Not necessarily

you can however make a special device outside of the tab itself to make it as a driver to be an adapter

unique roost
#

He could write an Android app that could conceivably route the data from Bluetooth to usb

slim yacht
#

you realistically cant do that with android lol

But he'd have to write a driver for windows depending on how the app does it or the limitations of Android

#

Yeah idk if Android allows USB access

It's 75 inches

Also I've been using an old LG monitor for years. An IPS panel at 3440x1440. 60hz. One of their first "Ultra-wides". Response time likely isn't that much better. I dunno if I'd be able to tell between 1ms response and 10ms.

full fossil
#

in my option id go with an LG option, The panels are great and they have wonderful warranty's

runic sierra

Well, I'm used to this old panel with light bleed in all 4 corners. I don't NEED perfect blacks from an OLED. Surely there's gotta be another option with good response times for gaming

Exactly, and I haven't used once since, lol. I don't want to spend over $3,000 on a TV.

Right, but if you drink occasionally and even then only like, 1 glass. I don't see an issue

#

not too bad that I got fired because it was not a very healthy job; I had a roommate who worked for the same person and I realized a lot of the frustrating things he would do in conversation probably stemmed from how he had to interact in that job

#

I think one of the big problems was the boss was both managing but also developing the codebase, so when he wanted a feature implemented, it was moreso you had to guess at how he wanted something implemented, instead of just accomplishing what he wanted; and he would micromanage at that

#

a good example is when I refactored a component that was duplicated but only really had a coordinate system change; the duplication was causing problems because we were iterating rapidly on it, so I made the component just deal with abstract coordinates and had subclasses actually plug in the x/y so they could be swapped - he disagreed with some naming convention I had (wanted 'width' to be on the subclasses, but since it was abstract I didn't call it 'width'), and nearly tore out all of my changes and sent me back to dealing with duplication. Had to argue with him a fair amount before he wouldn't just tear my code out

honestly i think i'm not cut out or necessarily super interested to angle into research, I'm sort of more in the category that I studied CS to figure out how the computer actually works (assembly/machine org.), got to learn C and how memory works, data structures/algorithms, got to look at some OS internals and how filesystems work, some exposure to distributed systems and security, and I'm probably content to not use 90% of that as I work on iOS apps but maybe someday I'll write an OS in my free time for the hell of it

and now I’m jealous of inner city subways/transit because damn that would be convenient compared to traffic

#

San Diego has a light rail but it’s quite out of the way, compared globally it’s extremely infrequent, and of course the city is so sprawly its kinda random chance how well it works to get you somewhere. Busses might help but they’re also super infrequent haha

The Deutsche bahn introduced the so called 9 euro ticket a couple months ago ( its basically a ticket for nine bucks that carries you through the whole country). Thousands of people that didn’t took a subway in years where now active clients of the Deutsche Bahn, but they still decided to not longer sell the ticket which is kinda dumb in my opinion

I could use Microsoft Office either online or in WINE.

i dont blame you for liking linux but for you to say its much easier and much convenient in comparison to windows is far from the truth.

Who the fuck use adobe only for flash

unique roost

With valve getting into the game officially I have no doubt it'll get better but as of right now it's still bad and inconsistent

woeful minnow

Proton works for most games now

Premiere, after effects, photoshop, etc

Flash is a good reason to keep a VM around .. kid you not, our company still uses flash for certain niche applications that cannot yet be retired

woeful minnow

Even anticheat isn’t an issue for most games now

No. Normies go outside. Geeks stay here.

Better yet since this is a Linux discussion, let's go to #linux.

slim yacht

hate all you want but windows is still superior for majority of users
i use both linux and windows, can confirm lol

unique roost

I like this suggestion

woeful minnow
#

The amount of dumb issues I’ve seen people have on windows is insane

cursive minnow
woeful minnow
#

And guess what? A command fixes it half the time

#

The other half the time they have to reinstall windows

slim yacht
woeful minnow

I’d rather take the os that lets the command work 100% of the time

unique roost
#

Lol now everyone's just being a dick

slim yacht
#

i'd rather take an os which doesnt need me learning sudo language

cursive minnow

Game modding is even more pain and sometimes impossible

Linux users don’t try to convince people to use Linux because they think it makes them superior, it’s because we’re sick of being tech support for windows users and having to fix their dumb issues

neon mesa
#

Just keep it to yourself

wind wind

When I hit it it went flying into my roommate who was standing on the steps and said he felt it flapping at his feet

neon mesa

There are a lot more tech support for windows because guess what
90% of users use it

#

And a lot more less tech savy users on it

#

People who already installed linux can already do shit by themselves

A lot of niche programs also only works on windows

slim yacht

if you dont like to help then shut up, other people can do it for you.
if youre tired of it then leave people who wants to stay on windows
linux is cool and shit but people will still choose ones that is universally used most

woeful minnow

Yeah but they’re niche

Isn’t the whole point of computer automation is for shit to work automatically
