Most of the highways around Berlin are done now. Have to do internal city sections of Berlin, Leipzig, and Dresden and I can move on. Still have a highway route mapped out to complete and will see what is missing. Then two more cities to remap.

The reversals along connecting roads is very handy in places along this circle.

I actually saw a news story a couple months ago about someone reversing onto a highway ramp. I was like come on, man, he's playing ATS. 😂

I will do it where ramps join or split so I can avoid having to take that road later. Also, when clearing road in France I was on TMP at the time and no one was around, so I said screw it and did a ramp. Not caught. 😄

I did stop when a driver showed up and went by and stayed stationary. Later, I was driving properly and merged into a highway on the island and someone not paying attention rammed right into me and flipped over. My laughter erupted.

So I at one time had a 100% completed California.

One of the few places still explored, near Eureka.

It's comical to have all except the newest cities discovered and yellow but not have a single road driven.

Some players may get this with Germany given how much is redone.

Think my reexploration will involve a couple random Interstate back and forths before starting on highway ramps.

Interstate 5 through all of Washington from the south, for instance.

So this is ATS, but remind me never to get gas from this gas station. 100% of the time, it is necessary to T-bone someone out of line to get out because AI has the reasoning power of someone with no IQ.

Sees truck signalling that it wants to enter.
Ignores it and drives past.
Next car sees truck. Ignores it and goes past.
Eventually traffic stops for the light. More arrives behind.

That said, I was entering highways in Germany last nite and the car in the nearest lane moved over to let me in. Twice in a row. This is a lovely touch.

ATS fun fact: the cheapest gas in the game is from the five newest states. Outside of those, New Mexico is still a good bet, but Colorado is best of the rest by two cents over New Mexico.

I remember it used to be under $2 a gallon.

So if you plan to be in the east, avoid guzzling as much engine juice as possible until you get there.

The entire west coast is the worst place to fuel up unless you are literally driving between those destinations; in that case, choose owning a large garage in Oregon (or Nevada if you cross over there) as that is cheaper than even New Mexico's gas.

I just saw an ad for Nebraska in Artesia.

I took part in a Discord conversation about this earlier. I strongly think the I-90 is going to be continued to the I-35 connection via South Dakota and putting the Minnesota segment of the I-90 under Iowa to connect to the I-35, this giving another path out of Chicago, through South Dakota to the west. My money is on South Dakota.

I originally thought it may be finished, but we'd have to go all the way to Wisconsin for that. North Dakota is not important for now as it's just the I-94 which has some concurrencies and eventually goes out from Indiana to end at Port Huron, Michigan at the Canadian border.

Since the 94 goes through Wisconsin too, I suspect a stretch to work that highway will come later, but South Dakota is possible.

I could honestly see Michigan before all of the states south of it at that point.

It's the car capital, after all.

So South Dakota provides a full option west of Chicago, and therefore, I think they might add that route first as it's a bit hard to travel northwest if they omit that.

I-90 is as north as we need to go other than the I-94.

If I am right on South Dakota, then whether North Dakota is next is really up in the air. To deliver to North Dakota from Chicago, Wisconsin would be needed for the I-94 and then there is no convenient order, so I suspect Illinois has to wait.

Oh, and there's the fact that the I-90 and I-94 would later have to be connected to the segments from the north, which could involve redoing some roads. Unless they internally map it out using existing graphics and then remove those blocks from the release builds, the pain of having to connect sections would be unwanted so they will probably just continue what they have.

Why charge one price for two states when you can get more for each state? I say further east because a Rhode Island DLC would be pretty pointless.

Also, Oklahoma is smaller than either Dakota, I think?

It makes me wonder where Washington DC will end up. It can go with Virginia since it's the last state from the west and borders it, then states behind it can be entered later.

I suspect Maine and all the tiny states including Rhode Island will form the last American DLC.

One nite driving home (lived with my parents then), I was driving al a normal speed on a clear road, then my car suddenly started moving right. Turned hard left, and it eventually turned but too far left, so I turned hard right. I wound up having to turn left and right a second time, all the time pumping the brakes. I managed to stop the thing without a crash or going off the road. It was from that moment I realized I'm actually a pretty good driver. 🏁

It is for that reason I would risk driving a car with weak brakes. I know how to adjust for them if I know they are weak. Actually drove my prior car to the wrecker but told my mother to drive behind me just to give me space (and in case I found it to be undriveable along the way). I almost panicked when I saw a cop had pulled someone over ahead of me and worried he might find something to get me for, and I'd have to admit what I was doing.

Huh. So the blocked off road from downtown Houston (none usable) enters to head to Interstate 10 and gets the San Antonio/Beaumont option. The former is our road exiting from I-69. The latter is a different Beaumont road than ours, complete, we can literally use a mod to get through it...but we use the other one. Makes me wonder why they bothered constructing (in real life) the one we use.

I just ran the dev cam through Houston, that's a long street. I am shocked they didn't use part of that area to put a business or two in. Maybe trucks are not allowed there.

Got wind of a bug report near the terminus at Sheridan, one city west to Cody. May detour off at an earlier exit to check that out.

Yes and no kinda. Everything is in the vanilla game (since that is in TMP) but you normally can't own it. Plus the livery (at least currently) is AI only in the regular game since there isn't any company that spawns that livery so you can only see it on AI trucks.

I know this comment is a month old but, i think what they are going to do after the Benelux rework is they are going to move slowly westwards and start reworking France,GB, and the Iberian Peninsula. It would make the most sense right now if they just rework the entirety of mainland europe and maybe release a few new DLCs here and there

If I were SCS I would prioritize mainland europe because thats where all the current highest quality DLCs are and where the majority of people ingame drive
