hey, planning on a full system upgrade this year, got a 3070 ti for 400 dollars, works great in many games at much higher framerate in vr even.... but cpu limited i think, and hard drive limited too.... planning on a ryzen 5800x, but currently my i7 4790 is just not cut out for playing skyrim, fallout vr, or vrchat.... all of them seem to cap the cpu, in turn this can do two things, either completely cut the gpu usage in half, or at times cap the gpu usage with terrible performance even tho the gpu is running at max, think it may be due to the shaders.

my main issue in vr is clarity, ssaa in contractors works great to clear things up, supersampling in general too.... but some games use taa or fxaa and they look horrible. and only fix is to turn up the res so high it tanks..... but those are usually flatscreen to vr modded games that use typical good flatscreen AA methods, but not good vr methods.... raft vr for example, jaggies because antialiasing just isnt really a thing in that game.

contractors tho, its crystal crispy clear.... its the best vr game, so thats a bonus... battlefront vr mod is the bomb.

one component just vastly exceeds the rest, some bizzare behavior like the gpu capping usage but the cpu is capped and too far behind to keep up. one moment you get max fps, just as soon as that happens it stutters, jitters and drops again.

luckily its only the titles i already had expectations for, knowing they were already cpu bound before i started my upgrade
