Yeah it’s weird
I’m on the spectrum as well though, so maybe normal folks don’t find it weird
Funnily enough animals like dogs, cats, and primates feel the same way about eye contact as we aspys do
It's all good, I'm on the spectrum too. Believe me, I know what you mean.
Aspy buddies!
One of the questions I was asked during the test, was “does the phrase ‘I’ve got you under my skin’ make you uncomfortable”
Such an odd question
But yes it does
I just realised you were talking about Styrmer
I myself was born with Asperger's syndrome and still have my struggles with it, but alot of my symptoms I've grown out of, many I did so without even consciously doing so.
So that's actually really cool
We get our first dragon on the spectrum
I love the representation this author brings
Yes, it does seem indicated that Styrmer was autistic.
and on that same note, the author himself is confirmed ot be an aspy too
He admits this
That's believable.
A non-autistic person I don't think would conceive of doing such an elaborate fanfiction series for Legend of Spyro in this manner.
Probably also explains why he has such an incredible attention to detail
both in his writing and art
Yeah I was thinking that
His artstyle has certainly improved overtime.
Definately has
One thing I've definitely made excellent progress on without even knowing it is since my teens I've grown to know to make eye contact and not be so averse to it.
Thanks.
I still can’t make eye contact with anyone I deem as superior to me
But I can glance at people I like, like my family
Yeah I think if we want to talk about ASDs further we shouldn't derail the DI thread, and instead if it has to do with the lore, like Styrmer, put it here, but if not, then... #💬general_offtopic
Oh right
New page!

And Jack's description related to Tordner's demands to his son, a sad reminder of how it was back then for humanity too
well alrighty then
Honestly, this is turning out a bit better than I would have expected
(partly because I've been low-key hoping they'd get Lyner and Auralis together, despite his protests. I honestly believe they're a pretty good match, personality-wise, or at worst still better than most alternatives cough "Icarius" cough)
Yeah, from the side stories and still images, Auralis is a definite match
Yeah, I just want good things for Auralis, and honestly, who wouldn't?
General Tordner is addressing Lynerius. This is a continuation of a conversation which began on the previous page
Least the Council didn't appreciate Isrun and Frossar's escalation of the meeting, but apparently it's a common thing for her to insist she's innocent, like many corrupt officials
That atleast makes the council neutral on the matter, I understand why they demanded Lynerius be punished for his violent disruption, but they did take mind to Frossar's transgression, and if Tordner is saying the punishment is adequate then... that speaks volumes of how considerate the council also was to the Stormbringers.
I smell a quiet outburst coming.
Silent treatment, or will he tell Tordner what to do with himself?
Daddy Tordner laying down the law
And of course Isrun being the corrupt bitch politician that she is is feigning innocence. I hope we get to see to what extent she and her family were punished.
transfiguration magic
I don't get it.
It's a silly pun where the dragon says "well" as in "well what now?" While the dragon they are talking to is replaced with an image of a literal well
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
Now it all makes sense

Yes, it’s quite goofy
New page!

Some tenderness from Tordner, that's a nice surprise.
In a case of emotional conflict, too, a key thing that helps characters feel human.
Well these are dragons we're talking about but you know what I mean, they seem believable as people.
He's torn between having to be hard on his son for his behavior during the council and his impatience with him having children, and him feeling the pain on behalf of his son, who was just punished and had his adoptive kid ripped from him, there seems to be a little bit of apology in it.

Poor baby is so tired. I can imagine..
Yeah especially after all of that man
Ice in the final panel...
Wait, Tordner showing some actual compassion?
Call me surprised.
Also definately worth noting.
That's going to be in the next page for sure.
Is it?
I have a feeling it will
Watch it being a Frostpear Assassin that ends up killing Lynerius
Making that the last time he and Hayze see each other
Best I can tell, that’s just a cluster of crystals. Appears to me that the image is of a roof-window/ skylight, and those crystals are chandelier for lighting the room
Also I just realized that what Lynerius said is one of the phrases present on this art https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-2023-943064534
The first one, top left
"Do you want my surrender?"
Good pick up there.
New DI page! (not april fools)
https://www.deviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-112-956181014
There's a timeskip, they're adults now.
Young adults at that.
Looks like Vitreus is sad, he deep down regarded Hayze as a friend in spite of it all, he was just acting out because of how his family acts and what they taught him.
No theyre still teens. They’re talking about last night. Some of them saw Lyn’s lightning show when he was angry at the council meeting, plus Incendis trying to get a rise out of Vitreus for being beat by Malefor
The Grape of Legend.
They look considerably different from chapter 2.
Jack did an artistic upgrade during Chapter 2, I noticed that too
Comparison, you can see differences with Vitreus and his scar after start and near the end of Chapter 2
https://www.deviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-34-914174048
https://www.deviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-93-943992781
Yeah it's definately not a timeskip
It wouldn't make sense for a timeskip and for them to be talking about the confrontation in the Council Room from last night.
Yeah I see it now, nevermind.
Wonder if the flight will notice Hayze missing
They definitely will, Vitreus might even mention it, if he's not too shook by what transpired.
I thought they were older too lol, it's because we rarely see the red one
Oh she looks cool.
Story behind image is very dark, would not recommend reading if you’re squeamish
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/DI-A-Marriage-Into-Warfang-957031335
well heck 😨
Damn, colors threw me off.
That's Icarius
yeah, it's pretty dark
Icarius looks totally badass though.
In terms of design.
...And apparently he's a psycho bastard, sorta like Scions Aether's Frostir, but bigger.
Even going as far as to... do something I will not say here.
Scary part is Icarius is ruthless in nature and makes no attempt to hide it. Basically Aurelis’s father tried to wed her off to this guy, but luckily didn’t work
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Icarius-941195519
Mhm.
I'll just put it in spoilers, and call a spade a spade to sum it up. ||The dude's a rapist.||
Damn, there is a lot of lore going on for this. I realised they had a website but I didn't realise that they just had google docs of pages as well
Yes, there are a good number of side stories, in addition to all the lore, background and world building.
Until recently, the author has been reformatting the index of said stories, the page linking to them was down for a while
Some of the stories were done by Dragonoficeandfire, and some of the story supporters from the DI discord
Is there anyway of finding all the lore easily in one place? Cause it'd be interesting to read it all but it seems that its spread across many DA uploads and the website
The website
Several of the stories (including this one above, I believe) either were, or currently are, being rewritten
Oh wait no I am blind. I cant read a url correctly
I thought it was split across different things like DA but then I just realised the DA link takes you to a part of the website
I can definitely say this series has definitely given me quite a bit of inspiration
Wouldv'e thought theyd link that page to either Auralis' or Icarius' page
Their pages have been down for a while. There was a big shift, here several weeks ago, where all fan characters were migrated off-site to Google docs, since the author doesn’t have time to manage them all. During the process, a handful of official side characters, namely the Tempest Reign royalty, had their pages hidden. Presumably they are being revised and will be back up eventually
Ah ok, thanks for the heads up
There’s a surprisingly large amount of info and backstory for the whole family. I’m a bit sad they’ve been down for so long; I’m rather interested in one of Auralis’ brothers, I think it was “Australus”, but I have to wait for the pages to come back up so I can read up on him again…
It is a very realistic depiction of a situation like that
Usually media goes down the violent route, but it isn’t always that way
The story hits quite close to home, as I’ve been in a situation like that, and also told it was “my fault” x.x
That's absolutely terrible... Listen, if there's any advice I can give you, and everyone else who's gone through trauma comparable to that... I know it's easy for me to say because I haven't been there, but just know that you shouldn't be ashamed for having survived what happened to you.
It's the person who did that to you that should be feeling shame.
And the fact that you were told that just... drives home how evil that person really is. Because evil is a real thing.
My god it's bad enough the attempt that Icarius made, but Auralis being forced by her own father to apologize for turning him down? That's just a fistful of salt on the wound.
Icarious's older brother, Undacus, has to go out his way to control his younger brother's misdeeds every time too
He's literally his brother's keeper, as the wiki stated
I'd hope he did, but he didn't seem the type to feel that kind of thing.
I found out later I wasn't the first, either, nor the last
That's the real sad part, you're dealing with someone who has no empathy, conscience isn't a thing to people like him.
He even said he would take me to court for defamation if I told anyone
Didn't stop me though, I had evidence, I told the police
It's not defamation if he actually did do it and you could prove it.
He was just trying to scare you into submission, and I'm glad you saw through it.
We better not talk about it too much here, I feel it's a bit mature
My messages are open though, if you want to know more. I find it a bit therapeutic to talk about at times
And thank you for being supportive
Yeah, you're right, was gonna say myself.
Also, anytime, you have a whole community here for you to reach out to.

Vitry nooooo 😢
Woooow… so the only reason Vitreus was kept in his flight was so his father would keep tabs on Hayze through his son. And the moment Hayze is no longer there, he sees about transferring Vit to another flight that’s associated with clans suitable to Frossar’s tastes…
Yeah, that would appear to be the case.
It makes sense, but that doesn't mean I have to like it 😒
Vitreus literally grew up with his flight too
Interesting, though, how Frossar blames Lynerius for the Council's decisions
Like, not even Tordner or the Stormbringers in general
specifically Lynerius who, by the way, definitely didn't get his own way by the end of things
And he doesn’t even curse Malefor for burning him
Oh yeah, that's also true
so far, nobody this chapter has even mentioned Malefor, which I find surprising, all things considered
Malefor is, at the end of the day, a pawn to pretty much everyone. They all want to use him for their own benefits cause he is "the dragon of legend"
Every clan can benefit off him or shape him and for now they return to their petty interclan squabbles instead
And worse part is Frossar very likeky won’t even talk to his son much after this. It’s mentioned the only reason he and Vitreus talk to one another is when the subject is about Hayze
All things considered, that's probably for the best, assuming it gives Vitry space to think for himself and become his own person...
That said, it's still pretty sad
Well, if he's going somewhere his prick of a dad picks out he very well could end up just like him
Unless yesterday’s events and meeting really shook him up, which looked like it did
Rejected by his birth mother since he’s not her real son (Vitreus was the result of a contract union between different clans), attacked by his murderous older brother, used as a tool by his father and grandmother to testify against Hayze and the Stormbringers, and now being forced to transfer to a clan-only flight next year just because Hayze will no longer go there
I hope Isolda does something

Classist, yeah.
But yeah, I can see this definitely laying the foundation for Vitreus turning on his family.
Oh that's kickass.
Who's that at the top? I know it's not Lynerius.
What I want to know is what Lyn's brother, Styrmer looked like.
That is Tordner's younger half-brother, Tormer. He is the general of this regiment
"Featuring a future planned/likely event - Raii's promotion to Commander."
So the "First Division General" that Tordner mentioned when he was chewing out Lynerius?
most likely
It appears, however, that Tordner and Tormer are good friends and trust each other. Official orders from one could just as easily have come from the other, I should think
Yeah.
They're very close knit brothers.
Looking through the all characters glossary, I noticed the name "Sakurai".
So it seems we have Japanese influenced cultures in the lore, too.
That's very likely to be a fan character. I believe that naming rules are a bit more loose for them...
DI website also has a huge list of fan characters from the DI discord too
Yeah DeviantArt link being dicky again.
So I put the link and then the image.
Yeah it's really cool.
Frossar's hate boner is so massive for Lyn.
Wouldn't it be really funny but also messed up that he secretly loves him? 😄
PLEASE DON'T MAKE THAT A THING!
I WAS KIDDING!
Like father like son.
please don't make this a thing
Which is you apparently? XD
Please don't joke about it. I enjoy this story for what it is, and I'd prefer to avoid all the excessive "shipping" from the fans. I know it happens, but I don't usually want to hear about it. 😅
Please and thank you 🙂
Yeah, it's dumb.
I can still imagine there's an underlying guilt in Levina and Tordner about Styrmer's death, and that Lynerius and his siblings resent their father for sending him into service when he wasn't cut out for it.
It’s possible. I can’t comfortably predict how Tordner feels about Styrmer’s death, but it’s fairly well documented that the others aren’t happy about it
Lynerius even flinching at his mother nodding to him and his memory.
That image does hint at something. Raii is Lyn's second in command, so if Raii is being promoted to commander and he's still within the same unit since Tormer is the general, either he's being given his own unit or something has happened to Lyn.
Mhm, the absence of Lynerius despite Raii's presence could be taken as a bad omen.
Mind you, this is a 'future' event. We still don't know when this event will actually occur.
Always nice to see how much Master Therris cares for Hayze
Also encouraging to see the others will miss him too, even as sad as it is
Even Terrin is a little sad by the news, and she’s been scared to connect with Hayze since he scarred Vitreus in self defense
That makes it sting how much they actually liked him and he wasn't marginalized, he just felt it because he knew the Frostspeares hated him.
Look carefully at Vitreus' face.
It looks like he's not just sad, heartbroken even, it looks like there's even some anger in his eyes, the way his brow is furled.
He not only feels guilty for how he treated Hayze when Hayze cared about him, but is heartbroken over losing his lifelong friends including him, overwhelmed by the incident at the council, but also a part of him is angry at his father and council for ripping the people around him away from him, people that didn't treat him like dirt like his family does.
Also "The elder guardians were so impressed by him, he will now be taught alongside Malefor himself" Now that's some sugarcoating if I ever saw it.
She likely had to twist the truth as a way to not tell what actually happened
Her eyes and heart know that she was made aware of what happened
The truth being too hurtful to stomach for them because they're still young.
Look how bad it hurt Vitreus.
Terrin has gotten quite the nice tail plume!
Indeed, she does have quite the floofy tail
I love this comic so much 😩
It's great, it's the cream of the crop with regards to the concept of fanfiction, which is otherwise mostly blah.
The main character, Hayze, isn't a Gary Stu, he earns what admiration he does get from his peers, he's... never really been interested in romance, he has his skills, but he also has his struggles and is marginalized to an extent because of who and what he is. His personality is believable because he picks it up from his caretaker.
The worldbuilding is deep and inspired, as it takes cues from ancient civilizations and their practices, plus the whole clan system.
Looks like he's got a cozy new home, for as much as it's practically a prison for him.
I guess a gilded cage is still a cage.
And no sign of lashes on him
They could've promptly healed him, too.
Indeed. I can't say I'm too surprised, but I am relieved. Whether he was healed immediately after, or perhaps never lashed at all, either case I take as a good sign
what a goober

It is interesting that the Ancestor's Temple is the prison.
Even though it's not designed for that.
I do like this though, and out of the sake of nostalgia, I'm looking forward to seeing how the temple is before how it became in TLOS.
Plus I'm keen to see if there's already a Malefor statue erected yet
This is not the same temple
Am I the only one thinking of how easy Hayze could escape through that window?
I see guards standing out on the pillars, so...
The Ancestor Temple is a temple in Warfang
Hmmm, if he tried to escape it is possible the guards would snatch him up, or kill him if he tried.
But then where is the ancestor temple we went to in TLOS?
If nothing else, by the time he reaches the open field.
I'm confused.
The Dragon Temple is on another continent in the LOS canon
In DI's world map, the Dragon Temple is in Titan Fields
https://www.deviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-World-Map-History-911779390
I predict the Ancestor Temple is the temple that Malefor will uproot from Warfang and repurpose it as his Lair that we see in DOTD. Since he did attack Warfang as soon as he returned and uprooted parts of the city as a symbol of his dominance
Ah good point
And that's what he did.
Which would be appropriate for where this story is taking place
which means we are going to see Malefor here.
Of course, they mentioned that he'd be locked in the Temple, with his only training buddy being Malefor.
Yeah Malefor resides at the Ancestor Temple, and now Hayze does too
Hayze is basically under house arrest at the clingy kid's home.
I'm also curious to see Amberius' story in all of this too.
A clingy kid who happens to have one of the classiest pads in town.
The parralels with his relationship to Malefor do bare a striking similarity to Spyro and Ignitus
from what we've seen so far
Although it's not just Amberius, it seems Malefor has multiple mentors.
Yes and chances are we will see others
but I have a feeling that Amberius is probably the closest.
Now obviously Amberius is not Ignitus but the similarities are there.
And that's definately intentional
I predict he's a distant ancestor
Oh I'm not just predicting it
I'm banking on it.
He looks WAAAAAAAAY close to Ignitus' appearance
Again though, it's intentional
And I'm all for it
Here's the City map btw, which includes the Ancestor Temple
https://www.deviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/DI-Warfang-City-Map-948696718
I do like how straightforward it is. 😄
I honestly was concerned it would be this intricately detailed map
But no, it's "Big Shell here, now I split this up into different portions. Notable buildings marked here."
The comic's take on the continent where DOTD takes place (Warfang Mainland)
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/DI-Warfang-Mainland-Map-948696661
What are they talking about?
If they're talking about the time skip, it's already proven that what happened with the council meeting was just yesterday. And there's no time skip mentioned on the latest page of Hayze and the Ancestor Temple, like the other when we first see the teenage Hayze
He didn't get the 40 lashes yet...... 😨
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-116-958886363
I have a feeling they'll forego the lashes.
How many did his father used to give him? Trying to get a perspective on the severity
As a child, Hayze was given a few lashes for using his element. We don’t know how many, but they weren’t severe enough like 20 or 40 lashes
Curious, does Jordhim have some sort of garment covering his right eye?
also, I'm with you guys, they'll build up to it but he won't get any lashes.
I think there will be an intervention of some sort.

He gonna be tall boi
obligatory height chart
YO!
That silhouette looks sick!
smol goober hayze
new page is up, but eh forgot how to link
I got it.
Yep.
Hayze was spared punishment.
I mean, he's still held in the Ancestor Temple, but it looks like they'll atleast make his involuntary stay pretty chill.
I can't imagine how giddy Malefor must be to have Hayze as his new in-house neighbor.
Least that ice hag won't know
Yeah lol!
Sadly, like I said, a gilded cage is still a cage.
Yall guessed it lol
I have mixed feelings because on one hand I want that cold, decrepit bitch to go pound sand but at the same time we have Griffin voicing her and I thoroughly enjoy her work on her role and want to hear more of it.
Yeah Griffin does a good job. The whole Frostspear clan, in general, are those kind of characters that you really kinda “love to hate”
They are punching bags that we want to continue to be in the story because we know that at some point they are all going to eat humble pie.
Except maybe Frostir. I’m low key terrified of how he’s probably gonna turn out here in another 10-20 years
Kid's definitely gonna have an identity crisis on top or having severe attachment issues
You’re probably thinking about Vitreus. I’m referring to his older brother, that bully Frostir, who has a very high elemental potential, along with a terrifying personality to go with it. 😰
Ah! Yeah no you right, forget the names sometimes XD
It is fun being a bitch xD
Most of the Frostspear family are biased pricks
Lol yeah, but I do give our VAs credit for playing the parts so well!
We need an emoji of Glyde laughing loudly.
Me and Griffin get to be asses.
Frostir is like his Father only far more psychotic.

oh neat
I was just reading up on Incendis' and Kindra's pages earlier today. I hadn't realized that most of the info there was new
Kindras colour palette is probably my least favourite. The colours ever so slightly clash and are a bit hard to look at
I don't mind the tan colour

Old version
New DI page!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-118-959701398
The chain… so familiar!
oooh, that's interesting
"Agreed to have it cast on you?" Hold on, what?
We didn't see that part, how and where would he even agree to that?
they'll probably explain that on the next page
loss of blood, combined with the adrenaline, probably did a number on his memory
Yeah, Hayze mentioned that everything was blurry after the meeting and turmoil last night, he blacked out and doesn't remember if he consented or not to be shackled
I think Jordhin was partially corrupted at some point.
Just realized that the magical chain here may have inspired Malefor to create the snake chains that shackled Spyro and Cynder in DOTD
why does spyro look so goofy in that image
Because DotD was rushed and the model/ animation wasn’t good
I love that theory
Also thank you for always (almost always) posting comic link! This is only place I can check every so often to see when it's been updated haha
Your welcome ^^
(Meanwhile, I keep checking the dA and Comic Fury pages several times a day, and still never see new pages before Moo posts them 😅)
I wonder why he thinks the chain would stop him from climbing a tree
And the thing the older one says as a followup seems quite odd too
Like they threw it in and wanted to explain it but didn’t know how to bring it up
I feel like when he just met the guy would’ve been a more natural timing “what’s this around my neck?” Or something :o
Yes, this scene does seem to be paced a bit strangely, at least as of this page. I suppose it can be difficult, as a writer, to know how/ when to introduce characters or concepts to the story in a way that feels natural and organic…
Now that you mentioned it, it does feel a little odd to only now mention the restraint, but I wouldn’t have seen it that way myself.
Same.
The fact that we saw nothing of the restraint, and how Jordhin tries to say Hayze allowed it to happen when we have no clue of it whatsoever and he doesn't remember anything about it is extremely dubious and makes me wary of Jordhin.
ehh, I'm not concerned about Jordhin personally. I'm more willing to believe that it's just Jack having a little trouble pacing the story/ exposition
I still appreciate that they make the place comfortable for Hayze.
And the fact that he's told he can roam free to some extent and climb the branches of the tree, proves that despite being confined to the temple, it's more than a cut above just a prison.
And he atleast has Malefor as a playmate.
They updated Malefor's ref!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Malefor-915008938
Old version
The dark master himself.
God it's gonna be wild to see this sweet bean change
I understand it and get why but like I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
But won't shock anyone after what he saw and I have a feeling with his fire being red, they're going to treat him different and it's going to show even more to him how much of a pawn he is rather than a person aka dragon
Yeah maybe they’re going to think he isn’t so special anymore, so treat him worse
Because they might be like “oh he’s just a fire dragon”
That’s until he unlocks more elements and surprises them again
Didn’t Malefor in DotD want to destroy the world? It’ll be interesting how the storyteller makes Malefor out to be that way :o
Like, his reasoning
I definitely think that's where this whole thing is gonna go.
It's gonna dig into what made Malefor snap, and turn evil.
Let’s not forget that all the things he did throughout the trilogy was out of his own free will. He embraced the Dark Aether element and didn’t let it corrupt him like it did with Spyro
Yeah it sounded like he just wanted more and more power after realising he could do just about anything
The banishment probably was what pushed him into fighting back
A bit late now, but this was apparently a response to the beginning of Ch. 3
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/mynamewess/art/Everything-is-fine-955088795
Why does Lynerius look chibi, how could you do our guy like that, wess?

That's what I assumed
branch horns
Yeesh discord butchered the quality for these :<
Fr lol
Isrun’s character sheet, the evil ice matriarch hissssss
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Isrun-960674572
Hmm, I always assumed her base colour was white, but after looking back on various pages it seems that she's always been light grey
The way Lynerius clapped back at her when she downtalked him was baller.
"If your heir cannot speak like an adult, then have him be quiet."
"Fuck you."
More funny when she acted like a child herself when Hayze is chosen to be spared and not executed as she wanted
"bite me"
-something I'd never expected to hear from the matriarch of a leading clan during an important council meeting
But something you'd hear from a spoiled b*tch who's never been told 'no' in her entire life
true
That's the thing about their whole clan, they reek of 'pureblood superiority' type of people that think themselves above the rules
well, to be fair that's apparently rather common among most, if not all, of the major clans of Warfang.
It's just that the Frostspears are the most obvious example we have at the moment
And Frostspears have been getting slaps on the wrists for a while
It's the bad bitch herself.
New page!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-119-960904279
And some relief.
Foreshadowing (also the face of deh)
Jordhin has a chain too

Interesting the adult there also has a suppression chain on him :o
Based on Jordhin's comment about their use on "indentured servants and prisoners", I wonder if he falls under the former category in some capacity 🤔
He has a shadowed side...like not the element shadow entirely, but he looks...corrupted somehow, the more I see him. I think he empathizes with Hayze.
That's what I noticed too.
I at first thought it was him showing off a magical illusion of sorts.
But no, Jordhim does indeed bare a chain as well.
looks 'half corrupted' maybe thats why hes stuck there, past experience with dark magic
Another thing: We actually don't know what Jordhim's element is yet either.
Yeah and its really hard to tell. Does give me fire vibes tho
Yeah, I was thinking that as well; dark dragon ancestry is the only way for a fire dragon to breathe green fire
Then again, there’s also green electricity, which derives from mixing with earth; earth being my first assumption, now green electricity would be my second
Oh wow, how did I not notice that?
He does have a dark and corrupted half to his body.
Oooh yeah
I didn’t notice that at first either
I thought he just had wonky horns obscured by a natural shadow
Looks like he had it going on even from the first time we saw him
Maybe the symbol/s on his cloak has a corresponding element symbol?
Updated Frostir ref
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Frostir-931520915
His adult form is giving bad warning signs too
That's gonna be Frostir's new nickname, psycho.
His backstory was updated too
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/characters/frostir
He was sadly doomed from the start
Left unloved during his incubation then his family didn’t attempt to curb his troublesome behavior growing up.
It’s always the animals sociopaths start with before they move on to bigger targets, in this case their fellow dragons…
Well considering these are dragons that are effectively people he didn't really start with animals.
He started with what to him is essentially his "people".
It was mentioned he started killing animals until he got bored and decided to try a fellow dragon
New page!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-120-961225420
He's badass looking is what he is.
Oo
Oooooooooooooh
Look at that psycho. Frostir screams unseltting with his design alone. He's a full-blown psychopath and manipulator.
Interesting....
That explains the blindfold.
He's a mutherflapping hybrid.
I am willing to suspect that with this comes the fact that he has 2 elements too.
Like Hayze though he's had to seal his shadow side or whatever dark element he has.
Hence the collar.
Seems odd for a hybrid to be so perfectly halved in appearance. But it is a fantasy so im probs just being nitpicky xD
Same, but I also also don't begrudge a decision made for dramatic effect as long as it doesn't feel too forced. XD
New DI page! The answer!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-121-961609602
bruh
It is possible that he was the result of a failed experiment regarding infusion of dark powers
But hey interesting that the author also thought about the idea of a natural hybrid wouldnt be a 50/50 in appearance!
Why willingly turn into a dark dragon indeed? 🤔
Something we might find out later
This whole conversation is a convenient exposition so they're probably getting to it.
i knew itttt
Don’t be touching the dark stuff, else your body goes all wonky.
Honestly, I appreciate Hayze's reaction in that 3rd panel. To me he seems pretty upset, I'd guess offended, at the thought of a non-dark dragon choosing to become one willingly. After all the pain he's been through, for what he is, he can't imagine someone else wanting that for themself. 😢
combined with the idea of thinking maybe this dragon was a bad character in the past since the idea of becoming one artificially leads to degradation and insanity (at least thats what we are told. Could be a stretch of truth)
i am very keen to learn more about him

fair
This guy gets it
This is what has me curious.
See I think it was an experiment the Guardians wanted.
The Elders I mean.
They wanted to have a dragon that could master the dark elements on their side.
To use in the war.
Having met the Elders, they are all very pragmatic.
Would have no qualms about using any sort of advantage they could if they can win the war.
Ooooo, another look at the DI cheetahs
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destinty-Intertwined-Cheetah-Base-962167867
Neat
New info added about the DI cheetahs on the Destiny Interwined wiki
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/cheetahs
True
New page!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-122-962666885
So because his corruption process was interrupted, Jordhin didn’t get his dark element and lost his original Earth element. He can’t even use magic and fly anymore
“desperation”? 🤔
Desperation?
Look at his shadow wing
Ooo they added the Corruption magic details on the Destiny Intertwined wiki
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/dragons-magic
Corruption is the process of turning a dragon of natural element into one of the dark elements. This magic can be cast on oneself, or on another. When a Proficient casts the Corruption spell, their magic is depleted entirely. Casting the spell is relatively quick and is finished before the corruption process actually starts. The corruption itself is 'self sufficient' and requires no further magical input, which allows self-corruption.
The actual corruption can take up to one or two excruciating hours, in which the dragon is physically deformed and undergoing rapid, painful growth. There is no control over this transformation, which can cause undesirable results that may cost the dragon their life.
The Corruption magic is strictly forbidden magic, and kept far out of reach from the public. Keeping any instructions on Corruption without permission from the governing body is considered treason and punishable by execution. Planning, attempting, or performing the Corruption is also punishable exclusively with execution.
That is interesting.
But I'm curious how losing both elements caused Jordhim to lose his ability to fly.
I don't know how that works.
Look at his wing
being stopped mid-transformation torn the membrane so he cannot sustain flight
Oh.
I see it now
But then that would mean he was already at the meeting at the Temple.
He didn't just fly in when Amberius noticed him
Interesting.
I saw a lot of comments under the page theorizing that this was connected to Cynder which would make sense to me really
The alternation of the body you cant control- Gaul cast that spell onto her as a lil derg and it caused her to grow unnaturally, wing membranes being chewed some but not enough to where she couldn't fly
Sense Jord's magical transfer was stopped, it likely chewed up their wings and then there was no possible way for the curription to grow the membrane back some or however they'll explain it working in their story
It's really interesting
Interesting point there.
Unlike Jordhim, Cynder's corruption was fully completed.
She also grew and aged faster than a typical dragon because of it.
What's also worth noting that even though she was "restored/purified" after being defeated by Spyro's Aether Rage ability, she still remained as a Black Dragon.
Yes, her sanity and conscious was returned but she still remained the same colour. On top of that, although it's never specified how, she was able to access 4 elements like Spyro as well. I know it was for the sake of allowing her to be on equal footing with Spyro with the Co-Op mechanic in DOTD but still. If only we'd gotten a proper explanation for that.
Yeaaaaah. Though I'd argue her sanity wasn't fully intact- considering every day she had to be reminded of what she had to do as a dark master's puppet, and I'm fairly certain in one of the Eternal Night games. GBA - she mentions a voice calling to her
I'd imagine being corrupted would do nasty things to a dragon even if it's Reversed
Which brings another good topic up actually
Purification and how that works. I wonder if it will be explored at all in this universe
Me tooooo very much
There's a high chance and all sense Malefor seems to be able to switch this on and off in Cynder in LOSDOTD
And it was his power to Gaul to cast the spell
Spyro is the one whom purified Cynder so it's highly purple dragon involved
For certain circumstances
So in other words, Hayze is pretty much expendable. Useful only for Malefor to awaken more elements then tossed away or worse when that happens
It’s highly possible. Since everyone saw that Malefor’s Fire element awakened at last but in Hayze’s defense
But they may be discriminated for it
Indeed so there is definately a massive drawback
He is such a puppy at heart.
What is it one of you said? Like a golden retriever in dragon form XD
I'm also digging the look of manic excitement Mally has XD
possibly me
Yup!
Malefor mood right now
what a crazy goober

That would make a cute emote
It already is, actually - over on the DI fandub server. That’s where I got it lol

About time!
Man, I love bubbly Malefor. I'm going to hate seeing him go bad.
He's genuinely adorable.
I mean, it's not impossible that the comic is painting a somewhat reversed picture where the status quo is the bad thing, and Malefor will lean into shadowy magic to fight the 'good' fight against it
He bleps
Plate scar?
I think all of us are gonna hate it when he goes full-on Anakin mode.
In tne meantime however....
HERE'S MOAR PUPPY MALEFOR!!!
WHOSE A GOOD BOI? WHOSE A GOOD BOI?
I also love how he's just breathing fire as well in this chapter, just so casual about it.
I wonder where Haze’s plate-scar is?
I thought it might’ve been the lil colour change on his neck, but Malefor has that too so I think that’s just the way the dragons are designed
His neck.
Doesn't look like it's illustrated in the angle of this recent comic.
But yeah it would be where that dickhead Frossar tried to slash his throat.
Here.
And on his updated ref sheet too
https://www.deviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Character-Sheet-Hayze-904884418
I see, it's pretty subtle, definitely not visible from the left hand side.
On top of that I just remembered that in DOTD, the snake tether that Spyro and Cynder were forced to wear would turn invisible unless prompted.
Yeah, or messed with
yep
Since Malefor said he wasn’t allowed to keep his scars, it implies they kept Hazes one on purpose :o
They used the crystals from Hayze's stash when he tried to run. Who knows if they used more or if the healer healed him further
May be that rather than making him keep the scars on purpose, Hayze isn't as important as Malefor so they didn't bother healing them completely
I can see that being the case, yeah
Turns out damaged scales plates can't be fixed with magic
From the official DI site on Dragon Magic Healing
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/dragons-magic
Healing magic has similar limitations as red gems. After too much time has passed, natural healing processes prevent healing magic from working. Neither red gems nor healing magic can regrow missing limbs, missing organs, or fully repair certain damage (brain damage, damage to eyes, damage to reproductive organs, damage to non-living tissue like horns and plates).
so I guess Malefor haven't gotten his plates damaged yet
I know it's not quite on-topic but I went back and watched Skylanders Academy's scenes with Malefor in them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-hEJb298EA&t=626s
I love how goofy he is.
That seems more for #🔷spyro_chat than here, but eh shrugs
Still, seeing Malefor so naive and sheltered in the comic will hurt when he turns into the embodiment of evil we know in TLOS 😭
I'm ready for it....I can take it....
I can can't I?....
Jordhin's character page is up!
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/characters/jordhin
It's particularly interesting, their emotions appear to be stunted but on the contrary it seems Jordhim can still display acts of kindness and compassion.
Seems like the "procedure" didn't make them a full on sociopath or apathetic where they feel no emotions or drive.
Ooo!
Before their Corruption, their height was 5.9m (19'4). Their change in size was gradual throughout the corruption—had it succeeded, they would have reached 7.1m (23'4).
Interesting
So maybe their height is now stunted
Finally
This is really interesting of a first propper interaction involving malefor here. Theres some aspects of him being unhinged already (wanting to keep wounds, already having violent thoughts of attacling others etc) but its so subtle it can also be seen as just excited garble.
If that is the case the writing of malefor being already somewhat unstable is very clever
TIL I’m unhinged
Reminded me of the "stairs" in the Pokémon Mewtwo movie
lol poor Jordhin having to walk up those stairs

Malefors face when he’s told they’re not going up the stairs lol
Jordhim aside, the idea of seeing the Guardians sparring each other excites me.
Also YAY I'M BACK!
Just came here to say hi, i didn't even know there is an underground community on our discord lmaooo, 1619 messages? DAMN haha! Have fun guys ❤️

Yeah, it's been a good time. We eventually started a fandub of the series, which we promptly moved to a new server, but we still stick around here to continue the discussion as new pages come out
So we don't leave out the other folks who want to read but don't voice act or haven't gotten to audition for our project.

hehehe
The Cult of Hayze.
Welcome to our cult-I mean ummm....DI Secret Society.
Alright it's a cult, who am I kidding? 😄
But the good kind.
Yeah it's been a great run thus far and the fandub we are doing has really taken off.

More of Malefor just being a puppy.
Amberius is Dad material, just like our favourite Fire Guardian. 🙂
I think he'd still be happy even if Malefor hadn't learned fire first.
Who's the Electricity Guardian's name again?
Arcadier
I do like that she is at least acknowledging Hayze's presence.
(I didn't even realise Arcadier was a "she" until we started doing the fandub)
Yeah her gender was revealed in the wiki ^^
It's the scars that threw me off I tell ya 😄
And being atleast somewhat accomodating.
She looks so masculine too x3
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/characters/arcadier
That's what threw me at first, too, when we first saw her in the council scene.
Ooooh she transitioned in her early 20s
She's a beefy gal she is.
Clearly hitting the dragon equivalent of a powerlighting gym. 😄
I really like the Guardian designs, Nivalis in particular has an interesting look about him.
And here's Terrenus (for reference): https://www.destinyintertwined.com/characters/terrenus
He's the only without a portrait on the website except for the page itself.
Also here's what Malefor's Guardians were going to look like based off of old concept art from The Eternal Night:
I'm glad the author changed the Ice and Earth Guardians.
Arcadier was originally male. This was changed as a result of not wanting all the Elder Guardians to be male, despite the source material depicting all of the Elders to be masculine. Arcadier still retained these features and is a rather masculine female. As a nod to her origin, she is in-universe a trans female.
Though she magically transitioned in her early 20s, she presented female with feminine pronouns since before her teens. Her current masculine features do not bother her - her gender incongruence was more of an inconvenience, discomfort - a constant itch. At her transition she finally felt right, and she has never once regretted it. In fact, she barely remembers being born male.
Before her ascension to Guardianhood, she was often confused for a male (due to her chin spikes, which are very uncommon on females - not a result of her birth sex, it was simply a trait of her bloodline and are present on her female descendants). The confusion usually lifted when she spoke - she has a deep but distinctly feminine voice.
It's cool though, I love it.
That explains why the author changed it.
I think about a third of the cast is LGBT at this point.
Rayne - Pan
Hydris - Bi-Curious
Cerau - Gay
Therris - Lesbian
(^Dating Avalis - Pan, Genderqueer)
Quaker and Tecton - Gay
Lynerius - Bi
Tordena - Aroace
Jordhin - Agender
Raii - Gay
Arcadier - Trans
Nivalis maybe as well.
I thought Therris was married?
Does "United" social status mean married in DI?
Cause that's what she is according to her dossier.
“Unified”, actually, but yes. It’s equivalent to marriage in our world
Oh you're right. I didn't read it properly. (This is what happens when you're visually impaired kids).
It’s an easy mistake to make; similar looking words with similar meanings… no worries, friend
New dragon politics page
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/dragons-politics
Artstyle shift again.
The characters look sick. In the complimentary sense.
Vitreus looks very different.
I wonder why the red guy cares
I'm willing to bet that the whole flight cares about Hayze, even though they don't always say so
I think there was always a small amount of dragons friendly with Hayze, they just weren't vocal.
Well Vitreus cared about Hayze too but he was torn between how Hayze treated him, and how his family brainwashed him.
He's been suffering from cognitive dissonance from having the truth about his family shown before his eyes.
While we are relieved to know that Hayze is faring better than expected, Incendis has right to be concerned as he knows somethings up.
Art style shift is pretty nice ngl.
From the image description
Vitreus' horns may look a little different since I have a 3D model reference for them now.
I see, so he has 3D models for his characters as reference.
and environments too I think?
Feel like he mentioned previously that to keep buildings consistent he has them 3D modeled
Smart.
This minor change in art style will be the end of Destiny Intertwined
Nawww.

Nice!

Qeh
Similar energy to this classic
Oh heck, my full-size DI reacts are all on my other computer…
I spent soo much time making custom emojis based on DI, but on another server… This is one of those few times where I miss having nitro, since it’d allow me to use those here lol
My Raii.
So which one is the red one's sister? Cause he mentioned Frosty and his sister didn't care about hayze
Kindra, the orange one.
She's indifferent to it because she generally has an apathetic demeanor anyway.
An indifference that even Incendis is scornful of.
Seems like they're polar opposites in personality
Ah! My people! I'm actually heavily invested in this story and glad to see others are too :>
Same here, I'm so excited to see more of the Temple Guardians!
New page~

The green lady looks very cute there
Love the red feathers
New hatchlings, who deez? 😄
I like the dark grey one with four horns next to the blue one.
They might be fan characters
Yes, generally any background character with a set design (more than just a silhouette) comes from the fans
ah that would explain it.
And there’s a whole lot of them listed on the wiki at the moment
They’re fan characters! The earth dragon with the four horns and orange markings is Yzkila the Slatescale!
Oh my god that guy sounds awesome! Rock solid!
.....I'll see myself out.....
Reading that last bit after the drama that’s gone on in #🔷spyro_chat
Can't be that bad surely.....
Walks into the thread
Shield your eyes

If you've read the comic you'd understand the joke.
I just posted the emoji for the sillies
Every time I think of General Tordner I am reminded so much of this guy:
He is literally Tywin Lannister in dragon form.
Not familiar with him since I haven't watched Game of Thrones.
He's basically ruthless, callous but FAIR.
Still one of the biggest a-holes in the series.
Charles Dance who portrays him does an incredible job.
He only cares about his bloodline and securing a future for his House.
Tordner's a pretty cold hard guy, him being a military leader and all, he too has a soft spot though, for his son, like any sensible parent.
Yeah Tywin is exactly like that towards his son Jamie Lannister
but not to his other son Tyrion
He'll also achieve victory by any means necessary
He's all about results above all else.
Here @limpid wolf here's a highlight reel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzqqNDDEndc&t=4s

This video contains best moments of Tywin Lannister.
Such a breath of fresh air to see other people who don’t blindly hate ol’ Tord. He’s tough cause he’s gotta be, plus his momma raised him that way. He’s the patriarch of the military clan. He’s flawed but he’s not this sinister, conniving man. And neither is his son, for that matter
Agreed. He’s flawed person, but a well-written character.
And he’s by no means irredeemable either
Yeah, he's complex.
He's abrasive, he's harsh, but he does have a heart, his hardness is because of how he was raised; to be a warrior, strong and disciplined, his son as well.
He's alot like Stoick the Vast from HTTYD, he's an old fashioned tough and rugged leader and warrior, and he has his expectations, but he also has humanity.
Tordner and him both have their moment where they're infuriated with their sons but even in their anger they show their compassion toward their child and guilt over them being pained.
Stoick disowning his son only to recoil from the hurt of knowing what he did to his child, Tordner realizing how hard he was on Lynerius even when he was hurting for what was essentially his adoptive child and becoming heartbroken that he added to his son's pain.
This is the face of a father who realized just how much this world is breaking his son down, and he himself is powerless to stop it. Instead, he is forced to uphold it.
Exactly.
He's compelled by his code and duties to hurt his son in the name of the order he himself is subject to.
That's what's to love about Tordner and how he's written, he's emotionally complex alot like a real person.
Absolutely as far as complex is concerned.
That's why I look at him similar to Tywin
He does care about his son but he's also about ensuring his bloodline survives.
Similar to Isolda (the Ice Elder Guardian) although she's far more ruthless.
You sure you have the right character?
Isolda is the kind and sweet aunt that Vitreus has.
I think you're talking about Isrun, the Frostspear Matriarch.
The only soft side Isrun showed was naming Vitreus after her deceased husband because she was sad over his death, even though Isrun walked on him and treated him like dirt.
She otherwise is cold and distant to her kin, at best such as in Vitreus' case, manipulating them to further her wants, or those of the Frostspear clan as a whole.
Oh god, yes! That's the one I meant! 😄
Sorry, they both start with I and S okay? 😛
Yes Isolda is the good one, nobody hurts her!
Isrun can burn though.
Yeah no, Isrun and Tordner contrast alot, and it shows, Tordner hates that ice-cold cunt for good reason.
Tordner is a hardass, but he also knows when to be orderly and formal like at the council, but he does care about his family and clan, and their image and prosperity.
Isrun just oozes with malice and contempt, she's standoffish, ruthless and motivated by keeping her clan's influence and power even if it means using her own family members as tools, to which they are either complicit in it like Frossar and Skadin (Albeit he does so reluctantly, he feels trapped), or don't care. The only exception being Isolda, she's the odd one out of the Frostspears.
Vitreus was along for the ride, too, but he was only a child and he was brainwashed for a time, but the glaring display of the reality of how his family acts is causing him to also turn against their ways, seeing the compare and contrast of how Isolda treats him compared to how the rest of his clan does.
Finally.
Vitreus’s element got stronger… 👀
tfw a new chapter launches. The DI Community:
COME AND GET IT!!!
Damn Vitry is strong.
One of the nearby students really said "Get him, Frostspear!"
WOW
Something tells me he ain't going back to that class
He's pretty much burning any bridges he has with his flightmates with the fight he's in right now
Yup
It's almost like growing up being raised by cold narcissist sociopaths doesn't create a healthy child :3
I guess we'll find out after the fight is over.
Seriously loving this comic so far man 💛
Welcome aboard. It's a very good fancomic.
Yeah loving the story so far, been watching DragonofIceandFire for years and just loving thier new artstyle for this comic.
I've been watching it for a while now, I love how it's coming along!
I've been a huge TLoS fan since 2011
New DI page! Fighting halted but Quarris got cut
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-133-971655765

Chad Quarris
Yep.
tis the look of shock and regret
When the cheery, goofy guy is upset with you, you know you've screwed up.
Gotta love seeing Quarris breaking up the fight and grounding the two to just talk it out instead of tearing each other apart
Gives me Terrador vibes
Vit still looks like he's going to snap at someone.
To be fair he didnt really do anything but was mostly provoked so I wouldnt be suprised if he tells pinky here to shut it
He still might have maimed Incindy.
I think he might have a consequence to face after this, lashing out is never a good look in public and Vits family will not be happy with him
Assault is also a pretty serious crime, even for a clan dragon so long as there are witnesses.
Exactly
At the end of the day Incendis had a valid reason to be upset, regarding Hayze's disappearance, and all he did was target Vitreus to expel his anger on. Because why not?
Vitreus was taught to hate Hayze because of what he was, but he's also breaking the brainwashing that his clan imposed on him, and while he was there when Hayze was being implicated for a crime, he was used, and his hand in wanting Hayze punished was negligible.
But Incendis doesn't know that, as far as he knows he was in on incriminating Hayze, and his first thought was that Vitreus was willing. Thinking that not only did he act on his prejudice, but out of desperation for familial acceptance.
Vitreus snapped because he knows what was done to Hayze, and he doesn't like it, he's starting to see what his family is really like, and yet Incendis still implicates him as acting in tow with his clan's ways. Vitreus was enraged and indignant about being accused of being no different from the rest of his clan, who he's now growing to resent because they're basically taking all his lifelong friends away from him, the only people that actually treated him halfway right.
Sad to see but he did lash out first and his actions will mostly shame his families reputation and hel be punished for even attacking over an insult
I mean I get why he did but it wasnt justified
If anything it riled both them up more and now both boys will probably get a talking to but Vit will probably get worse from his Dad
I don't know, his father is too biased and vain to actually discipline his son and will probably side with his clan and downplay it no matter what.
Less about how much he cares for Vitreus and more about his corruption and wanting to keep his clan's image spotless regardless of the glaring flaws in character they have.
Well we havent seen much of Vits family except a few of them, his Dad will probably make a fuss of it
This is the first time Vits lashed out as well so who knows how his family will react to this
Details on assault and slander from the Politics page
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/dragons-politics
Oooh yeah Vit might be in serious trouble
But isn't incendis clanless?
Yea
Then if he is, he seems to be what the page describe as "lower class" and in that case, with vity being from a high clan, the frostspears, the case will be likely put on hold indefinitely
So i dont think vity risk anything
Well, regarding the law of course
In regard of his clan however...
It will mostly be his father who will act, or his grandmother (i think), just to put an "exemple" if i mau say so
If anything he might get lashes but wel see
Vit will get lashes at the worst.
Nothing more.
His family is too high up the Warfang hierachy.
Especially with that bitch of a grandmother of his as the Elder Guardian.
slight correction on your terminology here:
Isrun is not an Elder Guardian (for ice, Nivalis is), but rather is matriarch of a leading clan. The clan heads and Elder Guardians are all members of the Warfang Council, however, so I see where the confusion tends to come from
But yes, your point does still stand. Vitry's family is quite high up, and in fact said grandmother is Chief of the Guard, so there's very little chance of his being punished harshly (unless they really want him to be).
I’m more worried about Incendy tbh, he’s facing a possible tongue removal, or worse, for badmouthing and fighting a Frostspear
Too many witnesses saw Vitry lash out first. Trying to punish Incindy might result in a backlash that the Frostspears don't need or want.
Vitry isn't well liked among his own clan anyway. I suspect they'll turn him over to the temple to avoid a public show trial.
Possibly, but the Frostspears are the guard clan, so it’s very possible that Incendis will be the one punished. In the clan’s eyes, it could be that this lowly clanless was asking for a fight by agitating a Frostspear to the point of retaliation. Clanless have zero to no political power, and a majority of the clans would prefer to stay in good graces with the leading ice clan
Just gotta keep in mind that clan dragons are way more powerful in this corrupt society, and have been known to smash eggs just because they didn’t like them, which is an illegal activity. Not only that but Incendis’s parents aren’t… particularly fond of him or his sister
Except for the Stormbringers, who are a military clan.
They make it no secret they detest the Frostspears.
True, Stormbringers are loud and proud about their hatred for the Frostspears LOL
But I doubt they’d advocate for Incendy sadly :<
It helps they're warriors and soldiers, too, so they also got that, on a physical and personality level over the dragon equivalent to crooked cops.
That time Lynerius told Isrun "Fuck you" was legendarily savage.
Aye, I think it was stated somewhere on the wiki once that the average soldier could beat a guard ezpz. Guards don’t get combat a lot so they’re generally weaker/less elementally trained
All the more explanation for Frossar being a coward picking on Hayze, who is smaller than him.
Thinking about the Council scene and them holding back Lynerius when he flips because Frossar is hurting Hayze, as much as it's completely understandable why he does it, it reminds of those videos where in real life in a courtroom, which, the council meeting is a rough equivalent to... They have to keep it orderly and facilitate due process.
But in these videos there's men who attack the defendant/accused in the courtroom over their crimes, mostly people who try to beat up the man who murdered their loved one.
And the police have to restrain, even arrest them for it.
Of course Frossar is an accuser and guard, not a defendant, still, like with the defendants in those videos, no matter how much that person deserves their ass beat they have to keep the courtroom orderly.
Aye, he was throwing logs into an already raging fire and taunting it
But atleast the guardians did order Isrun to beat Frossar's ass for what he did.
And who knows if he was actually punished
Knowing the Frostspears and their nepotistic favoritism it's possible Isrun dismissed Arcadier's command.
Just as the council willingly decided to not give Hayze any lashes.
I'm pretty sure the rest of the council doesn't like the Frostspears either judging by that.
One of the Council members, Wysta, only agrees with Frostspear in council matters because of her own personal bias against Undacus and Tordner
It was the Elder Guardians who decided not to punish Hayze since they feel he was punished enough during the trial
Yeah.
And it's only fair, too, I mean, he was taken away from what was virtually his adoptive father for a somewhat petty reason that was taken more seriously simply because he's a shadow dragon, and he was almost extrajudicially executed/murdered by Frossar.
Its kinda weird how they refer to them as 'Dragon Masters'
Like imagine if we called a group the 'Human Masters'
Just a random thought lul
Not a new chapter but holy shit check out these auction designs the author just brought out.
Well 5 days ago that is.
Terrin but pink
The plot thickens.
Dun dun dun
So the flightmates are well aware about Frostspear and what they’re capable of
Good thing Icendy didn’t lose an eye but still…
I know there's trouble in for Incendis with the Frostspear's in-group bias.
And Vitreus left after hearing more about his clan, wonder where he went…
Poor Vitreus
Vit already feels guilty, he won't sell out Incindy.
Definitely not.
He ran away because he feels he has no one left.
He was used to get Hayze in trouble, the only dragon that actually understood him and showed compassion to him in spite of everything, he realizes his family either uses him as a tool or treats him like dirt with almost no in-between apart from Isolda, and now because of what happened with Hayze, his former classmates who he's being transferred away from, he feels they reject him now for what happened to Hayze, and for starting a fight with Incendis.
As I suspected, he pretty much burned any bridges he had left with his flightmates after that fight and how much Frostspear is feared
I’m hoping that things can be repaired between the flightmates, but sadly I’m not too sure if it can. Even if Vit breaks his vow of silence, there’s no reason for them to even believe him

He's such a dork >w>
Is it just me or does Malefor look rather off-model here
which panel?
Several
Hmmmm... It seems like his horns don't stick up as much as before, but maybe that's just the perspective
Could be that new 3D model technique
Jack tweeked DI Malefor's design
He looked better with taller horns.
Agreed.
Maybe Jack changed it so it makes Malefor look a little more kid like and innocent 🤔
His game form has his horns splitting further out and up and more like a choas star fish
No wait I think I see what hes trying to replicate
So in the cutescenes his horns shape a bit more up when he gets older so maybe he wants to show his age and his horns gradually forming up and around like the story cutescenes used in Eternal Night
Similar to this I believe 🤔
Hmm they were curved a little upwards on his Well of Souls statue too
Oh it has a scar on the left eye! I never noticed that
By far the better statue in Eternal night than in the dragons temple 👌
Am I the only one confused about the 30 years before he hatched thing or is it normal in TLOS for eggs to go that long without hatching?
It's in DI lore
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/dragons-biology
Originally Jared Pullen and the Krome team tossed around the idea that dragon eggs take decades to hatch, so that Spyro being Ignitus' son would be plausible, but it was scrapped and never fleshed out in the end
A: Fun fact about dragon eggs in the Spyro universe - they can take decades to hatch 😉 Longer even... if the time isn't right, they'll incubate safely until a timely opportunity presents itself 😉 The rationale behind Malefor potentially being Spyro's father was plausible, but only if Spyro's egg lay dormant a good while. We reasoned that perhaps Spyro's egg was laid a very long time ago, while Malefor was still free and kicking around. Then it lay still through the time of turmoil and upheaval, and right through the dragon purges until Ignitus released it down river in ANB. It was 'waiting for destiny' to find the time of hatching. Of course this was never fleshed out, and most on the team preferred Ignitus as Spyro's father.
For some reason this reminds me of Dragon Hearts lore or Eragons
Eggs won't hatch until the right time
if he looks slightly different than before it might be due to using 3D models as reference
I'm sorry but that image of Malefor with the fire made me laugh a bit
I literally thought he was smoking a cigar:
..........So that's exactly what I did.
It's perfect!
Little smoker
Can't unsee it now. 😄
Dadada it's the mother fuckin D O double G, Snoop Dogg!
Snoop Dergg*
Watch out now, it's DANKEFOR IN THE ROOM!

Derg with glasses
Derd
Oh cool another bastard to despise.
Nice to see a dragon in actual shades like the moles
Need one with those telescope glasses like what Mason had.
A lil more on the steampunk side.
Yeah true
Another new page! Awwww! 😭

Oh c'mon! I just checked his dA page 5 minutes ago!
2nd is the best
I guess this is a close to a Water "Guardian" as we are going to get considering Water dragons don't have one officially.
Also Therris cradling Hayze = Based.
Adorably based.
By the time TLOS started, only four Guardians remained while the others were killed during the war
I must not remember but when was it mentioned there were more than 4? I thought they always referred to 4 of them
From Jared Pullen's art blog, one sec
Ahh
The story went thusly, that back during the 'Ape Wars' Ignitus was a General who led a company of War Dragons into battle against the forces of the Dark Master. After a fierce struggle in which many Guardians were lost, Ignitus' forces were driven back until only the four Guardians remained.

Gosh i wish they had more time
same honestly
there's soo much lore and worldbuilding that got left out of the final games. It's really a shame
Even gameplay. Damn you activision
oh yeah, the gameplay is by no means perfect
(I'd argue it's actually quite boring and repetitive, but I've never been that big on beat 'em ups anyway)
Its wild that the art direction and music are able to carry the first 2 haha. As a kid i loved beat em ups. Kind of still do, but they certainly can be made better than tlos
agreed
Only the 4 primal elements have guardians, the others are derivatives.
The primal and derivative element lore is from DI
I was mainly talking about the LOS canon
Executives: "This franchise is popular. I want you to make a new entry."
"Okay."
"But you only have a year."
"We need at least two, preferably three."
"No, you can do it on one."
Game flops.
Executives: "The franchise is bad, it's your fault, and we're retiring it."
In essence the main vicious cycle that made me lose faith in most AAA gaming.
Executives only green light "safe" projects guaranteed to make money when most of the failed franchise sequels and experiments only failed because they were choking and stunting the growth from day one in the first place.
Oh wow
Like I know Jared did say there was a Wind Guardian and supposedly Guardians of the same elements Cynder used.
But still, that's really interesting.
It also stands to reason that there were other Guardians of the same elements as the Guardians we know.
i.e. Fire Guardians, Earth Guardians etc.
This would make sense as no doubt dragons were very much thriving as a species until the Ape War
Make sense since the Chronicler said Malefor also learnt wind
New wiki page on the mentioned Scions brother who disappeared
https://www.destinyintertwined.com/characters/zseurael
Yes, I saw that one
Low-key concerned about him showing up again and being a problem
He definitely looks evil.
OOOOOO FEMALE CHRONICLER DRAGON!
https://www.fxdeviantart.com/dragonoficeandfire/art/Destiny-Intertwined-Page-138-975683055
...welll fun
I'm guessing this is Jack's take on the Chronicler-like dragon we see in that flashback in the game
perhaps...
On further inspection, she does not resemble him quite enough to convince me 🤔
But I do certainly see the similarity
May be related to the Chronicler, or a descendant
I'm now wondering if Master Eurune has a (twin?) brother
Geh
Hayze is ready to simp.
Real talk though, Jack is spoiling us with the pages he's churning out.
I like the clothing he comes up with
