This is one way of thinking about it. A Mac and a PC are like the flat head and Philips head screw drivers. They both do the same thing ultimately but they do different things better. A flat head is a great chisel and all round great for levering things and a phylips head is good for drilling holes in not very hard things and good for stabbing your friends!

@golden talon I've gone into detail about this before, but for specific hardware & driver reasons, releasing a Switch 2 / Switch Pro with more powerful hardware would split the game library, and every single game would need to be ported over manually. Even if nintendo wanted to make a better Switch, there is the massive hurdle of updating their entire library or be left with a console that can only play a handful of games.

Ive got a steam deck, it does okay in some games emulating the switch. But kirby,most mario games,zelda breath of the wild and animal crossing run at 5-10 fps

Yeah, I'm giving it a bit more crap than it deserves. But it runs BOTW, LA:HD, and Age of Calamity very poorly. Most of my time playing Age of Calamity was sub 15 FPS on the switch. BOTW has huge map sections that run at 10-20 FPS, and LA:HD constantly hitches from 60 down to about 30 every 10 seconds or so.

I do not think it runs those games well.
