Oh I know, I was actually trying to say he meant the apology. As in, the "good boy" was him talking about being the weapon against shadow dragons. I wasn't saying the apology isn't real, just that it's the sign that he doesn't truly understand how much he's just being puppeted so Hayze biting back that they expect Malefore to kill even Hayze made him feel so uncomfortable.

Personally, I appreciate the sentiment, but keep in mind no one mentioned adult themes yet. They seem mid-late teens and it's not abnormal for them to explore relationships on their own terms. Talking about shipping does not have to mean adult themes, and being the first to bring those themes up, even in warning, can sometimes do more damage than it prevents, as the people involved may not have even been thinking about that until it was mentioned.

While yes, I do recognise the distinction between casual shipping, and specifically adult themes, DI does already contain a lot of adult themes as it stands, so it's often still important to remind people that various characters have to be treated differently from others.
Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, Jack has gone on record to say that any romantic shipping of his teenage/ underage characters makes him uncomfortable - even when it's with other characters of the same age group.

Again, yes I know it's gonna happen anyway, but I'm asking people be very mindful of it, especially since the creator himself is averse to it as well.

I didn't even see this response from my discord alerts. I'm just gonna respond and then put this to bed.

Just to be clear: It was meant exactly as that, a casual joke and nothing more. Nor would I ever imply things of an explicit nature given the age of Malefor and Hayze. And believe me, I've seen things like that in other fandoms which imo is inappropriate. Exactly like you said as well in your response below about "ageing up characters". Although I haven't seen Jack's opinion on that (and if you have by all means link it just for ease of mind) but if I was in his shoes I'd feel very uncomfortable with that too.

Also, I haven't really seen people take offense to this as I've seen on DeviantArt in the comments that people do ship them together but this is purely based on my observation and nothing else.

It's all good though, I get where you're coming from and thank you for reminding us all to air on the side of caution.

Young Hayze did have a forked tongue, too, as shown just before he used his powers against Vitreus.

From the looks of things, whenever a dragon's tongue is fully shown, it appears to be forked. Malefor was an expection though.

That's the case for a lot of people who's fame starts as children. At some point the parents stop caring about their kid's wellbeing and focus all their energy on making making sure they maintain that fame. Because if they don't? Then all the perks the parents have disappeare

Same sort of situation here. If Malefor isn't pushed to become the perfect weapon the council loses the power they've gained

It's also just not easy being famous. It takes a mature mind to handle all those eyes on you, and if it happens too early, a kid will develop unhealthy coping mechanisms a lot easier than an adult that's more prepared for the attention, even caring and well meaning parents can fail here if they aren't experienced in being famous themselves because they won't know how to help.

It's probably going to be the latter. This story seems to pretty clearly demonstrate that, while the first dark dragons may have been born of corruption and bloodlust, they eventually settled out as just another type of dragon. Their powers, after all, aren't inherently evil, they (assuming their origin is even true in this version of the universe) just have an unfortunate history.

Oh they definitely aren't. The nobles probably looked at their situation and thought "hmmm, we are losing our profits and power, how can we get that back? I know! The dark dragons look different and dangerous, why don't we find a way to exploit people's mistrust and fear of them for our own gain?" Then went about stirring up trouble and pinning it on the dark dragons

Plus, since they now have a walking WMD their positions are even more secure. People did it in WW one and two after all

Are they being told to evacuate for some reason or another?

I believe them to be Frostspears because both of them seem to have a necklace like Frosun, and it seems they're lounging in an area with floating ice crystals. Perhaps VIP areas for the particularly wealthy? Frosun and Isrind certainly fit that demographic, along with the rest of their clan.
