My gf had an animated skin on her car which absolutely tanked framerates
And when we were racing there was someone else who had a smoke trail or something, and everytime they overtook me my framerate tanked
Which also resulted in lots of funny things like the game missing inputs or the physics engine throwing a wobbly, resulting me in flying or crashing for no reason

Speaking of Reload, I've been playing some Ranked Reload recently to get the Ranked quests done. Reload has a smaller map and is faster paced, so that's a nice way to burn through all of that.
But once I got into Gold 1 I noticed that all of a sudden the game felt a whole lot sweater than in Bronze or Silver
The alternatives would've been regular Ranked BR which is meh, or Ranked Rocket Racing....
For me by now stepping onto a LEGO piece sounds preferable over playing Rocket Racing.

I saw a post on Reddit complaining about the state of the current chapter's map, and I do kinda agree.
At the beginning of the chapter it was a very coherent map, but since then they've just been putting new stuff in random places and now all coherency is gone.
The Star Wars takeover was cool, but they would've probably done better by just completely reverting the map to the S2 one after it ended and working from there.
Still having Resistance Base, First Order Base and Outpost Enclave is just dumb, who ever goes there now?

To use it, you have to aim somewhere. It then sends in the air strike. The PAS is supposed to be a consumable item.
But Epic programmed it in such a way that it only gets removed from your inventory after the bombs have been dropped. If you opened your inventory after setting a target and then dropped it on the floor, it would not despawn and you could pick it up again after use.
Do they even test these things? 🤣

To me it feels like they're now in the "throw stuff at this season and see what sticks" mode, to try and salvage a season which doesn't sit well with the playerbase.

Even though I haven't had as much time to play Fortnite in recent weeks, I'm enjoying this mini-season a whole lot. The map is fun, weapons are fun, art style works well. And the map feels coherent again, not the mess that we got in S3/S4.
Chapter 6 map was great during S1 and the new POIs introduced in S2 were good too, but ever since the Star Wars mini-season it just became a jumbled incoherent mess.
Also just noticed that during this weekend, games are only 60 players rather than 80. Epic wrote that this should help to make games feel a little more balanced as it helps SBMM.

Crash Pad Juniors are awful shockwave replacements. Buggy pieces of garbage.
They always deploy when I don't need them to, but the one time I do expect one to deploy... it doesn't. Or it doesn't deploy in the right spot.
So, how's people in here feeling about Chapter 7?

Another thing I dislike: hitscan red-dot ARs. Getting lasered from across the map by an opponent who you can't even see because they have the high ground sure makes for great gameplay.

I like Chapter 7 a lot from a gameplay perspective. The method for unlocking the battle pass isn't good, but it also doesn't personally affect me much as I am a lunatic that always races to hit level 200 in the first 3 weeks

They'll buff SMGs and the non-scoped ARs. But it sounds like the Deadeye AR will remain a laser.

I was playing a match of BR yesterday and got to the final 1-v-1. And suddenly I got a Victory Royale.
I knew the final player wasn't a bot which got lost in the storm, I engaged with them just before and managed to deal some damage before they managed to escape in a car. They didn't move like a bot and to the best of my knowledge, bots can't drive cars.
When I looked at the replay I saw that they were looting a chest, kneeling, and healing themselves with a flowberry mist grenade. Then all of a sudden they disintegrated, so I guess their game just crashed. Giving me the win.

How are we feeling about last week's changes to Zero Build?
I'm quite liking them. Being able to free fall and cut your glider is great for dropping, and the splat animation (+keeping 1 HP) is funny.

i am so very happy about the changes. It’s really changing the pacing of the matches, and honestly making solo way more fun. I haven’t been able to play with teammates yet since Thursday’s update, but I’d expect I’ll have similar very positive feelings

I was in the final 1v1 and ended up losing because I the reload animation of the Pulse Pistols caught me off-guard and I was just too far away from the opponent for the twin hammer shotguns to be effective 😦
