#Red Gear Selector??

Have you tried clearing Sifa, waiting a short while, making sure the breaks are off, and then trying to move off? I had an issue while streaming yesterday where Sifa wouldn't be audible, causing the breaks to come on. Every time that happened, I'd have to bring the train to a stop, set throttle to off, brakes to off, wait a little, then I could get movin again
Brakes***
i didnt try using sifa yet
nor do i know what it is / how it works
pretty new
i drove alot of trains without using it though
and it never had a issue there
its all the german trains making problems T-T
Pressing sifa really did work
but why do i always need to make a full break just to slow down a little
that sucks so much
yea this game is unplayable
I see a lot of things that could be wrong there.
Did you unlock the brake key? It looks like you didn't unlock the brakes, thus the loco won't use traction.
At this stage you also must set the power handle to 0, because the loco already has 16 notches of power but it won't work since the brakes were still active.
Did you play the loco introduction / tutorial scenario?
I'm pretty sure it teaches you how to do get it running 🙂
its set to on
and yes i did play the tutorial
and i now managed to find out how to fix it
i pull the lever back to off, wait 5 sec
it turns back on
braking too much makes it lock the acceleration until you put it on off for 5 sec
Basically what is happening is that you must reset the power handle notches. If you brake with notches still, you'll have to set the power handle to 0 so that the notches go to 00.
Glad you got it working. 🙂
Thank you for your help though, really appreciate it
Also, whys that? Who came up with this idea and why?
seems pretty unncesserary to me
It is how most locomotives work, but this one the reason is simple. It is a safety mechanism and it is an older one too. You can't be asking the locomotive to use dynamic brakes or even try to brake the wheels while using power. This will cause the electric motors to overheat.
The BR 111 uses a tap changer mechanism to raise or lower the power to the electric motors.
So in order to prevent doing silly things, the tap changer system just won't let you do anything unless you reset it.
