I emailed back and forth for a while with no luck, had my attorney start a lawsuit against Discord, then finally a human, one of the 3 apparently working for the whole damn company, got in contact with me and we dropped the suit. Because that was the only way to get their attention.

As a content creator with child characters as my main cast, I've had to issue a lot of takedowns for R34 because some people are freaking gross. It got to the point where it was cheaper to just have an attorney on payroll all the time and have them issue all the takedowns.

So already having that relationship it didn't cost me a dime to get the legal process started and obviously Discord doesn't know how serious I am or I'm not so as soon as they see that's been started they're going to get in contact.

Having an official legal representative that can send threatening letters to businesses that won't play ball with you is really sweet.

in that case it's completely normal. modern operating systems like Windows 10 or 11 will on purpose use more ram if you have more available. the reason for that is they keep more stuff in memory if possible to speed up your experience, because reading from ram is a lot faster than from your ssd.

therefore, if you have 32gb of ram, Windows will say ha you have plenty, i'm gonna keep as much as i can in ram to make your experience faster.

of course, this is dynamic, if you open a big app like a video editor and load 25GB of crap in ram for example, Windows knows that and it'll remove some stuff it had cached to make room.

aka, nothing to worry about, it might look like a lot, because it's actually for example caching websites. so if you open youtube, go to another site then back to youtube it'll load a lot faster because it kept it in ram for you.

once your GPU runs out of VRAM it'll swap to system memory to avoid your computer hard crashing. this is best avoided, since the performance impact is insane.

the ram on your gpu is close to the chip on purpose, gpu's need really fast ram. once it needs to swap to system ram the performance of the gpu can drop by as much as 90+% depending on the workload.

If you're streaming games, ~2k will get you a pretty decent gaming PC (with an NVIDIA card for encoding). You could also invest in a good microphone and webcam - and all this won't even be $5k. Though, if you're starting out in streaming, I do NOT recommend any of this. I recommend getting a PC you'll enjoy (I assume for gaming) and then tack on streaming and grow from there as you see fit. The more you stream and grow your channel, the more you can invest in better equipment.

i'm very unfamiliar with ASUS laptops... if they have a setting for it in the bios that's one way to fix it, you'd need to check that. if it doesn't have a setting then basically hope and pray. you can check what speed the soldered ram runs at using a tool like cpu-z, then you can upgrade the other ram with a stick of the same speed and you should theoretically be good.

modern operating systems like Windows 10 or 11 will on purpose use more ram if you have more available. the reason for that is they keep more stuff in memory if possible to speed up your experience, because reading from ram is a lot faster than from your ssd.

therefore, if you have 32gb of ram, Windows will say ha you have plenty, i'm gonna keep as much as i can in ram to make your experience faster.

in other words, it might look like you are using 13GB but most of that is cached data

The Steam Deck comes with a carrying case that can be packed into a carry-on without issue, and is pleasant to use during the flight, easy to put away.
