The issue is, at a base level of understanding, the main PC has the license stored on the system anyways. The shared PC needs to connect to the internet to validate the license.

Steam doesn't allow two people on the same license at the same time

If your PC was the main PC for their account, you could allow the other person to be online as the secondary to play online or whatever the case may be

Yeah. PS5, Switch and PC are hardwired but for phones and the TV in the back bedroom, the I guess the WiFi signal deteriorates so much through the walls that when the ISP is lacking it gets spotty. This time I was only getting 200 down on gig internet on my PC so there definitely was a problem, but that should give you an idea of how crappy the WiFi was in the bedroom
