Well, the Kickstarter/merch finally arrived - built in the space of about 1.5 hours (the instructions were okay… but a little unclear at times (due to angle of image making bricks look like they’re in the wrong place).

Only gripe really was a 1x1 brick with a hole had been replaced with a standard 1x1 when it needed the hole to hold another element in place. Works okay for display but does fall off when you crash!

RC works great - and it drives/handles just like the game - utterly terribly!

So after a long old wait the kickstarter stuff finally got delivered, I spent the afternoon building this little bad boy. I love it.

If I were to review this kit I’d give it
10/10 for looks
10/10 for having lore accurate handling
7/10 for ease of building
5/10 for ease of instruction readability

The bricks have straight edges rather than curved on the top of the studs which makes it hard to put them together at an angle, it is however compatible with the Lego separators so that made it easy to fix any mistakes I made

The instructions are kinda hard to read too since most of the blocks are Ficsit yellow-orange and some of the images are quite small. The angles on some of them also make it hard to see what’s going on.

All in all however I think this set deserves praise for doing things I haven’t seen done before and representing a game I’ve been enjoying for the past 6 or 7 years. Good job guys 😁

I made some cool 3d print stuff this week(slug and trigons), but I wanted to show off the Power shard lamp thing I made over the past 2 months (I made it for myself but it feels kinda weird being the only one aware it exists)

It runs off an Arduino Nano inside with the Power supply soldered to the usb-micro, so it's built to basically never die. (I also got it to run off any standard phone charger voltage wise)

It has 4 LED chips fading between a max and minimum brightness that also randomize on a small range, with one resetting every 10 seconds to make the pattern unique

Using VRay for Unreal Engine produces significantly better results than the stock UE4 render engine. Hold on to your packages, fan-art upgrades incoming. No, it's not just a little exposure and/or gamma correction...look at the metal on the right, and the colors in the reflections...I changed nothing on the VRay render other than my hope it didn't crash.
