Let me explain this the best that I can, I have a 5 minute timeout between so let me try to explain this that the best that I can:

1 of 2 things happened:

1. An employee of LTT installed Malware (could be Redline) and targetted the YouTube channels (He only had access to 3 when he hacked this employee)
2. An employee of LTT was simswapped which means they bypassed 2FA

The domains themselves that the hackers used are pregenerated as well as the website and the livestreams. You suspect that it's "chinese hackers" because they are registered with Nicenic, a chinese registrar, but it's the opposite. It's likely they chose this because the domains when they registered aren't compliaint with Spamhaus (domain blocker that's used by practically everyone) and which takes crypto payments, meaning they could have been completely anonymous.

It's a common hack and is probably one of a few succesfully attacks theat they could use, one of these scams once generated over 300K+ USD in crypto.

Here's what I really think could've happened. There was that "disgruntled" ex-employee who vented and leaked about the handbook on Reddit. Just based on things, they could've installed malware if they know what they were doing. Or a keylogger. I'm just SOLELY going off my limited opsec knowledge of cyber security and such. A simswap is also very possible. I worked at an ISP/mobile carrier in billing and had one instance where a dealer in a store called in for a sim swap. I had to escalate the call to our legal team. AI voice training is very real. You call up a CS1 agent at say Telus and you could probably have Linus' voice "deepfaked". Or someone else at LMG.
