I honestly don’t see remote work going away. I see it expanding and I see a lot of academic parties also moving a good percentage of their offerings to remote staff and students. So it’s not just businesses. It’s also in the academic field. A place such as New York University or northwestern or Michigan State have very large IT departments especially in the wake of the pandemic and folks not travelling as much. In fact it’s cheaper to have remote students because you don’t have to feed and house them or deal with their water sewer or laundry needs

Remote work and school has also highlighted how devastatingly car centric and car dependent so many communities are. It will be interesting to see how the landscape literally and figuratively changes over the next decade or so. A lot of people are getting better Internet connections they are getting newer computers that are more capable and I don’t see it returning to how we did it before with rush-hour in the morning and evening

It will be very interesting to see how civil planners also change directions with transit and highways and all of the other infrastructure related to transportation

And the other aspect of this if you look at what Linus is doing with the lab 2 - as you can see that certain areas actually have different tie-ins with the power & data, different stormwater management codes, and they have different road geometries and all of that.

Longer term it will be a buyers lessors market I think.
