hehe former band kid here
i was jazz and wind band
first trombone from 2nd to 6th year
Former band kid, now orchestra adult here
Did wind band, marching/pep band, and jazz band through college
And now I play VGM

we dont have marching band here
we just like play jazz music on brass and woodwind and call ourselves a jazz band
Current band kid rn
Im full percussion, hoping to do marching snare next year
Been practicing a bit
Got equipment to practice too
Did trumpet last year, hated it
Guess who’s not going to rehearsal today chat
Even though its spring break we still have some
My sister band kid i think it could be cool to join but probably to late and unsure
i wanna be drummer i think it would be cool
Drumming is cool, but takes a ton of coordination and practice
Also chat
My indoor drumline season is over
Cuz kids were being disrespectful to parents
hiii from my pfp i think u can guess what instrument i play
idk who im talking to lmao but if anyone sees this then you can yap to me
Wtf that sucks
I’m kinda glad a bit tho
Cuz it was stressful and bad for my grades
And I hate mallet instruments
sometimes the drum line starts playing the cadence during advisory 😭
Sounds about right
Chat apparently my school is gonna get a new cadence soon
Maybe I’ll be on snare for it
there is a thread for this??
I was encouraged to try out for drumline next year
idk what to try out for tho?
My advice would be to play all of the instruments at least once and see what you like the most
Tenors are the most fun but are quite heavy
Ah okay thank you! Snare and tenors have always seemed super cool to me, but I definitely want to be open minded before I narrow it down.
I need to practice on a practice pad this summer to get better
GUYS wish me luck today is the drum major written test!!! i did auditions yesterday already
Chat I’m trying for tenors soon
Wanted to do snare but sadly can’t
Rate the practice set up tho
lmao
that’s unironically what I did
you do what you gotta do
since tenor practice pads are like $300
thinking about buying one of the tenor sets from my drum corps when the season ends to use as a practice set
good luck!
lowkey an awesome set up tho
Ima get cardboard and tape to connect them soon
one of our tenor players used a bunch of trumpet cases to make a practice ‘pad’
finished my band concert from tonight!
oooo yessss
tyyy but i didnt get it maybe next yearrr
maybe next year! sorry about that
As someone who plays both, it's very easy to pick one up once you can play the other
Percussion*
you misspelt flute 😛😛
Weird way of spelling snare drum
i wanna learn drumming
The sax has invaded drum corps
my sister plays snare drum 💪
tenors my beloved
yo
i js finished my first day of band camp
i wore like the cutest fit ever its like a lace top with a jean skirt and a pink cardigan aaaa i look so cutesy
and then my sister wore like a dark grungey kinda fit 😭 we're complete opposites
fire
and btw we do have fashion/outifts thread
ty and i have no idea 😭
oh actually we do
You get used to it after a few days
But I recommend doing shoulder/back workouts to make it easier
Oh what that's insane
Ngl I wasn't big on their show originally but it grew on me during finals
Dude my friends school is already doing football games
They so lucky
Also I got kicked off tenors
To flub
And on the last day of band camp
Front ensemble
Damn that’s crazy, when I was in high school we didn’t even start school until September
RIP
SEPTEMBER
WHAT
Yeah in the northeast school runs from the monday after labor day until the end of june
But band camp for me was always end of july -> mid-August
And then I ran snare and tenor auditions right after school ended in June
Ah
We used to run from the day after labor day to the middle of June
until it was pushed back to mid-august to late may
Band camp for me was usually first week of august through early september
I just got my uniform but I’m having my first concert soon! Also this my first time in band so I’m nervous

I’m in 2nd chair in one away from 1st
