I'm behind a clusterf--k of CGNAT or whatever my ISP did to completely prevent any possible incoming connections. Even UPnP and NAT-PMP fails with zerotier and tailscale - they all fall back to https relay nodes to function.

WiFi is secured with hardware mac filter and the only wireless device is my phone which is also rooted, AFWall+ and I know exactly what it's up to most of the time thanks to htop.

No idea how anything could get into my home network and send WoL packets like this... The only possible way is if end device itself initiates the connection and maintains it after sleeping/hibernating, and gets a wake packet from whatever it's connected to.

Was very spooky when my laptop turned on out of nowhere at 3am a long time ago...

as far as i know, most AIOs dont differ from each other literally at all
most AIOs, like the ones from arctic, corsair, coolermaster, asus etc etc are using the very same asetek pump in their cpu-mounted unit part, the cables dont matter and the radiator is also just a chamber

most AIOs are entirely the same, made in the same factory... the arctic freezer 2, has the offset mount, which places the cold plate more directly over the chiplets on ryzen cpus, making it better for cooling ryzen cpus

if you had an offset mount for any AIO, then any AIO would perform the same as the LF2.. but the offset mounts dont exist for other AIOs

yeah, most are made in the same factory by the same manufacturer, and then get some bells and whistles added on by the badge manufacturer

I really get a kick from information like this, because the more you know the better choices you can make... meaning realizing that "ye the pump unit on the asus and corsair differ very much, 1 is large 1 is slimmer, but its literally going to work the same way, same rate of failure, same speed of rotation, therefore literally the same temps"

the pump doesnt have much effect on the temps.. its the radiator that the badge manufacturer specs from the real manufacturer that makes the real difference... and the ability for that radiator to absorb heat from the liquid, and then get rid of that heat into the air... so you want the AIO with the thickest radiator with the most dense fins, and then strap some high pressure fans to it

cheap AIOs have thin rads with low density fins, because they are much much cheaper to make

its also true that somehow (i dont get this part how its really possible, probably its due to WAAAY too much over manufacturing and way less demands then they manufactured for), that you can still buy 6-8 years old (meaning released first 6-8years ago) corsair units, off the shelf, like the corsair h150i
but the newer models of the h150i, named elite capellix do use the newer kind of asetek pumps, so thats really different

real manufacturers essentially have a "choose your 3 courses" menu... where the badge manufacturer will choose some specs, and then the real manufacturer builds them to those specs from prefab parts that they already have, over time, that menu gets updated with newer parts and older parts become cheaper

you would be surprised about how few real manufacturers there actually are for certain things

as far as i know, if you would compare a "custom" made watercooling system with individual fittings, standalone pump, cpu unit etc, then it is the pump and the workout how the internal cpu fins look like, that makes the most diff

the more dense the fins are packed, and the bigger the rad... the more heat it can shift.. but... the harder it is for the pump to push water through that radiator... so you need a pump with higher pressure... the pump its self doesnt make the cooling better, the pump just allows you to use your radiator properly

just try it and see what you think, keep an eye on it, if you are constantly running at 90c and constantly seeing your cpu running below stock clock speeds... then you should buy a new cooler at some point down the line

but... the stock cooler will work fine, for now... until you feel the need to change it

tbh, thats probably more important when you are using a stock cooler... as long as you have 2 fans moving air in and 2 moving air out, properly, across the case... you are constantly replacing the warm air in the case with cooler air... which will help your stock cooler
