intel COULD massively improve the A series GPUs now if they wanted to do, i fully believe they are holding back a LOT of major performance fixes on purpose because Alchemist has gone off like a damp squib... and it doesnt matter what intel do now, intel will never make alchemist look good to people, even if all these driver fixes come out and make the a770 comparable to a 3070... nobody will care... so... intel are trickling out driver updates... slowly, just fixing stuff that is genuinely very broken, and minor performance improvements... and when battlemage comes out... intel will release the new mega-fixed drivers the B770 will be comparable with the 70 class card that nvidia have at the time, and battlemage will be hailed as "what intel should have done in the first place, this is great", and alchemist owners will also get the benefit of their cards being dramatically better out of the blue

the other factor is - how fast is the disk? If they skimped on the storage to save money (which they probably did if it's "free") that's another factor, how fast the server can load new chunks from disk and how fast it can save newly generated ones

likely they just have a SAN with HDDs they export to the hypervisor via NFS. Or even cheaper, they run some cheap KVM panel and only have local servers and hardware

I use pterodactyl and put the entire directory for containers on the NVME. So few people play on my private servers it's not an issue

depends where you live... in the uk... you own the house.. its yours... but... you also happen to owe the bank a fuck ton of money.... and it just so happens that if you stop paying them that money, the only thing you have that is worth that large amount of money... is the house... so they technically... sue you for the value of the mortgage, and to settle that case, you essentially sell the house back to the bank... (which is all summerised under foreclosure, but the previous explanation is the long winded version).. i.e. i have the deed and the land certificate for my house... in my safe... in my attic... right now... yet still have a while left on my mortgage
