Samsung in particular covers the backs of their batteries in adhesive. It’s certainly taken some strength to get them up properly without using too much heat, or too much alcohol that could leak under the battery into the display

If you were a real tech, I just don’t think you’d need “reminding”, considering Samsungs are the second most common device behind iPhones. About defensively - practically, majority of parts of the OS do a lot of non essential stuff that people don't usually need, and internet access to anything that has admin is dumb. I have two 3rd party firewalls that block things on a lot of levels which ensures things stay offline. Yes... I've been managing that level of security manually myself for over 15 windows devices belonging to friends, family, parents, etc... It's usually one-time since all system stuff is dealt with from the start and any additional thing is controlled by prompts. They've understood it well enough that they can control it on their own. Yeah that's the best way to go but one of my primary tasks is gaming and recent anticheats make it impossible to do that in VMs so... Paranoid protected Windows it is 😂 It works surprisingly well though. It's the way it was always meant to be - set it up and leave it unattended, no problems whatsoever. Checked a bit more to see two sys files that were somewhat conflicting, spikes of CPU usage and crashes, stutters, etc. Thanks to processhacker2 (super powerful tool btw, my favorite admin tool for the system), loaded his SSD from my desktop using an adapter and deleted the sys files myself. Not the best solution but it worked...

We used to run McAfee at work. Discovered one day on a user machine that I couldn’t run powershell commands to fix another problem. Traced it to a single file that was a powershell dependency, but not in the PS directory and was a Windows component. Did some research and found McAfee and replaced the system component with their own so it could log and filter PS commands. Well, one day whatever that file was talking to broke and so no commands could be processed… couldn’t replace the file because it was in-use and I couldn’t find what was using it. Not to mention all the custom permissions it had in it. Can’t load drive in another computer because bitlocker…

Tl;dr- because McAfee didn’t uninstall correctly, I had to rebuild a machine from scratch.

Eh the current drivers are not bad, AMD's been working really hard to get ready for RDNA3 on the software side

the fixes apply to RDNA2 though as well

also RDNA2 doesn't have the rest bug which was the biggest problem for RDNA1, where you would usually get a driver hiccup the driver couldn't reinitialize so you would get a black screen with RDNA1 and GCN on a hardware level.

RDNA2 did have a bout of that with some laptop GPUs recently, but it was fixed because it's not an inherent problem with the hardware.,
