My most recent stupid diagnosis is that the 30 series hdmi is total garbage. When it's in 4k120, it will not do the HDMI handshake when the screen switches away and back. You end up with 'no input'. The fix is to either use an 8k DP->hdmi converter, or DP

for price to performance, its close to the 5700x, but faster, only 20 dollars more, and the x3d is 20% faster but 100 dollars more.

no reason not to kick the extra 20. im not on a budget but cheap storage too, said its "mid af" and when it comes to m.2 yea, but its still 50x faster than my mechanical drive, and its last years top speeds. hell ddr5 is just around the corner.
