Calling AI an "advancement" when all it's done so far is violate copyright law, displace real artists, replace all art with horrid looking garbage, overall cause more issues than it "solves", consume so many resources, and literally bring tech back to 2015 (many devices will come with 8GB of RAM in 2026 due to the shortage caused by AI companies) is like calling Train Sim Classic a polished game.

And there's something beautiful about that. Sure, the TV programme isn't something major by many people, but it's still an iconic thing in the original MSC.

this isn't filling in pointless busywork, it's replacing part of what made the game be what it is.

if it was like, some code, fine. It's like a less angry StackOverflow, except more resource intensive, and far stupider. If it's some unimportant background texture that adds to the game but won't be too distracting, whatever, as long as it's temporary. The issue is replacing actual art in-game with it, like the music.

i have played msc (not as much though) and yes, i know that it makes the game to what it is but as someone said it's an optional thing, you can disable it, and apparently there is an upgrade price of $8 from msc to mwc which even all things considered with the ai dilemma is a resonable price and something one can skip over the fact

voices you (probably) wouldnt notice that they are ai the way they are now (and dependant on the method used) unless specifically mentioned (as he did)

in the end, i and mostly everyone else dont know why and how he chose/used ai. can be upscaling textures, can be to replicate textures or whatever
