We've investigated the issue, and there is nothing to be really worried about.

The AI people are panicking about is DomoAI - an app available through Discord's App Directory. They have not partnered with Discord as some claim, merely are available to use via Discord and are featured by them. As such, none of the images and text you send through Discord will be used by DomoAI to train anything, because they physically can't access that data. Moreover, they specifically say the images you send for AI-ification will also not be used to train:

• DomoAI does not access or use any image unless you explicitly choose it through the "Edit with Apps" option in Discord.
• We do not train on your artwork or images, and no content is stored after generation is complete.
• Your creations remain 100% yours. We want to assure you that your privacy and creative rights are fully respected.

  This alone is already enough to not warrant any response, but further still there is information on how this works, which is a bit more speculative.

I suspect internally, the Discord simply integrates the app with every user's account. You can, right now, go to the app directory and browse thousands of apps that you can choose to add to your server or your account. By adding an app to your account, you can use that app in any server, without that app being explicitly added to the server. This is incredibly useful for things like translation tools, and servers can control whether the external app's outcomes are visible to all or just to you. Banning an app simply means it can't be used on the server but — if the user can't have a response visible only to them in such a case — anyone who wants to use it can just copy paste the image into DMs and use it there.

Overall there is no need to worry about this particular app, and seeing how this wildfire of misinformation has spread throughout Discord, it would be great if you (and anyone else reading it) help in fighting against it by telling people what this actually is, instead of providing a one-sentence summary that straps away all the details that matter, as I've seen people do.
