I am using Proton GE on desktop and it appears that the input autodetect is bugging out.
Having no controller connected at all causes the issue as seen in the video. Leaving the mouse unmoved for a brief moment causes the input to switch to controller (the start menu switches text from "click any button" to "press A"). Due to no controller actually being there, the default input seems to be moving up, looking (and shooting when outside) to the top left. I would hazard a guess that maybe it has to do with thinking I am using a steam deck and trying to switch to it's default input method.
I can connect a controller via wire and as long as the controller is powered, it will not auto-switch input methods giving a temporary fix. Using a controller connected via Bluetooth doesn't seem to fix the input switching issue. However, I need to borrow a controller to be able to use this fix. Also, waving my mouse around constantly does keep me in control, however it makes it a bit difficult to read tooltips or unit stats.

I should also add, openning a menu when it is in controller input method just moves the selection as far up as possible
