drives using a portion of TLC/QLC as an SLC cache is not the same as dram. Dram holds the index for the drive so the controller knows where is what. SLC cache is what you're talking about

for Controller, WD and samsung have their own controllers, otherwise the market is dominated by Silicon motion (SMI) and Phison, but Marvell and Realtek are still a thing.
For Nand... there's a lot of them. Micron/Elpida, Hynix, Kioxia/toshiba, Samsung, Intel, Sandisk.

Obviously more rare brands exist in both spaces but these are who dominates the space
