I wasn't used the dedicated server on my desktop, I was just sharing my session over Steam. But yes, they could. Ports were forwarded to my desktop when I was doing that of course, but it all worked fine.
maybe try spooling up another VM using qemu rather than KVM

I am highly interested in this because I was planning to use proxmox on my new game server
if KVM is fucked up I will need to go a different route
I like it because it keeps things tidy and it's a hell of a lot more powerful than esxi, but I've had plenty of growing pains with it.
That particular server's motherboard has a 2.5G ethernet controller that at the time I set it up was not supported by Proxmox so I had to install an Intell 1000 card in it and I swear that thing is the source of my issues.
also I use Ubiquiti routers as well

For the most part everything else runs fine on that machine, but every now and again I get a user that has connection issues to one of the servers.
I should see if the controller is natively supported now and spend a day re-provisioning it.

PM doesn't even recognize the on-board 2.5 and I haven't updated it
PVE is currently 7.1 and that server is running 6.3-2 though.

a buddy is hosting a server from his computer, but when i log in on top of placed foundations, I'm unable to move. Is there a cause or fix/workaround for this?
the initial log-in was fine, spawned on grass and did my thing y'know. But every subsequent join I've just been unable to move
try verifying files and also restarting server and verifying by runninng installer with validate

TarmacSr, I also have a udmp. I have found that the IPS stops my game servers from functioning properly, appearing as the same issue as yours. All I have done was uncheck the "game" toggle in the IPS/IDS
Sometimes on join I have to wait maybe 10 sec before able to move.

I ran the standard port settings all UDP in portforward on the UDMPro, remote client was able to connect with not issues. My unifi settings are -IPS on with game unchecked, DPI is on, server in use is not on a Vlan. checked the servers NIC settings and all are default with Jumbo Packets off. Assuming their UDM isn't set to block their clients ip -I have accidently done that from the IPS- or the country they are in. the issue isn't with the UDM

So i was doing my dedicated server send my public ip adress and it still says this server is offline on my friends pc
Hi all, i took a Satisfactory server on GPortal, but i cant see it on the launcher after added the server address and port. On Server Manger the game say Offline server name Pending NotAuthenticated. Router port forwarding is not set correctly or you have a software firewall such as windows firewall that needs to be configured correctly

Anyone know why my dedicated server seem to be crashing when I launch it? I was playing a few minutes ago and was prompted with a "Server is Restarting in XX minutes". So with 2 minutes left I saved game on server and shut it down. Now when I try to run it again, I get list of errors and it just shuts down after. Not sure if im missing something obvious, I tried running an update in the Steam client and said server files were up to date. Any thoughts?

you need your router to foward those ports the internal IP of the server.
so they would put in your public IP of the server to connect, while you could use the priave.

so you have to try testing ports or changing them

Anyone that can help with this? My dedicated server keeps crashing on start up (was working fine earlier tonight). I have so far done 1) Validated the files with app_update 1690800 validate command, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the server files. Rebooted computer, updated video drivers. Attached is the critical failure I am getting when trying to launch the server. Thanks in advance.

Yay he's going now.
Update to above: was able to figure out issue. Turns out that it was related to truck paths/routes. Found some info on how deleting nodes could corrupt it and prevent save from loading. Was able to resolve using a save file editor and remove the paths. Started server and re-recorded the truck route and seems to be working.

I wanted to ask, if you host dedicated satisfactory server on host provider, do you have to play also with experimental game version? i mean it works on stable version of them also to join and play server, but at this point after playing very long, it seems i cant join server like before, i always get stuck on loading screen when joining server, anyone can help me to figure this out ?

Hi David, I had the same problem (unreal crashes) yesterday when I was trying to connect to my server. A simple reboot of the client and server did easily solve that problem for me tho.
(I was not using the experimental version)

The only way I have been able to get modded server to work is to have another pc with the full game installed and have that run the modded session

Some crappy internet connections (especially USA) have NAT already which messes with gaming a little bit.
At a minimum: make sure your mate has done port-forwarding to their server

ok smth goes horribly wrong with the switches on dedi servers
they are messing up with my 2-3 stepped switches setup
All my machines are feeded in Power Grid B and requiering at last 20-80 MW from Power Grid A, depending on how many rows are active. Means, by 4 rows each row consumes 20 MW of power wich makes 80 MW in total. All 4 lanes ar splitted by switches so 4 switches in total
Power Grid A from all these 4 switches are connected to wall mount pole mk 2 and going into a master switch at power grid B
But why is there nothing shown in either PG A nor PG B in the Master switch as long as this switch is turned off? This makes totaly no sense so I assume that the dedi messes up with the grid setup and isn't forwarding the power correctly as one Grid must show at last the Max Cons. in MW and this is equal to all the active switches per lanes
any idea how to fix this?
and on top my two setups seems to be merged into one PG after all which is also wrong handly from the switches. How could it be that a seperated 4 lane setup A with max. 80 MW gets another 80 MW shown from another 80 MW 4 lane setup B?
This makes no sense, as setup A and setup B incl. the batteries are splitted and not connected
here an imiage ... Power Input is PG B and since there is no power income it is 0 which is correct but PG A show 160MW and the stup down 80MW after turning of the Power Switch from my other batteries. So why is it adding the 80 MW from the other Battieres when they both are not connected it makes no sense and must be a bug within the dedi server system because the wiring is correctly done
I connected my 2nd power grid with my Master Switch. All 4 Switches within the 2nd Power Grid are active and telling me Max Cons. 80MW but it doens't matter ato which PG on my Master Switch I connect them, it will show me all the time 0 MW even then not, when the Master Switch is turned on so there must be a bug on the server side

your problem is a bit too convoluted for my smooth brain to process but one thing you can try is to I guess pull the save file and run it in SP to see if its actually a dedi server problem, a you problem, or a game problem

in SP all values shown correctly for now, even if the splitted networks mergin into a 160 MW network which is due to the design error from the DEVs with the switch
