Did you install and enable (service) NetworkManager? Did you install needed drivers? Did you log into your network, did you setup the /etc/hosts file? If other Linuxes get it working, Arch will too, you just need to know how to.

Meh, i personally prefer the manual route, and then makitthat a script (or following my WIP universial Red-Wire), just to know what was on it, and what got configured how. (Also, for Linux Noobs, its a nice start to start learning how terminal stuff works, and getting used to reading errorlogs, making configs. But thats just my experience

For OMV's,i recommended using Debian, and blobbing OMV's software on it. I "modded" an old NAS from Acer with an Atom One Core to do it, for a company as a cheap backup thingy, that they had lying around but couldn't use.
