there first bruh
I mean i am kinda slow at this stuff and i would waste hours of my time of work wich would cost me more than another guy doing it i got some tips from yall now imma research for a company near me and ask em tl do it
Do that for as many accounts as possible and the likelihood of being hacked are reduced
All of my passwords have been at least 20 characters for the last 10 years. I cringe at any site or service that limits this to 8 or 12 characters.
Good luck you sweet summer child
Thankfully I'm not paying for it so
If you were just trying to find accounts linked to an email again, all you have to do is higher the company that I mentioned before and use their search function.
I have many orphaned accounts out there using currently active email addresses that I definitely would like to close out or at least update the password/account info. However, I do not know if I am able to afford or have payment method acceptable for the company I can’t remember the name of.
I mean idc if i spend money anymore i sent an email to a company called konverto now they will respond tomorrow cause its 2 am
I am actually confused as to what your issue even is at this point
I thought you had some sort of software on your computer that was causing you a concern
Look at Kali Linux for a lot of in house security stuff.
shut up talking to me
I wanted a quick fix but its not so quick so imma make it get done by another guy
Again, I am not sure what your issue is at this point, so I’m not going to give any advice on the issue
Various accounts of his keep getting compromised, three years after downloading some sketchy software. He’s already reinstalled windows a few times and bought a new computer recently.
Solution is to change ALL of his passwords, but he wants someone else to do it because lazy.
In the future, when you’re trying to find help with something, it is important to find out what you’re really trying to accomplish and then communicate that effectively to people who might be able to help. Wikipedia and Google and about a dozen other resources online have all types of information, including terminology and different methods of doing things and so on. In short, it’s important to do your homework on the situation before you’re asking other people to do something for you.
He conveyed it clearly earlier on, but this has snowballed and several people joined in the convo much later on
Which is EXACTLY why I told him to make a #1027757333117415424 post instead
Mm..
Well, I hope you get it sorted because that type of stuff is very unnerving and anxiety producing
I alr changed them and the problem is still there and im not gonna waste more time and i researched and this chat has the same tips as the internet so not many options
If someone is still logging into accounts then clearly you haven’t changed all your passwords & disabled active logins
That sounds almost like they have access to your mobile device and getting the confirmation codes and stuff that way
Bro i put a 20 digit generated password everywhere
yes sure bit if they get your password reset code, they can then go in and use that to change it back to something else
It sounds like they may have set up a separate email address to collect the password reset codes or something along those lines
Yea so best option and cheapest one is to hire a guy
My suggestion is to create a brand-new email address and tie in all the other emails to that one and log out and end the active sessions
Also clear your browser cache on your mobile device and on your computer - all browsers
Don’t create a new email address until you have cleared all of the browser data off your devices
I would also suggest using an email account not one related to email services you have used before
Also try and make it on a private mail server and have it only be a web based mailbox
If this does not work, it means that someone is actively using your identity to do malicious things, and there’s not much you can do about it
Thanks for the tips but i already tried everything yall and the internet said and nothing worked so imma get it fixed by a company
you have tried creating a brand-new unrelated email account?
Go get some work done or do something else dont worry imma get it fixed buy a dude soon
Okay, I need to eat I’m really sorry you’re struggling with this but I’m sure you will sort it out eventually
Good co op $20 steam games ?
Rust goes on sale pretty often for $20 ish but its closer to $30 usually. 7 days to die The Forest and Payday 2 are a few other co op games I have that are pretty fun
The forest original goes on sale basically every major sale (christmas summer etc) and id assume sons of the forest will too. There's also key sites if you're alright with more gray market stuff
Yeah I just bought a stacked gta v acc for 3 dollars
Garry's mod is kiinda co op but i dunno if you'd count it and you can get that under 10. And yeah if youre aight with key sites check them maybe
The 25 is in steam it was a gift card
ohh yea that's rough. You could pick up the forest payday 2 and maybe gmod for that and have a few (im in the uk so i dunno about prices in other countries)
yeah i think they're similar
id really recommend looking at 7 days to die it's a zombie survival game that I've put a lot of hours into and it's pretty fun. Plus it has co op with servers and just your own world iirc
and payday is payday it's solid
Look into it ty
oh yeah and Phasmophobia is fun I forgot about that one
ghost hunting game you're meant to play as a group of 4
The forest is fun I got in on ps4 spent a few hundred hours w a friend
yeah I've put a couple hundred in
But I'm like the only one with a pc everyone ik has a xbox or ps4 sucks
Why the race baiting bruh
https://youtu.be/J4b4QoXEhtA
Also, smfh
imagine protecting Nvidia when the "Worse card" aged better
Nvidia really showing who they are, 8GB on the 3070 aged poorly.
me over here with an 8gb 1070Ti
it's aged just fine imo
(i meant my card with the aging fine btw)
sure. because its a 10 series card. you wont be playing any high/ultra settings anyway
I keep my expectations where they should be for a 6-7 year old card
but the 6800 having 16GB makes the 3070 a much worse deal
AMD makes everyone look like a worse deal
well. because they are.
I can't think of a reason to buy an intel cpu unless you want to pay more for worse performance and no upgrade path
why? its gonna be overpriced as shit
Brand Recognition is the only thing that really sells Intel
same with PlayStation.
barely no performance jump for triple the price
same with nvidia. I'm convinced new builders hear "RTX" and are like woah raytracing I'll totally use this!!! then realise like 5 of the games they play actually have it and don't turn it on because the performance drop isnt worth it
then get a Radeon.
they are convinced that Radeons RT is unusable when its perfectly usable.
Can't wait for the 6090 fr
you'll need to be in a Nuclear Reactor to power the thing
1200w titanium psu is prob the minimum
FSR 2.0 from what I've seen is good enough for literally anyone and it isn't locked to one generation of gpu
unlike DLSS
1200 is generous

true
6400 is more like it.
nvidia's rt cores are better than amd's (for now)
Why? buy a 6000 now and upgrade in another 10 years
recommended psu
Nvidia locks DLSS generations to generations to make the new cards look worth buying. Nvidia's biggest problem is they'll release a 3090 with DLSS 2.0 for $1500, then a year later release a 4070 for $600 with DLSS 3.0 that performs better. Why would you buy a 3090 when you can wait a year and save a whole PC worth of budget
😔
yes, but thats not the point.
because AMD understand RT is still the far off future and rasterization is still really important
ok
until hardware is powerful enough that RT doesn't cut your frames in half it'll never get into every niche. Anyone who plays an fps, racing game, anything that needs frames is gonna use it so it won't be big
Radeon will go cheaper and give you reason to buy unlike Nvidia
the rx 470 is prob ur best bet for 50$ gaming
AMD make affordable cards instead of the best performing cards so lots of people actually buy them
Nvidia banks off people still assuming AMD drivers are dog and they can't raytrace
the 10% of marketshare they have says otherwise.
because people buy the affordable nvidia cards
but generally ppl would buy Radeon if they bothered to have a look at the facts
notice how the 1060 and 1650 are the 2 most popular cards
no. its the 3060 and 2060 now
is more because theyre a generation behind
yea just checked my mistake
they're still nvidia's lowest end though
3050?
*lower end
1630?
1650 and 3050
not super popular anymore
lower end RTX cards then
who the fuck is buying that piece of shit?
it came late + very trash
Calm tf down
Dell OEM PCs
Drama bum
it existed when it shouldnt?
cheap OEM pcs otw to be the most expensive pc with a shit gpu
Shit coolers too
actual shit is more useful than the 1630
is 1630 even better than intel integrated
still. its not a Mac.
Not anymore
anything beats intel iGPUs
you'd be surprised
aktchewally intel iwis xe 🤓
iris xe is just 1050ti perf at max
Still better than 1630
my 12 inch i5 surface laptop can play cod mw2 2009 at 30fps minimum settings
no i wont be. i know what i'm talking about. RDNA 3 hasnt beat the 1650 yet. the 1630 is probably just being beat by the 780M
pure intel power
What generation though
Intel still one of the largest gpu manufacturers in the world
I have a sp4 with 6th gen intel and the graphics performance was pretty horrible, couldn't even run Minecraft bedrock well
10th
14nm
10th gen is def 14nm.
idk intel is telling me right here that it's 10
it's quite interesting how AMD iGPUs on laptop chips now beat laptop 1650
10th gen had low power 10nm 🤓
Both
and it is 10th gen low power it's a 1035g1
Depends on the chip
Get your facts straight and stop being so aggressive bruh
Yee they were just breaking through the barrier
which gen did intel 7 got used??
4 cores 8 threads 13-25w in a 12 inch chassis
Intel 7 isn’t available yet
oh
Well, intel 7nm
it's a core i5 1035g1 in a 12.4 inch surface laptop go it's a tiny cpu for a tiny laptop
14nm++++++++++++++++++++
Intel 7 is on alder lake but it's just 10nm

ok but 10th gen is still banging on as 14nm.
I hate their naming scheme
Intel always out to try make ppl confused and make them buy garbage.
That's what they call it lmao
Fake news
should have been specific about whether you mean laptop chips or desktop as they're quite different
yes, and everything else is 14nm
I specified the exact model I said 1035g1
I also specified in a laptop and the exact laptop lol
to quote half the server "Laptops are shit they dont matter"
You live in a bubble
I bring my i9 13900ks E-ATX pc into starbucks
majority of the server live in a bubble
bro trying to destroy a poor starbuck's circuit
I leech off their power to get back at the establishment
(I haven't paid my rent in months)
oh ye starbucks has free wifi
Just get a base m2 mac. Nothing compares to it. All I do is write code on the train and take notes and write more code at school so this thing is perfect. I have a Linux desktop at home.
lmao no
mac is for people who can tolerate macos
I torrent games on starbucks wifi while mining crypto in the back
MacOS is intolerable garbage.
I got it for the battery life and because who the fuck games on a laptop
mac is borderline scam ngl
OS wars are such a dramatic thing still
Some people go feral
Your opinions are way to harsh. You need to calm down lol
Can't wait for MacOS 14 to be the iOS 16 of MacOS and it turn to shit
and it's an arm chip so it's just a glorified phone without a screen
I bought an iphone at the wrong time ngl
That’s not how it works lmao
someone cant handle truth
Mobile just adopted ARM, it’s been around for decades
Windows arm sucks
ARM started on desktop
i'm suprised Apple never tried calling it the "PC 2"
Software problem
no because they called the ipad that
I still have trauma from them what's a computer ads
I tried linux arm and it was fine.
Not comparable in battery life to apple silicon
nah they called it Mac 2 because they cant begin to touch a PC.
because linux are like a neglected child and they've found their own way to emulate everything
…… what do you think Android is
And ios
And macos
apple fans when they realise their mac is a PC because it literally just means personal computer
To call modern android Linux is a literal insult
What’s a computer?
do you want me to self harm
Macos is Unix based not linux based they are related but barley
I wouldn't be surprised if there were more devices running linux than windows and macos combined
the amount of youtube ads they're still burned into my head
Ah yes, constantly getting updated by hundreds and hundreds of people = neglected
I want you to commit self care
what's a personal??
I was joking about how they don't get a lot of mainstream apps and stuff like Wine exists
More like thousands plus the largest companies in the world
Linux is the server space lol
its not. PC is a platform. you cant run a PC Game on a PPC Mac or a Macintosh.
There's basically nothing but Linux in the server space
Windows Server
Every steam deck user is a linux user
So millions use linux
Less than 0.1% market share
still
30 million ppl use linux
+over 100B devices
every android user is a linux user
more than the population of Australia
true
True
Desktop. not mobile
Every server is a Linux client
everything is Linux
steam deck being desktop rather than mobile is a very questionable statement as well
ChromeOS is linux too so many more use linux
who the hell wants ChromeOS
Schools
no one wants it but they don't have a choice
now that's a glorified phone
The server space is far, far more important than the desktop space
sadly millions of children are involuntarily subjected to the horrors of chromeos
calling chromeOS a phone is an insult to phones
true
Calling chromos an os in a literal insult. TempleOS beats it
schools casually having computers shittier than my grandma's 20 yr old pentium pc
TempleOS is based as hell
TempleOS users being the most chad being
Just use Ubuntu for school computers like Zimbabwe
nah they could be using Kubuntu.
Just switched to Pop!OS from Windows 11 … didn’t realise I’d like it so much!
Ubuntu is the most supported
you'd like Kubuntu better. its just like windows without the shit
the problem with Linux is that it has too much versions
Kbuntu is just kde
it leaves new pc users confused
yes, And KDE is absolutely better than GNOME
Oh I see how it is. Just because they're in African country they have to use OS that's named after Ubuntu tribe. Racist (jk)
Linux is a kernel. People combine that with gnu and many other packages to create a distro
Wasn’t looking for something “like Windows” though. Was keen to get right out of the comfort zone for desktop.
Using Debian and Ubuntu for my home lab needs, but first time using a GUI and for desktop.
oh ye a distro that's what it called
Btw in less prosperous countries that's actually what they use a lot of times. It's funny cause it's true. The idea of free open source lol
I forgot
Gnome is literally better than macos's ui
You can literally make your own distro if you wanted
KDE in general is still a much better desktop. if you really wanna make it a MacOS Clone. absolutely can
Just focus on the big ones in the beginning
Imagine being barely able to afford computers for your school. Internet connection you had to install satellite dish yourself.
Time to buy enterprise volume license from Microsoft
I barely have any skill in coding
dont need it
arent there millions of linux users even without deck
billions
Then don't. Use something like Ubuntu or Manjaro. No coding required.
There's over 100 billion machines using Linux
you sort of need it. to "make your own distro" you basically need to compile stuff from source. from personal experience I can say that if you try to combine random versions of packages compiled from source, you're gonna have errors you need to debug that you won't be able to understand and fix without programming knowledge
Tbh it's not even a fact that actual genuinely licensed windows is distributed in certain places. So you can't even use windows legally lol
"BuT MaNjArO BaD!!!!1!!!1!11111!"
Because servers
it depends on the definition of PC, many people use it to just mean "home computer". And even in the stricter definition, wouldn't the Intel Macs still count as a PC?
which distro is best as a second boot with windows
any? how does that matter at all?
anything with KDE
If I removed my gpu without removing the cables is that okay 🫥
yeah i was thinking of personal users, not servers
I've elevated myself to a god using gentoo and have realised that all distros are equal
That's how Russia even in 2000s I remember worked. AAA games would often times not even be distributed in that region. So basically even the biggest retailers you had like Fargus and crap would be pirated
or mint
Android uses Linux so that's billions
You literally bought CD with pirated game and key. Sometimes it was pre-cracked lmao
uh ok I'll just search the web
ig if u count that
yes. but that still doesn't mean Macs are PCs.
Calling Macs PC's is an insult because of how locked down they are
out of the 4 types of Mac, 1 is able to be considered a PC.
if we're going by mega convoluted logic then aren't macs linux because they're unix based and linux is also unix therefore because they come from the same thing they're the same
powerPC ftw
no. they are *nix. linux is linux.
Android's OS portion is technically the Linux itself. It's a fork of Linux to some extent... with a lot of changes

and again. Linux was built for x86 and later ported to other Architectures.
it's funny how people are talking about "unix based" as though they think it means they used that codebase and built upon it. "unix based" usually just means it follows some unix standards, not that even a single line of actual code from unix was ever used in it
if anything MacOS is a BSD
MacOS is Vtech OS
Also the kernel itself is usually packed with drivers to the point where 'kernel' means kernel + all drivers per device. The drivers and kernel is often not open source'd for certain portions of it.
Literally the opposite idea of Linux. Vendors close source the only drivers that work on device lol
thats why Nvidia can go get fricked.
MacOS actually started out with BSD codebase, while linux was written from scratch
we cant have nice things with Nvidia around can we
Like xiaomi. They release source some time after kernel. But some of their drivers may not get sources release ever...
imagine that ROG GPU thing with a desktop GPU
but no the box with the cooling capacity of a desktop heatsink has to have the mobile gpu because it can move
you mean an EGPU?
I forgot what it's called but the weird one that plugs into stuff. it was in the ROG Ally LTT video
eGPU
yea basically
Macs have been and still are PC's. I felt the opposite way when their marketing began referring to non-mac PC's as just PC's as opposed to theirs.
they never have been until they switched to Intel
then they switched away to ARM
people often refer to "PC" as an ambigous collection of various standards that fit together like lego - ATX, DDR, PCIe, etc
a PC has to be compatible with the IBM PC 5150. which if its x86 it can run DOS and run the originals software.
so anything RISC isn't a PC?
by definition it is not.
RISC isn't an architecture in the same specific sense as intel or PPC
Sorry x86 not intel
that's what I mean. It's such a general thing that is everything that falls under that not a PC?
What does “busting” error mean on windows 10?
PC is a fairly ambiguous term where the meaning depends a lot on the context. trying to argue over what it means standalone is fairly pointless
people used the term PC wrong because it was such a popular platform it became the "New name" for computers.
Anyone could build a PC Clone. and it took off from there
I think it’s Darwin OS actually
The best Os is Koix OS
What's the difference between an intel mac and an intel windows laptop other than what it runs?
those, they count, but that doesnt make the entirety of mac a PC.
so if I only ever use boot camp is my mac a pc
But in general they are an insult to PCs
Well it stands for personal computer. It's a computer that is portable enough to at least have in house and can be used by an average regular consumer in some sense. They called machines PCs for a while now for that same reason. Before PCs, computers were typically large and used only by large corps n sht
i mean its a PC regardless of running MacOS or not. but not Arm, not PPC, not 68K.
Hello
so PC isn't defined by what it runs, but it has to be x86?
and intel macs are just kid PC's basically
yes.
I can get behind that yeah
the literal words that compose an acronym do not entirely define the meaning of that acronym. they often refer to something more specific. by your logic an "operating system" is any system that operates, which could refer to literally anything, digital, mechanical or even social
thats the logic behind my statements. a PC is an x86 Computer capable of running all PC Software.
yeah I misunderstood you it makes sense now
Commodore 64 was a 'PC'. I mean the keyboard was on the thing itself and it plugged into coax cable NTSC or PAL I think. The version I had was NTSC for sure. Commodore Amiga looked more or less like a PC today and I think at least some models actually modulated both TV modes and that RGB one you had through VGA cable.
It was a PC because now you could plug it into a TV at least which was readily available in the average household
I feel like macs aren't PC's but textbook definition PC's. They're personal computers but they're closer to phones than they are an X86 PC by architecture
As opposed to like mainframe that takes up room with terminals lmao
they arent pcs. the Amiga is running 68K and the 64 is on a 6510.
Phones are technically the same PCs in the classical sense. Just that they're also handheld ('portable' or 'mobile')
this means that an Amiga can run early MacOS.
By the time mobile was reserved for phones generally, they also threw around the term 'pocket PC'. Pocket means the same thing but they phrased it differently because for some reason mobile implies cellular comm device
yet a Macintosh cannot run Workbench. because the Amiga was a more powerful system by the fact they literally had their own chipset
and it was way cheaper too.
Tbh by these minimal standards even a calculator is a PC. Idk. PC just means what it means. Nowadays, it's a non-laptop machine that isn't apple. Consoles don't count because idk... gaming is consoles lol
Apple always sold garbage at a premium
What?
By 90s standards, everybody is selling garbage at a premium. It's literally by design not working 100% lol.
.
Apple Silicon is a insanely good value. Good battery life and speedy SOC
this was the mid 80s.
we are talking Macintosh. not Mac
A Mac is a Macintosh
50% done
no., like the og Macintosh
Ah...
Well irl it's just hard to meet demand of billions 7nm transistors produced en masse to every household. Also physics itself begins to emphasize probabilities lol
a Macintosh is not a Mac. its a Macintosh
Honestly, no digital electronics worked truly 100% of the time ever
Mac is literally short for Macintosh
they didn't use the Mac name until the. iMac or was it a Powermac?
Even your light switch has a chance of letting through current when it's disconnected mechanically. The odds are too small to have any likelihood of ever happening since the big bang but still...
no they called it a PowerMacintosh
Not since the early 90s
in terms of inspiration, maybe. but Apple uses very specific trademarks in specific places, so if you want to be accurate, only devices that apple defined as macintosh were macintosh. they stopped using that word altogether at some point
the name was changed officially years ago
Yeah but it's just that back in the day Mac or Macintosh didn't imply that it's not windows. Tbh wtf does windows have to do with PC as well. That's the OS lmao.
All the MacBooks I've gotten in all had the SSD named "Macintosh HD"
Macintosh (1977-1999), will that get you to stop being pedantic?
remnants can still be there.
guys giveawaying 4090 ti (no jokes)
nobody's going to the apple store to get their Macintosh Book Air
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT208496 the name Macintosh is still being used in apple documentation
How to erase (format) the built-in startup disk of an Intel-based Mac.
Windows is just the OS Many used.
we're talking about products? find me a Mac called Macintosh
MAC short for Macintosh
mac is just macintosh
what is a good bitrate for 1440p?
show me some apple documentation that uses the full word macintosh and isn't from like 2000 or something
Mac is a different line of products
But they don't call their computers Macintosh anymore. Like Apple doesn't actively refer to their products as a Macintosh anywhere. They just shortened the name
Mac is an abbreviation for Macintosh, and used to describe the line of Apple computing products that includes the MacBook Pro, iMac Pro, MacBook Air and the iMac. -Google
neither do they call it an iMac.
it's not an abbreviation the name changed completely lol
I started off correcting someone for saying that a Macintosh is not a Mac. No need to be a dick
The iMac came out in 2021
Mac is not technically an abbreviation. from a legal perspective, it's a new name that superseded the old macintosh
the iMac is short for nothing
Imacintosh
The term used to be used like that, until it became shorter for simplicty
if it were an abbreviation, apple documentation would use the "full" word in some places, which it doesn't
I just mean the name is still being used unlike macintosh
no, why? the word "mac" had become so well known fot that that apple jus decided to use it to idenity it.
yes, as long as the 3060 isn't like more than $200 or 3060 ti isn't more than $300
it didn't "become" simpler. apple changed the names for their products. it wasn't somehow just people starting to refer to it differently
but the orginal name is macintosh
it's a completely different line of products
I remember iMacs they were already called. Pretty sure the distinction was the 'newer' ones which were entirely fitted into translucent tinted plastic bulky monitor. Our teacher referred to those as iMacs and the older white stacked ones as Macintoshes.
Apple literally names their fucking default Installation in 2023. Macintosh HD.
the predecessor for mac was macintosh, yes. but that doesn't mean mac = macintosh
mac and macintosh are the same thing with diff name
The Mac (known as Macintosh until 1999) is a family of personal computers designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The product lineup includes the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops, as well as the iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro desktops. Macs run the macOS operating system.
same line of products just a name change
yes, a name change. The name is different...
^
but its still the same line of products
The branding of the product. So the product name or the name of the line

im watching this vid rn
I mean Wikipedia isn't completely correct. literally in apple documentation from 2023 there is still mentions of Macintosh
nd im crying rn
I have the need to ask something here, can someone look in #linux and tell me if you believe that floodgate is a person? It feels like watching an ai type
what does nd mean
Yes, but it isn't called a Macintosh. It stopped being called that. We were talking about Macintosh not Mac, so we're talking about pre 1999 when they were called Macintosh
you said it wasnt the same line of products, which what was I argueing for atleast
link?
its the same thing so yes mac = macintosh, but macintosh is used to describe the older products because of the name change
The hard drive being called Macintosh HD doesn't count because your default disk name isn't a trademarked product name
same line of products just a diff name.
and the whole fucking argument was about Macintosh not Mac so pre name change...
I literally sent it earlier but here's a screenshot
You can trademark a changeable default hard drive name?
you will cry when you recieve a i3 and it doesnt perform liek an i9
I didn't know they put that on their website and on the side of the box and on the back of the product damn
Ok I’m not the only thinking it’s weird
Y’all really arguing about this?
Apple have been using SSD's since 2008 and it says HD so it's not a stretch that they just call it that cause why not
keeping me awake at 3am so why not
Hey, remember these?
I mean apple still instructs their techs to specifically type in the name "Macintosh HD" on reinstalls. It's kinda funny
macintosh is just old macos calm down
but yeah. Macintosh and Macs are from the same family.
Yes, "Macs" and "Macintosh" refer to the same family of personal computers developed and marketed by Apple Inc. "Macintosh" was the original name given to the personal computer line when it was first introduced by Apple in 1984, and "Mac" is the shortened form that has become more commonly used over time. Both terms are used interchangeably to refer to Apple's line of desktop and laptop computers that run on macOS operating system.
- Chat GPT
Having been an apple and Mac user/owner since the late 1980s, I can tell you right now, the name change was part of a rebranding effort to save Apple from bankruptcy. I think it worked.

same family as in a predecessor being in the same family as a successor, indeed
Checkout Norway. Woot woot
Wiki, Chat Gpt, and google are all wrong now bro.
considering it just said a macintosh runs on macos clearly it's wrong
what about System 1-7
this argument is brainrot goddamn
Mac OS the name was used back then also...
"Mac OS X"
MacOS didn't exist though? They ran on System?
what about 8 and 9
Yes, macOS was originally known as "Macintosh System Software" when it was first introduced by Apple in 1984. It was later renamed to "Mac OS" in 1997, and then to "OS X" in 2001. In 2016, the name was changed to "macOS" to align it with the naming convention of Apple's other operating systems, such as iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
So while the name has changed over time, macOS has always been the operating system used on Macintosh computers. The term "System Software" was used to refer to the operating system and other essential software components that controlled the Macintosh hardware and enabled users to interact with it.
well, first of all, "google" is not a source. "wiki" did not even say what you claim. and using chatgpt as a source is worse than using onion as a credible news source
source: trust me bro
and ur source is?
bro your source is a fucking AI lmao
Mac OS/OSX is Darwin unix. Macintosh operating systems were used before that & are unrelated architecturally
and urs is?
Yeah. I know. I'm just saying the name "macOS" is nothing new
the opinions of others in the chat?
and yours is?? ChatGPT isn't a source
🤓
The brand names and their product lines are often times completely irrelevant to the physical product.
just me over here being an actual Apple customer for over 30 years, but what do I know.
Your logic is not what the facts are showing. I literally showed you Macintosh the name was still used in apple documentation when you said earlier it wasn't.
Case and point: Samsung Galaxy S-whatever. S line? Galaxy S5 is a phone model? Nah. Every single one had usually two completely different platforms on the inside from mainboard to SOC
🤷♂️
I just got ChatGPT to say the macintosh 128k runs macos Ventura so it can't be very credible
Why would anyone use that garbage software
ChatGPT is pretty nice when I'm lazy.
It’s like a worse form of AutoCorrect
I provided u with 3 sources (1 which you can say is wrong) but what u provided me with is ur words give me a source.
google tells me I have cancer when my eye itches
The real line/model would be the SM-6969/TS. Pretty sure those 'model' names also have two distinct formats for exynos and the other one. Or it's just the international thing. Could be the international just happens to usually have the chipset US versions never use
Who the fuck cares if it has a Hard Drive or not. They still call it HD.
There was an option for an internal hard drive via expansion cards
ignoring me yet again, provide me a source like I did to you.
They still call it that on Macs with SSDs.
for what I don't even know what you're arguing anymore lmao
mac and macintosh are the same family
Okay, I’m starting to lose brain cells with a bunch of windows & Linux users arguing about Apple history
According to google the original Macintosh had a hard disk
Idk but a brand name is given to an SKU as one item retail-facing. It could have a 'product line' but only in the same sense
chat yellowstone is erupting take shelter immediately 🚨
I mean it ran off a floppy lol
you showed they still named the system drive "Macintosh HD". on windows the system drive is named "Local Disk" by default. this does not say anything about what the official name of their OS or devices are. that's like saying that just because there's a "system32" directory around on windows for legacy reasons means it's a 32-bit OS
Give me a source that says it's not. All I'm getting from you are words. I gave my sources. Where are yours.
Honestly they were always Apple PCs or just Apple computers. As in computers made by Apple the company.
They are the same family? they rebranded and we were talking pre rebrand
The first ones were called Apple LISA, Apple I, Apple II, etc
it's just funny at this point I don't get how people don't know the difference between a macintosh and a mac
I said they were the same family and some dudes started saying its not and you just randomly jumped in.
So the machine's model name you could just consider it I and II lol.
my brother in christ I've been here the whole time
I do, its just that their the same family. (they obv arent the same pc)
you have been here the whole time but missed my points. Ok man.
there weren't any to miss lol
you gave no sources where Apple refers to the modern versions of their OS or their devices as "macintosh". you just found one legacy use of the word used as a default name for a drive. according to that logic, my operating system is apparently named "Local Disk 10"
whats ur input
Would it be a better idea to drop 130$ on a 9400F and a H310 Motherboard or get a new ryzen 5 5500 for 110$ and drop it in my b450 mobo
buy a macbook
Ew
swear thats an m1 imac 24
trust me bro
Where's your sources? I literally showed on Apple's website the name is still being used. Y'all argument is that it's not being used anymore.
I like turtles
Hackintosh it
no fr tho.
I already got big sur running on my pc lmao
get ventura
Its called a hackintosh
EVERYONE shut up and read
Not with a 9th gen intel chip with an amd gpu
ok nuclear
It's not dead. You can still run the latest version of macOS on a hackintosh.
Macintosh 128K
That’s the apple Macintosh
Yes its a Macintosh
never said it wasnt
If you could read the Wikipedia article you would know that
The original 128k macs booted from ROM.
It’s a floppy drive
Later models had an internal hard drive
you just said it was dead and now your saying it won't be alive for long. Make up your fucking mind
LMAOO fr
He has no idea about hackintoshs
I said it's not used for the name of the operating system or the devices. it doesn't mean they purged the word from all other legacy stuff you can find by digging around. I do not need to show any sources to demonstrate that your source has nothing to do with the argument whatsoever
Or you could finance a hard drive
And if you know apple , they wont stop supporting any time soon.
A whole 20 megabytes on contract
I was told the word isn't being used anymore. I showed that is. Stop being ignorant to the facts.
most intelligent apple conversation
My brain is actively melting
Just Macintosh was the branding for a product line once. Pretty sure they were called that up to the point when they stopped being stacks on top of a case with separate monitor. Then they rebranded them to iMacs which were distinctively fitted entirely in a bulky clear plastic tube monitor.
Again, all I remember is our teacher called the white ones with separate monitor Macintosh and the new ones iMacs
no, you were told that mac and macintosh are different products, because they changed the name.
WDYM the last Intel Mac wasnt too long ago. Heck they built the Mac Pro not too long ago
Classic Macintosh basically ended when Steve Jobs came back and brought next step with him.
Bro just came out of his cave
That's exactly what I'm talking about. They decided that the 'product line' is still the same: MacBook. But on the inside, some are Intel now and some are completely other arch because M1. But in marketing terms, the 'products' are still MacBooks and that's their product line
So a Mac is a computer running macOS right? (Besides hackintoshes right?)
In osx they released something called true blue environment or classic mode where you can run all the apps from 9.2
a Mac is a computer whose official technical documentation says it is a Mac
Well, not all of them some of them required resources that the classic mode didn’t provide
And this time around, they didn't really change anything significant about it's presentation appearance-wise. Makes sense. Whenever you rebrand, you want to reinvent something about the product line as it's presented to consumer.
Having said all that... none of this has to do with the actual hardware lol. Just the plastic shell and the name printed on box lol
At one point the apple was rainbow colored but they changed it to monochrome idk
If I order a pc with an intel chip that acts like an intel chip is an intel chip, but the documentation says it’s an AMD, the what is the chip?
Meanwhile I am over here having been to an Apple Store opening with Steve Jobs and have repaired Apple products for the last 15 years.
ok
But it’s cool you guys have fun with your conversation.
So just because Electric Vehicles are being marketed as EVs. Makes it not a Electric Vehicle. It's now a EV? It literally sounds like the argument you are making.
Tell me where the "Mac" name originated from.
^
A mac is post funky bubbly g3 a Macintosh is a beige box that runs system 7 simple as
what the shit are you on about? you don't define based on your own gut feeling what the brand name of a product is, that's defined by the company who makes and sells the product. for example a Ryzen chip is any chip that AMD markets under the name Ryzen. you don't get to be like "oh this CPU that is not ryzen according to AMD looks kinda similar so it's a ryzen as well"
electric vehicle isn't a registered trademark
You still haven't provided me anything backing your argument...
You are wrong.
Not but gut feeling, it legit saying “intel” on task manager but if the documentation says “AMD” what is the chip ?
the chip is whatever the legitimate manufacturer of it markets it as in their official documents
You admit it. And walk away. I'm standing behind my argument. How is my facts going against what I'm saying? It literally says Macintosh on the damn website
Haha. Lucky for you... It's 2023. Back then before they started censoring it was fucked
It's named that. Point being? What does Macintosh HD stand for?
Local Disk/This PC for Windows is well... Describing what it's on.
Did the manufacture named it that? No
Did apple name their drives "Macintosh HD" in 2023? Yes
I could sell a pig and market it as a dog it is a dog
All you've been trying to argue is that just because apple used the name in a certain part makes it invalid.
Pull a source that says it doesn’t
It does mean something. They literally name it that. If it's not a Macintosh why would they name it Macintosh HD?
You will just say it’s wrong I’ve already shown you some. You show me one.
why is this still going on
It's a fucking Macintosh
if my operating system wasn't "Local Disk 10", why would my default drive be named "Local Disk"
If your gonna start calling names. I'll just be the bigger person and step away from it.
How have mods not muted you yet, stop being so aggressive
Quit bringing back up the discussion. Your the dude bringing it back constantly when I try to change the topic. That's all you've been doing here.
Lets move on please
Leave man’s alone
you are not allowed to operate power tools
“Mods he shit posting get him muted now!” 🤓
@dreamy rose it talks about pokimane and audio equipment. Why are you questioning why I'm trying to steer the conversation away?
The audio equipment goes crazy
Dang $3k for a audio setup for streaming is wack
Crazy
For professional equipment it’s not bad tbh
Ooh! Is that you?
No. I’m poor, remember?
Is this Elon's jet?
No it’s a surveying charter.
I like the plane number (N64)

Lol Canadian giveaway crap. Knowledge test
ikr it's like that in some parts of the US i think too. At least I can wake up everyday and thank the lord I'm not in Quebec

Excited to see what CPU i end up getting though, even if I don't exactly need it
Québec is an interesting idea
I just entered because I've been wanting one or two of the pillows for awhile, and 3/25 odds are actually really good for a giveaway
I need an upgrade to my system soon... A cpu would be nice haha
Still rocking a Haswell chip. It's showing its age
Even though I overclocked the shit out of it
Huh
rip guess I didn't get the draw :(
I just built a system myself for the first time. Originally was going to use a 12700k, ended up going with a 13900k. I ended up with (almost) enough parts to build two PCs. I still really need to sell that 12700k, motherboard, power supply, gpu, etc.
hardwareswap here i come
lmao
Lol
I may be an over spending degenerate, but I'm not that much of an overspending degenerate
Milwaukee, DeWalt, FLEX, Ryobi, RIGID, Bosch, or Makita?
Speaking of Apple, I just got my first iPad. I got a 5th Gen iPad Pro 2TB, brand new, for $1100 dollars. Great fucking deal on ebay.
sorry 12.9 inch
My eyes are on DeWalt. 👀
oh and its wifi + cellular
prove it
Apple does make some sweet products. I wonder when they will introduce cellular to Macs
There is cellular iPads...
It's been a thing ever since the 1st iPad lol
Seriously apple. Where are the cellular MacBooks
huh
The black bar on top of the iPads were for cellular antennas
Because he got the wifi model
Cellular is extra because not everyone needs it. And it's added cost to make
getting banned over apple
Yeah I never actually owned an iPad, just shitty cheap Android tablets. This one is mostly going to be for drawing/animation, a little video editing, random stuff. Might download movies and stuff on it. Idk, we'll see
Naw he got muted
Momo, the mod
WOW I just realised we have a #wanshow-live channel with all the links to the WAN shows!
I don't have to painfully search for WAN show dates on youtube anymore!
Yeah but when it comes to storage I didn't need 2tb, but it was unironically a great deal so I went for it. Can't hurt, but would never pay full price for it. Fuck the Apple tax. On the plus side it's M1 and has more ram, since it's the 1Tb+ version. My PC that I'm building now has 4 m.2 Nvme slots... I was originally going to have a motherboard with 3, but now I have 4, sooooo.... I guess I'm installing my whole steam library. 8Tb of Nvme, maybe more now that they 4tb ones are getting cheaper.
I've bought like, 6 2tb nvmes lately, for a bunch of stuff, but most of it is for this PC

only 5600mhz ram?
Where cooler
Yum
shit, forgot about that this is the updated photo
didn't want to go aio unless I absolutely have to
Where's the 4090?
Man of culture. Nocuta air cooler
its going to thermal throttle
Though... Umm... You may of wanted to get a beefier air cooler...
Like I said, I'm going to upgrade it when it's a bit cheaper, might go with 64gb then if I absolutely need it or it's a good enough deal.
are you sure it's real 🗿
thats the intel way 🙏 just throw more electricity at it to make it faster
I've done quite a bit of research, it should be fine with a nh-u12a, but testing it will be the ultimate measure. If you limit it to the recommended 253w it should definitely be fine from what I've heard. If I have to I will get an aio, but I'd rather not.
Let it work
use nitrous oxide
AMD is the only way to freedom. It's the only way to salvation. AMD IS THE WEI
Should've sold him a chiller
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym1Jjx4n76M&t=590s
a u12 seems
extremely optimistic
I'm 99% sure but I have to confirm it this weekend. The seller was very highly rated, and that exact listing had already had sales that were rated well and seemed legit. Plus it has the real apple seal on it, which is different from regular seals. I am checking to make sure tomorrow though, but I am almost positive it is legit
What’s the cooling capacity of the U12A
Linus was using an industrial chiller and it made the 13900K draw up to 500w while maintaining 80C
Only double the stock wattage
And only 6.2ghz all core
💀 very practical comparison for real usage
Oh if you got it thru eBay or something. Becareful if it's financed
apparently noctua rates the u12a as being able to handle a 13900k
The point of pushing a K-series processor was to the 95% of the redline
No. Watch the video
Even KS
I will have to see. It was idle at 30w on first couple boots, but I have yet to stress test it because I need to cable manage and stuff. That's why I did go with the thermal take contact plate and mx-6, was originally going with kryonaut extreme but I don't want to have to replace it as often.
He literally reached the limits of silicon. I have
Dang
I mean, I run an l12 on my 5900x, and noctua doesn't even think they're compatible so
You’re about to be a real tester for Intel’s practicality
it might not boost as high as it would with better coolers, but it'll probably work?
Sounds like it does fine
Yeah, as far as I am aware it can handle it, especially with the contact plate and good thermal paste. You can also limit it if you have to so it isn't constantly trying to go well beyond the recommended
5000w industrial chiller on a 13900k. He states that he has reached the limits of silicon. Liquid nitrogen changes the composition of silicon so it's able to reach higher clock speed
I am nothing, if not glouriously poptarted o7
no?
liquid nitrogen is just colder
they're not like
doing chemistry shit to the chip, it would definitely break
Eh, look up superconductors
I did say that it changes the composition of the silicon
Weird stuff happens when you get that cold, it’s more than just “colder”
Unironically though, since I won one of the CPU's in the giveaway, if I am one of the lucky ones who receives something like a 7950x I may switch from the 13900k. That's a big if either way though.
Isn’t the 13900K technically faster?
I don't think that's how superconductors work
Or would selling the board + i9 and getting another cooler be better
Keep checking your inbox just in case. If some people don't reply you may be chosen as a secondary winner. Unlikely, but possible.
AMD like:
Liquid nitrogen isn't directly contacting silicon. Not sure how a reaction between the two can happen besides thermals
Where should I report a group member for sending spam messages?
It is, but still might do it. Probably not, but the upgrade potential would be nice
I wonder if there are any solutions that are available to enterprises to cool servers with liquid nitrogen
Or mainframes for that matter

I almost went with the 7950x just for the upgrade potential, but decided to go with Intel for my first actual build since it is overall (at least slightly) faster, it was cheaper overall, and for some sentimental value. Honestly though, someday in the far future when I build a new PC, if AMD is still doing great and still has better upgrade potential I'll probably go with them
spicy
his results are kind of weird
but it seems like it'll probably work
Fair enough
You might want to look again, though silicon doesn’t appear to be one of the ones applicable
you're not turning a 13900k into a superconducter using ln2
Lol
Yeah, I thought silicon was one of the high temp ones, but it’s not
Noctua has indeed fallen off in recent years when regarding tower coolers. There lack of innovation frightens me. The thermalright pearless assassin 120 now beats the NH-D15 and many others for far lower price ranges than Noctua's best offering can beat it.
oddly enough, his testing showed that the u12a chromax was his best performing noctua cooler
The AK620 would be another example that I know of the top of my head
Might be the way his fans are configured?
he is in a very small room and i dont know if he had the same ambient temperature for every cooler
sure, I wouldn't expect to see such a significant drop just from ambient though
🤔 why does my android tablet wont give me the on screen keyboard while using an bluetoth mouse?
especially since he's gonna have to remount coolers every single time, and that's not gonna be particularly fast
Yeah I actually was talking to somebody about that in the floatplane chat the other week. I didn't even hear about the Assassin before I bought the Noctua, but I would have considered them if I knew about it even though I love Noctua. Noctua is great at a lot of things, including letting you keep using their coolers through countless upgrades, however I do hope they innovate more
and he is using LGA 1700 and LGA 1200 mounting hardware
what?
in the video light sent
was he?
I mean, it’s not long enough for all the air to drain out. As well, the temperature could just vary naturally
I will have to look that
sure, but the point is that it's unlikely that ambient would differ so much to give like, 5% delta in perf

This guy is most likely going to spam forever
Could someone assist me in tech support
I guess runs aren’t 200% accurate either, you have run to run variance
Like I did for every other tech support server and no one has helped me
Yeah it's weird. U12a and D15 are extremely close. Some show the d15 better, as it probably should be, but a lot of tests show the U12a extremely close or a bit better. Seems like a bit of a crapshoot, however, for whatever reason the u12a has been more expensive on Amazon than the d15 for a long time now. I went with the U12a because of it's extremely close performance and easier ram/case compatibility.
yep
it might just be variance in smoothness, although I'd expect noctua to have pretty precise manfucaturing
Atheist god bless discord mods
who likes blalls
Depends what kind
big black ones >:)
i believe this is the main reason using LGA 1200 mounts for some coolers and LGA 1700 for others , having a good proper mount like with a contact frame can help lower temps by 10c
Or just variance between runs maybe?
I'm talking about basketballs 😳
he also speculates that it might have something to do with heat pipe orientation on the IHS
im talking about men balls >;)
Looks like cinebench, doesn’t that vary a bit between runs?
Nah man balls are nasty
rlloy?
Gamer's nexus has talked about this, but frankly, it's a lot harder than it seems to do cooler testing.
I prefer holes
i love em they tasty as hell fr
Is that actually a thing people do?
The salt is real 🧂
lick men balls?, yeah
Some day someone will just find the smoothness, material, surface area etc and use physics to find how much energy it can let off
And instead of testing temp claims, they’ll test smoothness/surface area etc claims
Eww, With all that hair? I'd rather lick up there if I were you
You need to dial 911 and ask them for help
Ask for a swat team sent to your address
;-;
Someone fix my computer, the clock is wrong
Just drive into a pond, the apple alert system will detect a crash. If you survive the phone may be unlocked

can anyone help me in my tech support post

Install linux? Disable secure boot and get a usb drive or just do a fresh windows install
At work our IT is worthless, so many of the computer clocks are wrong and they won't fix it. We make fucking electronics (SMT) and they can't even get the computers right
fake number
Linux sounds like work
bet that
dang right it is lol
is it connected to the internet?
Yes
Internet time correction is disabled, unable to change it because admin perms
Guys I was just memeing, this is my actual build
linux < anything else
boot time?
Somewhere between 3 and 7 moons
Many moons ago
Get a usb drive, download windows 11 from Microsoft's website, restart the pc and go to the bios to disable secure boot ( key pressed depends on laptop, just google it ), then save and exit, restart again and press another key dependent on on the laptop just google it to go to the boot menu ,then click on the usb drive in the menu and go through the process of installing windows
On the plus side, don't need to worry about cpu cooling my R2D2 bröther
Sigh
ok buddy ur asking for it 😤😠😡
Sounds like work
You're the first person to mention my R2D2 profile picture and I've used for it a long time. Almost brought a tear to my eye
How about I just turn the laptop into the tech office and get a new one
Sliding to scroll doesn’t work either
Yes but it will mean that your school will no longer spy on you
