If you are playing local you should not have this problem, its more of an issue for the multiplayer / server side. (Client and Server Syncing)

Hey guys, Im looking into security measures for my Satisfactory server, one of the main things im looking into is how to make your server create a backup save file every single day. Does anyone know how to do that?
I am trying to download the dedicated server on steam but I do not see it in the tools area. All i see are the games i own and their tools. not sure what i am missing. Also I dont own it on steam only on Epic.
i just made my own dedicated server but i'm unable to join. i can find it in the server manager but when i go to join it says "you are not connected to this server" then the game restarts shortly after.
my friends can connect fine but for some reason i can't.
If your server is on the same network as you do, try connecting with it's LAN address. Unless you've already did that, some modems can't do proper internal forward with public/external address.

No - but you don't need a steam account to get the dedicated server through steamcmd - you can log in as "Anonymous"

ZAP VPS hosting. I finally got it working. for some reason adding the program and the port to the firewall was not working. So I just added the ports with no program tied to it and it started working.
I think its because it does not use "FactoryServer.exe". It uses "UE4Server-Win64-Shipping.exe"

@round latch biggest thing is to make sure you have the firewall ports open. UDP 15777, 7777, 15000
For the ones that we have gotten we get a "Client password" so that you can authenticate with the server in the game, once that has been put in, it's up and running. But dunno where you have bought yours
If you server is ran by a company and you only have web console then you will need to contact them.
The first time I added and logged on to my server, I should claim it. It was in this proces I set the server admin and user passwords...
@round latch You will have to ask GPortal to check the firewall ports that i posted. I am assuming you do not have access to the server computer only a web interface on their website.

My issue when I was setting up the dedicated server on my server computer is that I did not have the Firewall ports open correctly. I had the same "offline" message. As soon as I did it all stated working. Since you do not have access to your servers computer to open the firewall ports then you will need to contact GPortal for support.

Got ya, it says that the service was set up correctly not sure how test it out.. dont know if its supposed to relaunch the program when it close.. which would mean that if i shut it down it would automatically restart.. or is it just supposed to keep it form shutting down every 24 hrs.

Well, that was weird. I went into SMM and tried to enable the mods for the dedicated server. It crashed on loadup so I disabled it. Now I can join my game. wtf

Mods do not work on dedicated servers. Dediserver support will require work and time. Please read the #faq about dediservers for more info, and do not ask for ETAs.
If a hosting service tells you they can make mods work, they are not telling the truth. Mods have to be built for these platforms, and they are not able to rebuild our stuff.

so if you want to use that version you need to switch your client to EA as well

what I really love on SSH + screen is that I can work on 200+ servers efficiently for mass deployment, even RDP can be tunneled with it

99% of the time people have a mod installed they "forgot about" and removing it magically fixes everything

Hi all, I'm having an issue after about 12 hrs on the VM. I get "watchdog: bug: soft lockup - cpu...." spam. If i watch htop its one of the Satisfactory server threads from each dedicated server. I can kill the hung processes if I'm logged in already, but I get stuck if i need to log in as that also gets "soft locked"

preventing login via ssh or console is tripping that off and that things are hung up after some log spam
I'm not seeing anything that suggests that the logs are full, /var is not its own partition and the largest log file is 16MB

Thanks to numerous issues I had to shut it down to get at least basic access, after complaint I had to turn it on again.
Client was surprised they couldn't reach their cluster of machines, so disabled it again.
I'm OK with 6 when whole world migrates to it, but since some services are still 4-only, I don't really plan to "go"

yes, we had directives for dividing the network, later we had network team to turn on the ports (so basically a manager found a shitty excuse to keep their positions, although it could be fully automated in that time)
anyway it sounds like someone forgot to finish configuring the upstream router to do translation back to v4

but due to the nature of having a webui configure it they had to put configs in standard places

it's easy to manage and works everytime the exact same way

You have to run this command in the server folder
run powershell as admin
and try starting server like that

No, this host lets me see ram usage and thats fine, but no cpu data

unfortunately hosting services are kinda a black box and its near impossible to know what is going on inside them

the quick and dirty get it working way is to open a shell and navigate to the location where it installed to and simply issue .\FactoryServer.exe -log -unattended
should be off to the races after that
if you fucked up and double clicked the exe because you got too excited you will need to use task manager to kill it because it will be running in the background
I'll check it out in a bit and see if I can do it
obviously if you want a more robust way to start it and have it come up on boot you will need to look into running it as a service

According to support, the Satisfactory servers are not overloaded at all, they blame Coffee Stain Studios. π They say their system scales up depending on performance and the developer's server software would not use the resources

the steamclient.so did not exist at "/home/steam/.steam/sdk64/steamclient.so" for me, so i created a link to "/home/steam/.steam/steamcmd/linux64/steamclient.so" as it was the only one i could find (as described in the wiki)
i also noticed, if i type "steamcmd +apps_installed" it shows:

same happens if i install via linuxgsm

I host my dedicated server at home and have enabled the corresponding ports in my router, everything worked so far.
Now I would like to host a second server (runs on a different Internal IP address), but if I try to unblock this port again, it doesn't work, of course, because each port can only be used once.
But if I enter the port in Satisfactory as a changed port, it doesn't work.
What options do I now have to run two servers at the same time via one external IP address, or is this currently unsupported?
