||i interpret their relationship as a way of Cait coping with the fact that she hurt Vi and she isnt around anymore. you didnt miss any developments of a relationship between Maddie and Caitlyn in E3 because there is a 3-6 month timeskip between Act 1 and Act 2||

||whether Cait and Maddie did develop a romantic relationship in that timeskip is up to the viewer's interpretation of the scene. personally i dont think there are any real feelings there and it was more of a FWB thing||
